THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE

THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE
Part 2's. The Meeting

I'm really not sure about myself. He must still think I'm an unbelievable person, when he sees me. But Uncle David had other thoughts.

After our last meeting in the hospital, he never called me. I also know myself, I said it would be difficult to deliver, but in fact I did not dare to make it difficult. I sent everything out before time.

He finally called me when I finished the last shipment 20 days ahead of our last 3x delivery deal with a 2-month break.

"You've completed the delivery. Thank you." Thank you." He immediately spoke to the point when he called me.

"Yes, I should be thanking you."

"How are your parents doing?"

"They're good, although they still can't remember much, but they're much healthier."

"Good if so. Yes okay. Thank you for your cooperation." He kept his distance from me the last time we spoke and immediately disconnected the phone.

I don't have the courage to call her anymore. I know what I did in Toronto was despicable. I'm not sure what his thoughts are with my appearance this time.

Taking a deep breath doesn't make my nerves go away. We're Michigan the closest city to Canada with a trade delegation, although now our position is providing financial assistance it's still a negotiation.

Michigan is alive. It seems that the US is trying hard to revive its economic engine even with all the destruction it has experienced.

I walked into a meeting room at the Michigan government finance building. I'm not the leader of the delegation, but this most important deal has to work.

"This is our delegation, Mr. Robertson...." The undersecretary of Finance introduced us and finally "Miss Elizabeth Dugard, special financial advisor." My position has changed I don't take up military service anymore. I quit the military after getting Father and Mother to help Brother take care of Dad and Mom's company.

"Miss Dugard." She looked at me but greeted me without ripples, smiling like the other guests.

"It's nice to meet you Mr. Gillian." I replied with the same tone. At least try to repay him with the same calmness.

We bring some issues to discuss, soft assistance packages, help running some more industries, and the deal project in Brazil that I hold will be discussed the latter.

"It's going to be a long negotiation it seems. But we're grateful your side is willing to make time for us..."

He started to share his focus, some people in special issues while he spoke to the Chief of the delegation I spoke to a special person who was talking about the deal in Brazil, submitted our initial offer and some technical issues discussed with my team.

Until lunch later. We were invited to a restaurant that was reopened in the building.

"Miss Dugard, I didn't think you'd show up here." A startling greeting as she appeared in front of me. I didn't think he'd talk to me first.

"Mr Gillian, I was asked by the Prime Minister for help I can't refuse of course." I owe it to Uncle David about my parents.

"You're taking care of the Brazil deal, aren't you."

"Yes." Yeah." He should also be holding this important deal.

"That means it's important to you, until he sends his security adviser's son."
