THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE

THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE
Part 148's. Encouraging Speech 1

I told James about my assignment. He was supportive of course, I had to think what to say for the day after tomorrow. I drafted the script of my short speech. Asking James to read it before I handed it in, I was afraid to make a mistake for something I had never done.

"It's good I think. Nothing's wrong." James finished and returned it to me. "This will be an uplifting speech. You have the talent to be an orator." I'm happy for the compliment.

I brought my script to memorize it. I saw Commander Gilbert, over dinner. I think I need to show you my speech script. So I waited for him to finish his dinner and intercepted him on his way back to his control room.

"Gilbert's Commander." He looked at me when I called him.

"Miss Jen. What's up?"

"I'm bothering you a little. I've never done a speech like you asked me to. So I want you to see the script. Doctor James says it's good, but I'm not sure until you agree."

"All right, let me see." He was friendly. Fortunately I was not considered a bully.

I handed the somewhat shabby paper to her. He read it quickly, and I felt like a college kid waiting for the test results.

"It's nice. You arrange it well, it does not take long which is important to raise the spirit!" I was relieved by her agreement and smile.

"I haven't thought about the yel-yel. But tomorrow morning will be over. I'm bothering you, you must still have a lot of work to do. Then until tomorrow morning commander. Good night." I immediately asked myself from in front of him.

"Jen." Jn." He called my name without frills Miss this time.

"Thank you." His smile this time was full. I like his smile.

"Return Sir. Glad to help you."This time I decided to do it right.

The morning I waited. I stood with James, 5th Battalion Commander, Mayor and Main Command, Sir Gilbert Gillian in front of the morning apple of the main podium. Standing in front of thousands of soldiers in military nurse uniforms, it felt so overwhelming. All my life I will never forget this proud feeling.

I stood up straight listening to Commander Gilbert's word of release.

"... We will go to war for our loved ones. Family, friends, country, especially for our future. Green Zones across the USA this year will be realized, restarting our lives, returning home after years of guerrilla warfare soon our task will be completed. Nurse Jen told me, as the woman who fought with us, from the east end to the west, the medics made sure we could go home even if we were hurt, we have all become accustomed to the rough terrain of the darkest of days, sometimes without hope, but today even though work may still be plentiful, we believe it will be finished soon! So let's fight the Warrior! And reclaim our land! Ooraah!"

"Norah!" A military yel-yel Layt Force to arouse the spirit shouted by a group of thousands of soldiers who are mostly Marine it feels can make infected wherever it is frightened.

"Nurse Jen will give you the message. He and the rest of the medical team that will keep you from getting hurt, listen to this like you hear a message from your family."

Commander Gilbert gave way to me. I'm advancing. And now my heart is beating fast. I took a breath before I started.
