“All seem to have the same symptoms, plus this goes in the symptom table..” Dr Mike added.
“Give them an oral heat reliever first, run a blood test. We need a quarantine room..” James whispered to me after the three of us confirmed all their symptoms.
“Container treatment 6.” I call our last treatment room. And the room was already strengthened for quarantine purposes.
“Iya. Prepare. Interview them what they ate and drank before this. Tell the others we're running this observation..” The CDC has established an isolation protocol for cases like this. I started coding all our teams. But we certainly don't tell patients who are exposed to isolation protocols.
“You came eight convoys, you family?”
“Ohh we have three families. But we were 9, there was a young Asian boy coming with us, he only worked in Springdale, had no family there and he wanted to come with our convoy, we allowed it because he had a jeep that we thought could break through infected if needed.” It's weird, why the other one's okay. I asked them what their food was for 2 days they were trying to find us. Recorded in detail all the information, while we took blood samples, and the doctors gave booster shots and pain relief.
“You need to rest, it will help.”We direct all patients to rest while other health workers will check their blood samples.
“Give them a tranquilizer.” I heard James whispering to Noah. I think somehow we all know somehow this isn't going to end well. I have that feeling too. James brought a sample of laboratory room blood on the right of the triage, leaving us to run the next procedure.
“You heard the word Boss,..” Noah spoke to me. I'm taking a pentobarbital dose, a syringe. “Three alone, they are only 3 families...We have to save supplies.”
The other nurse arranged for them to get their bed after their blood was taken. And Noah and I went in, Mike was there to see what we were carrying. He's looking at me.
“Boss order.” I whispered.
“You are one family nearby is not. Our supplies are limited, so we will give you this medicine dose alternating needles for one family okay.” Mike and Noah give them an injection.
“What we will do is Doc.” One of them asked.
“You'll be fine. You guys need to rest first, you'll be better off. All of you are already military shelters. It's safe and there's nothing to be afraid of.” Mike's trying to calm the patients down, I guess after this, I won't know if they'll remember who they are.
“Maybe we can fish again Hudson,.”.Patient from the end chimed.
“And set up barbeque.” Maybe next to him is his wife.
“And college again..” Their son chimed in.
“Ohhhh I want to watch the movie again, infected this must be destroyed soon. A really good doctor.” A girl teases Noah.
“There are so many superhero movies that we need to finish the series. If it's over I'll take you to watch Leah..” Noah kindly replied to the teenage girl. He made her smile and everyone laughed.
“I'll collect your promise handsome doctor.”
“Both-good.”
They were all laughing, I saw it coming along laughing, but maybe they could have fun for the last time. After this they will be in a better place than this world. Might as well...
Within fifteen minutes the sedative had them soundly asleep. I looked outside the quarantine room, before reporting to security and the soldiers handcuffed them to their own beds. James is coming back to join our team preparing to receive patients, while the lab's medical administrators are doing all the checking for us.
“They've all been handcuffed?”
“Security has handled it. There is one person who is not sick even though they are together in the group.”
“I know, we will do an interview with him as soon as we finish this emergency.” James and I have heard the sound of an evacuation heli approaching. And in a matter of minutes we've already dealt with the victims
