Fake Princess

Fake Princess
CHAPTER 52

It was at that moment that Devan saw me, in a silly position half-dropped to his feet. Devan walked up to me, but then looked doubtful, and the doubt almost broke my heart in two. Before I realized what I was doing, I got up from the bench and went madly across the grass to Devan.

My breath was wheezing when I arrived before him, but due to nervousness, the distance I was taking felt long. We stared without a sound, then I sighed, saying. “ I'm sorry, I'm sorry Devan. Me...”

I didn't get to say more, because Devan suddenly grabbed me in a tight hug and made me tiptoe. I was out of breath, and my face pressed against his shoulder. To my surprise, I even slightly lowered my head to his shoulders. We stood like that for a few moments, clinging tightly, before manners rippled through my brain, “ You mustn't be seen hugging a girl carelessly on the side of the road,” I murmured.

“ Let the king & queen see it. I don't care,” Devan fizzed out loud over my head.

However, I retreated and he then let me off reluctantly. “ Well, I care.” I tried to laugh even though I was shaking. “ Anyway one of us still has to keep a reputation.”

It seemed Devan was ready to refute it, so I shook my head. “ I came to apologize, not fight anymore. So, are you gonna let me do it?”

This time Devan smiled. “ Only if I can apologize too. Since that day I have been sick. My actions were so stupid, it suddenly came like that, I should have told you first. It's the same I asked my head to be bitten to the break.” Devan raised next to the eyebrows. “ But, I must say, your attitude is harder than I imagined.”

I glanced up to the hair roots. “ I'm sorry,” I said. “ When I said all that I realized I shouldn't have done it. I couldn't stop it. But I really mean it.”

“ & forgive me too, for suddenly coming like that. Friends?” ask Devan

“ Yes,” I said with a heavy sigh.

“ Then, do you live here?” devan finally asked. “ Makaudku in town. But say it carefully!” Devan reminded. “ You will break the dream of my heart salama..

“ You don't have to worry,” I justify the conjecture. “ Now I live in the city.”

“ You left your aunt?” devan's forehead wrinkled anxiously. “ Or she is also here?”

“ No, he's still in Treb. Only I go.”

It seems Devan pondered it first before saying carefully, “ What about your friends there?”

A familiar giant hand gripped my chest as it said, “ Actually there is only a friend. & it turns out he is.. fake.” Devan didn't ask, but I heard myself say, “ He just pretended to be my friend. He just wants... I mean... he just wants to show off already.... with me...”.

I stammered and harrumphed, but Devan seemed to understand me. His eyes widened when he asked slowly “ Well, did he succeed?”

“ No!” I stopped walking and stepped on it. “ Who do you think I am? I didn't lose any brains when my title was lost.” Devan knew himself enough to show an embarrassed expression, so I continued, in a soft voice, “ But who knows? I let her kiss me, and I was lonely. Maybe I did, because I was so lonely.”.
