I glanced at Haruki who was back inside the room, “are you sure, Haruki?!” I haven't had time to open my mouth, Izumi's voice followed by her shadow that walked closer to Haruki stopped my words.
“You said yourself that the place is dangerous, right? Don't complicate our journey!”
“What about you two? Is there nothing you want to say?” tukas Haruki while directing his gaze towards me as well as Eneas.
“What Izu-nii said, already represents what is raging in my mind,” my reply which was struck by the nod of the head of Eneas.
“You guys,” Haruki said while leaning back on the chair, “do not judge a person based on his outer appearance alone. You don't want to be treated like that, do you?” continued Haruki by throwing his glance at me.
“He's the son of a Duke, impossible if he can't stand in the slightest. Also, his head is a little reliable. So, I think it's a big deal to just take her myself.”
“Rest you guys, we'll go early in the morning,” Haruki said again as he got out of the chair and stepped closer to his bag.
_____________.
I walked out of the inn, both of my legs continuously stepping closer to my horse whose reins were already tightly held by Izumi. “Thank you, nii-chan,” I said as I grabbed my horse's harness and climbed onto its back.
I bowed my horse as I occasionally glanced at Aeneas who still did not stop yawning on his horse. The footsteps of my horse continued to follow the horse that Haruki was riding. Several times I pulled the headgear on the robe I was wearing, with the occasional glance I threw towards the still dark path.
We decided to leave before sunrise ..In addition to avoiding attention, we also did so as not to waste too much time. I took a deep breath as I could as the cold air still penetrated into the thick robe I was wearing, occasionally glancing towards the sky which was still adorned with several points of stars.
Our horse kept on walking and kept on going, until some fire points from the torch held by some robed people in front of us stopped. “Do you know them, Haruki?” Izumi's words using our Kingdom language touched the ears.
“Now, just prepare yourself,” reply Haruki muttered softly.
I tightened my grip on the bridle with a gaze that was still inseparable from them. My eyes squinted even more as the four of them were still silent with one of them raising his hand to remove the robe that covered his head. “Not him-”
The man rode his horse closer after a slow murmur from Aeneas passed through the ears. “What, does a Prince do here?” haruki's remark made me glance at him as the man I had previously seen sitting beside the King increasingly brought his horse closer to us.
“Kak, I'm sorry. I don't know if the Royal Family will be staying at my house. They, along with my brother .. Ban me from leaving if I don't take them.”
My eyes were turned towards the trembling voice of the man. Long I stared at him who was bowing his head beside a man who was embracing his shoulders. “This is why, it is troublesome if you have contact with a stranger,” Izumi who rides her horse beside me again grumbled.
“Takaoka Haruki, right? The fiancee of my sister, Luana,” said the man riding in front of us.
“Oi, don't you want to say hello to your twin's fiancee, my sister?” the man continued again as his head turned back.
I turned my eyes in the direction he was heading. Both of my eyes slightly enlarged as a cloaked man walked out from beside the horse line. He raised his hand, dropping the cover on his head until his face that resembled Luana was now visible. “You, may have mistaken us,” said Haruki, I glanced back at him smilingly answering the previous man's words.
“But, the man who called you brother .. Tell us everything,” replied him who also smiled back to Haruki.
“Then why? Do you, want to imprison us?”
The young man laughed loudly, “I will not do such foolish actions. In fact, I was very curious about your intelligence news. If you want to go down the river .. Then I will follow you, it has been a long time I was overwhelmed with curiosity about what was there,” he said in response to Haruki's words.
“I, do not want to waste time by looking after you,” said Haruki who started moving back his horse.
“How is my sister, Luana? Why did he never come back? Though, she should have been executed .. You, didn't marry her, did you?”
Haruki's horse stopped next to him again, “I'll take you to his grave if you want. But all you need to remember is that she's my wife. You'll regret not keeping your word!”
“So she's dead, why not just marry her?” timpal the man while pointing towards the woman whose face is similar to Luana, “ their faces are very similar. Her husband just left her, so she's like a burden to our Kingdom. I heard that the Kingdom of Sora is very generous, so-”
“Entah, despite having the same level, he did not attract my attention. I like a woman who can lift her eyes when talking to me. If the woman who accompanies me always subdues her gaze, then what difference does she have with the slave I have,” Haruki said cutting off her words, the horse returned to move.
“If you really want to come, don't waste our time! Our time, more valuable than the lives you have,” continued Haruki who continues to ride his horse.
My eyes turned to the man earlier as the sound of his tongue was heard. “Stupid! What did he think, he could provoke emotions from a human like Haruki? It's ridiculous.” I took a strong bite on my lips, trying to hold back the laughter by Izumi's voice muttering in Japanese.
My horse moved back to follow Haruki's horse which was moving further away. Every now and then, I glanced towards the shadow that was walking behind us. The sound of silence from the early morning we passed, further clarified the sound of the footsteps of the horses we were all riding. The gaze of my eyes, turned back to Haruki who was still throwing his gaze forward.
What does destiny really want?
Toying with life, toying with memory, toying with life .. Oh my God, does it feel good for you, to treat us all like this? What am I supposed to do? I would love to tell you everything, but I'm more afraid that it will bring back bad luck between the two of them.
My brother deserves to be happy! Worth happier than anyone. He, never hurt anyone for no reason, and you shouldn't hurt him for no reason, God.
