Fake Princess

Fake Princess
CXCIII Chapter

Come sit me next to Julissa, put my eyes on the door of the room that is still closed. My eyes were turned back to the wooden boxes in front of us.

"Sit down here with them" a female voice sounded, my gaze turned towards Ajeng who was standing beside Julissa with Wasfiah also standing before her.

Kutatap Wasfiah who moved his body sat beside Julissa while I turned my gaze to Ajeng who had stood before us by holding the top of the wooden box.

Still I looked at Ajeng who moved his hand open the wooden box, bent him to the side as he placed the rectangular wooden lid in his hand earlier to the floor.

Again moving Ajeng stood up while he directed his hands back down the inside of the wooden box. A red cloth interspersed with a golden thread motif that enveloped him lifted from inside the box...

He pointed the red cloth towards us, I turned my gaze to Julissa who grabbed the cloth from him while moving Julissa gave the cloth to me and Wasfiah.

"The cloth is called Songket and you will wear it during the wedding ceremony. And also," he said, again let me look at him who had raised three medium-sized brown wooden boxes above his hand.

"Take it," he said again, I grabbed my palm by one of the boxes he gave me.

"Open up and try to wear it" he continued, returning my eyes to the wooden box.

I thrust my hand slowly open the box, I stared at the shiny objects arranged in it. I turned my gaze to Julissa who had been wearing one of the gold bracelets she held in her arms.

My eyes fell back on the wooden box full of jewelry while I put the box in front of me. I put my hand on one of the gold bracelets inside...

"You will wear everything at the wedding tomorrow, so I ask you to have enough rest for the wedding ceremony tomorrow especially you are the bride and groom" Ajeng said, I looked at him who had turned to look to the side.

"What about you? Are you all right?" he said back, I looked at him who had turned his eyes to me.

"I'm fine."

"How many days?"

"Eh?" I said confused looking at him.

"How many days is your time?" she asked looking at me.

"Four days, that's why... I'm fine," I told him again.

"Good, I'll leave Wasfiah to the two of you, because usually a bride-to-be will be very nervous on her wedding day, so make sure you calm her down. I want to check the other wedding preparations first" Ajeng said back as he turned and walked away from us.

"You okay?" the voice of Julissa sounded, I turned my gaze to her who had turned her gaze towards Wasfiah.

"I think I was scared. I don't want to get married" she said, I thrust my body a little forward to see her.

"No, not that," he said in a trembling voice, I stared at him who was still bowed unmoved.

"Is it because Danur is not the first Prince like Adinata?" call him again.

"No, it's not that."

"Is it because Danur has always been looked over by some of the nobles here?"

"Thi-"

"Then what?!" my words cut her words with a slightly raised tone of voice.

"I don't know, I just... Only," he said, still I look at him who looks to bite his lips with a bowed.

"Danur, he's a good man. If it wasn't for the ridiculous rules of this world, I wouldn't have handed him over to a weak woman like you..."

"Danur, he's a friend who's also very valuable to me, just like Julissa. He wouldn't hesitate to do anything for those around him..."

"It should be, ordinary people like you are grateful to get such a very good Prince"

"I know, I know that I don't deserve to say such words. I'm not sure of myself, I'm not sure if I can make it happy" he said, cutting off my words, but I still stared at him who had raised his palms over his face.

"Don't think of anything, I don't really want to tell you, but..."

"The father experienced the same thing as you felt, he was afraid that if you could not accept his flaws, he would not be confident that his future wife would accept him even if he bore the title of a Prince," I said again, I looked at Wasfiah who had raised his face to look at me.

"What did you say? Are you trying to cheer me up?" she said with a slightly trembling voice.

"I'm just saying honesty, because that's what he told me. So please, take care of my friend and give him happiness," I said, looking away at his slightly watery eyes.

"At first, I was just scared... What does my future husband look like now because the last time I saw him was when we were engaged..."

"And when I saw him, I didn't know why... I feel like I'm sure he's someone who was meant for me..."

"I know it's a little overdone, but that's how I really feel..."

"I don't care if he talks stammering or he's known as a slightly sane Prince. Just seeing him smile with you makes me want to be present in the middle of that smile..."

"I promise to make your friend happy, I promise to make him smile when I'm next to him" he said, smiling at me for a long time.
