EOTL Eps 47: Tired

Sera quickened her pace to return again to Xavier's treatment room. Meanwhile, a bodyguard follows him, keeping him at a safe distance and possibly doing so on Akram's orders.

Xavier's awake. Xavier regained consciousness.

Sera chanted the knowledge like a spell and while riding the special elevator towards the Xavier treatment floor, her heart so pounded uncontrollably, making her have to sigh long time to calm down.

When standing still like this, then his legs feel weak like losing energy, making him have to lean against the elevator wall to support his body.

"Are you okay, Madam?" The bodyguard watched Sera anxiously, staring at Sera's deathly pale face.

Immediately Sera shook her head and forced herself to put on a weak smile.

"I'm fine," Sera replied in an unconvincing, slow voice, but enough to calm the attentive bodyguard.

Perhaps the feeling of weakness in his body is due to the impact of the new shock hit him after previously he was forced to race with danger. The shadow of Sabina's gun pointed at him and her life that could have been snatched a few seconds later, instantly flashed back inside her mind.

Xavier was right, Sabina was extremely cruel and dangerous. If only Akram Night had not come to save him, Sera might be dead by now....

But, is Sera's decision correct? He rejects Sabina's offer to help him break away from Xavier, while denying Sabina's deep temptation to say that she will free Sera to be with Aaron.

Sera no longer knew how to examine her feelings, she seemed to be covered in a tightly closed eternality, there was no way out.

Sera knew that she should have prioritized Aaron. The man was his savior in the past, without the help of Aaron who smuggled food and medicine for him while he was in the torment of Samantha Dawn, perhaps Sera had starved to death, or even die from the infection when Samantha Dawn's lash wound creates a gaping bloody wound that causes her to have a high fever for days.

Guilt infiltrates Sera's mind when she realizes her decision to have subordinated Aaron and instead chooses to sign the fulfillment of her promise to be on Xavier's side.

For some reason, Sera felt unable to betray Xavier. The man had tied an invisible thread that twisted Sera's soul so that Sera did not have the courage to break it.

The bond has created a form of sympathy mixed with compassion for Xavier, making Sera more humanizing of the man and fading the shadow of the cruel monster that had previously been imprinted on his soul.

After getting to know Xavier, Sera comes to realize that behind her cruelty and cruel nature, the man harbors the suffering of past traumas.

Xavier is just like him.

They have both been wracked to the limit of their abilities, but have taken different steps to protect themselves. If Sera chooses to obey the path set for her so as not to be further injured, Xavier takes an extreme stance by destroying all of her obstructions indiscriminately so that she cannot be harmed.

But at the moment the man is sick. And Sera knew that the aplastic anemia suffered by Xavier was not a temporary disease that could be cured by itself. The disease could take Xavier's life at any time. Xavier could die if he didn't get stem cell transplants from his daughter's placenta.

Xavier could die and Aaron could also be at risk if he doesn't get Xavier's antidote. Both are equally important to Sera. What path could Sera choose to save both of them?

The clinking sound of the elevator door opening diverted Sera from her daydream. The bodyguard who was accompanying her immediately stepped out of the elevator, then stopped and gestured for Sera to go first so that she could follow.

After arriving at the single hallway where Xavier's treatment room was at the end, the bodyguard did not follow him anymore and let Sera walk in the hallway alone to go to Xavier's room.

At each step, Sera's anxiety grew even more intense.

He saw for himself how Xavier was hit by pain when he first regained consciousness. This second time, did Xavier suffer the same pain? Did Doctor Nathan and the nurses come back to stabilize Xavier and force him back into his sleep?

But...why is the atmosphere so quiet?

Frowning, Sera ventured to grab the doorknob of Xavier's treatment room and opened the door. Doubts still surround him, confused whether he can enter or not into this treatment room. Then when he chose to stay in the doorway to assess the situation, his eyes were immediately fixed on the wide back of Doctor Nathan who was covering the figure of Xavier who was lying down.

There's only Doctor Nathan here, while the other nurses aren't there....

“What do you mean, Xavier?”Doctor Nathan's questioning voice was clearly heard inside the silent room and went straight to Sera's ears, making Sera frown and sharpen her hearing curiously.

No need to wait long for Sera to get an answer, because Xavier was heard directly answering Doctor Nathan's question.

“I will free Serafina Moon and welcome my own death.” Xavier said his sentence with great difficulty, but his tone was full of determination. “I no longer need a child from him to save my life. Call my lawyer, I'll divorce him and give.. what he wants,” Xavier's voice stuck as if holding back the pain in his chest. “Everything he wants…. Even the antidote for Aaron, I'll give you.”

