"What's your point of view." I have my chin up listening to the conversation now.
"You and James are a good fit. And forget that shitty mayor." I smiled to myself. James and I are just friends. She probably feels responsible because I'm her best friend's sister. He doesn't know anything about it just looking outside of it.
"Alright thank you I think for your point of view." I continued eating, he's just an outsider who hasn't known my relationship with James.
James sat next to me then unexpectedly. I think he was in a conversation with Edward, but he joined here.
"Hello doctor Javier, may join us here."
"Of course Boss." He sat next to Javier.
"How do you feel at home here?"
"Very, beautiful city. An orderly life again, there must be food, not waking up to a suspicious little noise. A luxury I haven't felt for a long time."
"That's great. We're also helped by your presence."
"And meet new friends here. There are a lot of beautiful nurses here." Javier laughed, is this Don Juan trying to lure James?
"Beautiful nurse? Including Jen you're talking about, apparently."
"Ohh I don't dare, not you and Jen's nurse lover." What will he answer with Javier's lure.
"Hm." What answer is that? Just mumbled indistinctly. He was silent for a moment considering his answer. "actually no. We're just old friends, but I really don't like it when someone's messing with someone I've taken a sister to."
I told you, he thinks I'm a sister. I was done expecting it I guess, a long time ago when I was young.
"Really, when you look good."
"If you want to get close to Jen, I'll let you. But if you play him I'll make your life a problem." Even James threatened him, once he imagined his role as a big brother.
"You guys talk about me like I'm not here. Javier's just happy to be an information scribe. Don't respond to it too much." Now I want this weird talk to end.
"Right Boss, I agree." He called James boss, I think as long as he's out there's someone he calls boss. "I'm just telling him, if he has to beat up someone if need be. It would be more relieving than acting as an angel."
"You know the story?"
"Popular gene here. Everyone knows the story. I love listening to stories." Everyone feels sorry for me now.
"Where were you stranded outside?" James asked to divert the conversation.
"I'm in Jakson, outside Arkansas actually. There was a spacious mansion with good protection there that was not inhabited, the food was quite difficult. Then I followed your group to Lake Village. We found soldiers in Lake Village. There was a community, but there was a tyrant. He dislikes me and puts me in unsafe territory, I'm often told to stay up if it's night, you know I'm considered a threat by my fellow Alpha, I'm bullied because it's considered a threat, I must accept it because I have no power to resist. But here as you say, we support each other, it's like maybe going back to a normal, peaceful life."
"Your family."
"I'm not married yet, my father and mother didn't survive. But I still have a sister in Michigan. At least I still have family. Many are more unlucky than me."
Noah came to our table with an excited face and shook himself in front of me.
"You know I have news. You should listen to this Jen."
"News what makes you this excited."
"You know Andrew and Bella had a fight, it looks like they broke up." Wow, is it because we saw each other?
"It's none of my business, I don't want to be involved in their business anymore."
"It's true." James supported me.
"Maybe he wants to come back to you."
"There is no second chance for a traitor." Now James answered.
