"What did you work for?" I asked the beautiful girl.
"I'm a corporate lawyer." He had a promising career before. Unfortunately, this plague forced most people to become farmers just to survive.
"You've got a good career." She laughs.
"That doesn't mean it now. Not starving to death is good. The past is the past, the world has changed. But thankfully I can live in a city that has free hot springs." Those words sound resigned but he has a positive side that he can achieve. L like it.
"Well, you're right, maybe we're the luckiest right now."
"I can garden in Hot Spring, it's a dream job to think about. I always thought if I retired I'd buy land and have lots of crops."
We talked a lot, the trip was pretty smooth today, we left at 9 less, and it turned out we made it to Hot Spring again before lunch.
"You'll be in the officer's data and placed later, if you want to chat I'm in the ER. I also sleep in the hospital ward." He would come down and instantly join the others.
"Well, we'll see you later, nice to talk to you." He waved at me.
I'm starving, but Susan might already be in our soup kitchen. I remember I promised to see Andrew, maybe he's still waiting. So now I'm going to his office.
"Sir, Miss Jen asked to meet?" The assistant gave me a sign to enter later.
I stepped into his room. Smile at him then. He asked for my hand and I sat in front of him.
"It's good you're back." I looked at him.
"It's nice to have someone waiting for me to come back." This handsome guy, so good. True said Donna, in this very difficult time, we may be very lucky people, why this handsome mayor could be my lover. I never intended to tease her.
"I told you I'd be fine. You don't have to worry. Our return trip only took half, we found refugees who wanted to come."
"That's great, you don't know I'm worried you're 1 hour away but not until 6pm. Even if the battalion commander says you're okay, it's still very worrying."
"I don't want to talk about that creepy trip anymore. It feels terrible to be surrounded by thousands of infected. Have you eaten? I'm starving..."
"It's past 1 o'clock, the break hour is past. You go ask for food in the kitchen. I have to check on some work, but tonight we're having dinner with friends."
"You mean?"
"You my beloved, what's the problem sitting next to me, do we need to hide it? Till when? Who dares to bother you ... or are you lying with what you said yesterday?" I grimaced, she was chasing me with that lover status. He was even outspoken with James.
"All right. I'll sit next to you at dinner."
"That's better Miss, who dares to bother you with claws, you're Nyonya." I laughed as he said claws only. "Go to lunch, don't get sick. The story's delayed tonight." She embraced me, a short kiss silencing me afterwards. This is my boyfriend, I've decided to accept it.
"I'm going Mr. Mayor. See you at dinner."
"Go, we'll continue tonight."
"Continue what ..." I'm just pretending to be stupid.
"You know what I mean Miss Nurse." I laugh. Having this lover is fun too.