Sera widened her eyes hearing that sentence. His whole body stiffened, even his hand that was holding the doorknob was gripping tighter, making the doorknob grip so that his legs did not waver.

Xavier... will set him free? That guy's gonna divorce her?

"You're not thinking straight right now." Doctor Nathan's voice also implied the same shock. "Don't make decisions impulsively, Xavier. You better focus on recovering yourself first."

"I want to finish everything. The faster the better. I don't want Sera in my life anymore." Xavier replied with great difficulty, sounding adamant.

Xavier's last sentence was directly pierced into Sera's heart, silencing her to cause invisible pain that made her chest tight.

If Sera was keeping her heart from Xavier, it shouldn't hurt her. But somehow, right now it hurts.

Sera stepped back with a trembling body, wanting to step aside and get away from everything, wanting to hide so that her heart would be safe from the wounds.

But where should he go? Sera had no one, right now, only Xavier was home.

But the man threw it away and didn't want it anymore. If so, where should Sera go?

Sera's legs felt weak, trembling and losing strength, even with Sera's slow body losing its energy support. Sera's hands clung back to the wall of the passageway, trying to maintain her consciousness and stumbling along dragging her steps away from the place.

Unfortunately, the burden of the heart turned out to be able to drain physical strength to its limits, so Sera was no longer strong to bear it. His body collapsed, his gaze darkened, and his consciousness shattered into pieces as his body intersected with the carpet of the hospital hallway, sprawling there.

Sabina's body was laid on an iron bed similar to a hospital bed, but this one was firmly fixed to the floor. Both hands were handcuffed with thick steel whose chains fused with the iron on the right left of the bed. The room where Sabina was placed was a special room in the secret area which was one of the properties belonging to Akram Night.

This building is strictly guarded, located in a secret location that is not tracked and is only used to hold enemies or criminals who enter into dangerous levels.

Since Sabina is one of Dimitri's top assassins with great abilities, Akram decides to put Sabina here.

After Sabina surrendered and was paralyzed in the siege of dozens of his men who pointed weapons, the, the woman was immediately taken to this place and forced to sleep with special anesthesia so that the woman did not behave and inconvenience her guards.

Akram actually does not mind to eliminate Sabina as soon as possible because he knows that this kind of venomous woman, can be a threat of intruder in the future if not immediately eliminated. However, Xavier, who had regained his senses, said that Sabina might be useful later.

I don't know what Xavier's plans are, Akram doesn't know. But for now, he chose to trust his adoptive brother and not take extreme measures that would have ruined Xavier's plans.

Right now, Akram's focus is only on finding Aaron Dawn, not to be taught a lesson and be eliminated like his original plan, but again because Xavier has a plan, where the plan can only be done if Aaron stays alive.

Xavier even gave Aaron a special antidote that had to be injected once they found the man. An antidote serum that will eliminate the poison from Aaron's body, while saving the man's life.

Why did Xavier suddenly change drastically and turn things around to go against his original plan? Was the man's brain disturbed after being forcibly dropped in a coma?

"You should have handed Sabina over to me. He's my precious asset." Dimitri who was busy activating his tracking program glanced at the pensive Akram while staring at the look of the surveillance camera that featured Sabina lying unconscious in her detention room.

Akram glanced cynically at Dimitri, his expression looking haughty and powerful.

"You're not in such a high position to be able to negotiate or make deals with me. You're a prisoner here, too. Don't forget yourself. Did you forget there's poison and bombs in your body that can take your life at any time?" sahut Akram with a sharp piercing tone, pressing Dimitri's self-esteem all the way to the bottom. "So, for now, just keep your mouth shut and continue your search to find Aaron's current position."

Because Dimitri said that they could find Aaron from Sabina's travel track record, Akram decided to drugging Sabina without interrogating her. Right now he was already impatiently waiting, hoping to directly make a raid and snuggle up that troublesome stupid sneer.

So for now, then, Dimitri knew that the most appropriate way to save his life was to keep quiet and minimize the possibility of igniting the anger of Akram Night which made the man pushed to press an explosive button that could instantly smash his head in seconds.

Right now his main priority is to save his life first. Later after he can be free from all this chaos, he will make sure that in the future, he will try to avoid as far as possible from the two deadly brothers.

