Part 94's. Jacob Russell 1
Mark is still at large, if there is no effort from their families to solve this problem then we will proceed to the commanding officer.
"If none of Russell's family asks for peace, continue the investigation until the original commanding officer, we take Adrian to jail as well." George, my brother spoke after I told him I met Jacob Russell.
"I think so too. He can't step on our family. If we let him we'll be laughed at and underestimated."
"You're right to give them a week's time, past that their difficulty. Have Jacob talk to me. And if he presses you with a lawyer and makes it difficult to negotiate send him to me. Don't give them back the money, it at least makes your first year's financial statements look a lot nicer, they'll have to pay a lot for an attempted murder. If it comes to me I'll make them pay more, otherwise it'll make my sister a criminal."
"I'll do as you ask."
So I'm waiting for their good faith, while the police are still looking for where Mark Humphrey is.
"Sir, there's a request for a meeting from Jacob Russell tomorrow." Finally on the third day someone called us asking for a meeting.
"Well, schedule it at the end of the day, after all my schedules are done. Tell the lawyer to come to our meeting."
I thought he would bring in a lawyer like his sister and would put all the pressure on me before we came to an agreement. But it turned out that afternoon he came alone without anyone to go with him.
"Gilbert, thank you for accepting my first meeting request."
"We really need to get this done, no, the sooner the better I think. Adrian didn't come?"
"No, the troublemaker was the source of the problem from the start, I had to solve the problem he created. Mother's favorite." So it seems that his mother pressured him to ask me for peace.
"We're sorry Adrian has troubled you in such a way. All right, Mark's gonna turn himself in, but I'm gonna ask you not to aggravate the charges, he's the one who's important to me, I'm gonna try to keep the sentence to a minimum, I'm gonna say, we won't ask for our case rent in the Local Market, we'll pay you all the costs of Kylie's treatment and the cost of your car damage." That's a condition that George and I can accept because he agreed to.
"You agreed without much question on all my terms, I thought you were harder than Adrian."
"I have a lot of things to take care of, he pays himself 10 million dollars of his money, I hate having to take care of the problems he always causes, the important thing is that he didn't go to jail like my mother asked him to, and this thing didn't get to my dad. And your request is still reasonable to me. I don't want to get in trouble with your brother. So for what I trouble myself for, I'm in the wrong position, if I'm being tough there's gonna be more trouble than I'll get if I'm right I'll keep my position without giving in to you." I finally understood why he didn't make the negotiations go wrong but agreed to everything.
"Well, your reason makes sense."
"Why didn't your brother say anything to me during our meeting just a moment ago."
"Ohh we don't want you to anticipate that we knew from the beginning who hit us and were looking for that car in Mark's circle of people, even lastly maybe he would attack me again because the person who followed me added. If he had attacked me twice, this case wouldn't have been finished this easily."
"so apparently. I don't know if I should laugh or get angry I guess." He took a long breath. Having a younger brother who behaves like Adrian never seems easy.
"Well, I'll talk to your brother and Kylie's family later to apologize, thank you for not making this harder for me."
"Well, I don't want to drag on any sooner than it's better for me."
Jacob left, it turns out it's a lot easier than I thought. After this I had plenty of time to focus on my work and think about how to talk to Eliza's family about our relationship.
