THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE
Part 59's. New Town - Hot Spring 2
Hot Springs, Arkansas. I was curious about our new city.
Within two days we were getting ready to leave, gathering our logistics. We moved cities and moved houses. We are used to it now, as long as there is clean water, electricity and food supplies, shelter buildings, maybe you can say you live a luxurious life for the current conditions.
"Hot Spring is a resort town. Very beautiful, mountains, summer town. I like it, there are many hotels there. The neighborhood's good if we can make it a safe city." Susan was excited about our departure. I smiled with his spirit. Maybe this is her honeymoon too.
"May as many cities be safe as possible. We seem to be able to suppress new contagions with security protocols now. Although I miss steaks and salads sometimes."
"You won't miss him, it's no good turning into a zombie before we find a cure." Yeah he's right nobody wants to turn into a zombie right now.
"Andrew will be the vice-commander of the city, the handsome one does have the ability to seem." Susan praised Andrew now.
"Hmm. Yes you're right, it seems the Commander believes it. But it's good that we can work with people we're close to. It feels like the two of us and their group have been like a second family. But you are their family. I'm glad I could work with you."
A new city, I hope that with our busy escorting this new city I can forget Fred slowly. Killing my hopes slowly, letting go of destiny said another. Or whatever it's called.
"I have a good feeling. This city will be our home. I don't know when we can go back to El Paso. How's Mother? She good?"
"He's good, much better than before, he doesn't drink anymore, eats healthy food, is always grateful he's in a safe city. He knew I couldn't go home yet, but when I called he always encouraged me and said don't worry about him, he had a lot of friends who could support him there, you know our relationship has never been this good before. The previous years I spent hating him." We made up when the apocalypse hit. Life is strange.
"Maybe it's better to be far away but long for each other, than near but hate each other." Susan made me grimace.

We saw great preparations in the barracks. Enginer soldier company has also loaded logistics.
"Jameses. We've completed the logistics you requested. It's all pack and go up." I'm reporting to him.
"Ohh well, are you ready?"
"So, he said it was a beautiful city. It'll be fun, I guess."
"How are you feeling?"
"Feelings...Hmm, I don't know, well I guess." He smiled at me. "Don't worry, I'm functioning 100%. Believed to be the head of the medical unit in a beautiful resort town with you guys whom I know very close It was actually a gift at times like these." His smile is contagious to me now.
"How you are, somehow I think you've changed, too."

"Yes." Yeah."
Kamu both fell silent.
"At least I'm still trusted to take care of you. I still need a purpose in life." I laugh.
"Oh come on********, I can take care of myself."
"I knew. But if I don't try for someone else my life feels empty. Now besides you there's also one city to look after."
"We're gonna be busy."
"Tomorrow we go to the resort town. Let's just say we're on vacation to a hot spring. It'll be fun."
"It must be fun, we're all family."