Dimitri's eyes were again fixed on a digital screen in front of him that displayed Sabina's travel track record from tracking the microchip on her body. This tool is very difficult to operate by his less expert, so it takes twice as long as it should to bring up results.

Now that the results he was waiting for appeared, his eyes widened before then speaking excitedly.

"I think I know where Aaron is right now."

"Sera was fully aware and asked me if she could visit you."

Doctor Nathan, who came to visit Xavier, said as soon as he entered the man's treatment room.

Just then, as they were conversing, there was a noise outside. When Nathan's doctor came out to look at the situation, it turned out that Serang was the source of the commotion. The woman collapsed in the hallway and the bodyguards were covering her body to help.

Doctor Nathan immediately gave help, and Sera was immediately treated in the room that had been prepared for her to rest, next to Xavier's treatment room.

The woman's blood pressure was low, and it was likely the stress load that knocked her unconscious. When Sera says that she wants to talk to Xavier, Doctor Nathan forces Sera to rest first and gives Sera medicine so that she can sleep for a few hours to calm herself down.

Once awake and feeling better, Sera immediately billed an appointment, so that Doctor Nathan could do nothing but convey Sera's wishes to Xavier.

She and Xavier certainly knew the same way that Sera had most likely stolen their conversation before she fainted. Sera's desire to speak to Xavier must have been to talk about it to the man.

Xavier's lawyer had just left the room when Doctor Nathan stepped in, and the doctor's eyes inevitably glanced at the neatly stacked file on the bedside table. He could immediately guess what file Xavier's lawyer left behind.

"You sure of your decision?" Doctor Nathan spoke carefully, his eyes watching Xavier who was lying still with a hardened expression.

Xavier was almost indifferent for hours and only had a short time to sleep chicken for a few times due to the influence of painkillers on the infusion. The man insisted on staying conscious and not wanting to be forcefully put to sleep. In fact, Dr. Nathan knew it must be very painful to breathe with such an injured lung.

Xavier nodded his head in response to Doctor Nathan's question. The man took off his oxygen mask and spoke softly in a raucous voice.

"Bawa Sera came here. I think the time is right to talk to him."

"Sera looked sick and suffering at this moment. This sudden change of your decision must have surprised her." Doctor Nathan interrupted quickly, speaking his mind.

Xavier himself smiled faintly. "He should be happy. I'll set him free."

"Why are you doing this, Xavier? You fought hard before to tie her up and give her a child. You're even determined to do everything you can to get well. I may not be in a position close to you to examine your thoughts, but a layman like me can definitely see that Serafina Moon is a special woman in your eyes. Why would you suddenly just give up and just let go?"

Xavier's eyes were filled with flashes of irony.

"Because I'm too tired to fight. It means nothing, in the end I will die." Xavier spoke from his tightly clenched teeth. "I don't want anyone to put a burden on my path to death."

"You must have been told by Akram that Sera rejected Sabina's offer to cooperate, right? The woman did not want to accept Sabina's help. Sera refuses to betray you, doesn't that mean anything to you?" Back Doctor Nathan said, trying to soften Xavier's hardness of heart.

"It's no use. I don't care anymore." Xavier answered coldly, hiding a secretive sadness in his eyes.

"Xavier's." Doctor Nathan interrupted in a voice full of warning, giving a reprimand. "Serafina Moon could be pregnant with your child by now. You can't just let go. Didn't you think of that possibility?" Doctor Nathan watched Xavier's face and read the meaning implied there. Suddenly, his expression turned horrified. "You don't plan to exterminate the child if it turns out that it's already formed inside Sera's stomach, do you?" he cried with buying eyes, filled with shock.

After securing the elderly couple, the owner of the small motel, the troops sent by Akram rushed into the small hallway where the lodging rooms were placed.

They stepped carefully and calmly, not wanting if this ambush to disturb the other guests.

Lucky at a time like this, this motel is quiet and only received three guests including Aaron who is in the last room, the motel is empty, so they don't need to go into extra strategy to ensure Aaron's arrest remains a secret arrest.

The troops stood along the hallway, besieged in all positions around the door, and one of Akram's men who had the keys from the motel owner stepped forward and opened the door carefully.

Inside was very quiet with no sound, and it was the leader of the troops who moved first to enter the room followed by his men who were guarding behind him.

No one greeted them in the room. The room was empty in each of its narrow corners. The whole army checked all sides, from the closet to the bathroom, but they could find nothing.

Whether since when and without knowing how, Aaron had managed to escape from this place before they came.
