Fake Princess

Fake Princess
CHAPTER 50

I realized that I was eavesdropping, and considering them witches, they might have noticed. I quickly left, wondering why Omar felt the need to know my progress in magic. Maybe the king and queen were worried that I would try to regain the power that was taken from me, and if Omar was watching me, he would have noticed. After all, many more urgent things I had to think about, so I put them out of my mind.

The next day I woke up and went straight to the library, without stopping by the kitchen for breakfast. My stomach felt like I was dancing a folk dance, and I thought if I ate something, I would see it again soon. I had to work up to four times to remove the tea stains on Paula's file.and in the middle of the road I splashed enough ink on my copy that I had to start all over again. After successfully finishing it at noon, my body was clearly trembling, my hands twitching as I took out a blank piece of paper to write my message.

I was in town. Please meet me at Goldhorn Park this afternoon.

I stopped writing, my pen was raised on paper in a dangerous position. So much I want to write, just in case Devan doesn't want to see me, but my courage disappears at the last moment, and I just write; Your friend, A.

I folded the paper, dripped the wax over the joint and sealed it with Paula's stamp, then wrote Devan Dulschessy on the outer fold. For a moment I stared at those two words, my mouth felt dry, then grabbed them and walked out of the library.

During the trip to the palace, I felt like vomiting, even though I had neither breakfast nor lunch. What if Devan isn't there, or too busy to see me? Or worse, what if he's there but won't see me? While I was in Treb I had said horrible things to him, words that people said were unforgivable.

In Vivaskari I tried not to think about it, training my eyes not to look north at the hill where the palace stood. Both tactics did not work, and I was anxious every time I thought about having to go through another day empty-hearted in his absence. Even so, while walking towards the palace, my body trembled even more at the thought of the possibility of Devan turning away from me, telling me to leave…

No. gabe. I cut off that thought by shaking it aloud. I have to find out .. Devan my best friend, and I have to find out.

The castle fortress stretched along the upper side of Goldhorn without breaking, so I had to go to Sapphire to reach the gate. People passing by on this street might recognize me if they look at me closely, so I bow my head every time I cross paths with someone, until I finally realized suspicious behavior like this could attract attention.

After that, I forced myself to look forward, without making eye contact, hoping that I would have learned a spell to change my appearance. Not that I can do it successfully in my present condition; it is possible that I will look like a bearded man for the rest of my life. However, even without a spell I managed to arrive at the palace without a hitch. Two guards in scarlet uniforms, the colors of the royal family, stood swiftly in front of the gate.
