He shut up and pulled away. I also bowed.
"Don't you win Sergie, you've won that position, you've proven yourself? What do you want again. So you really want to go back to Moscow?"
"Moon, we can talk about this later on slowly." I immediately shook my head. Everything is clear now.
"We're talking about it now not later. I want you to make a decision in three months. If you want to go back to Moscow I will let you go, you are free to choose without pressure from me. To make things easier, we better not meet. I don't want you to regret it, but I don't want to regret it either."
"Wait a minute, what do you mean three months."
"I mean obviously, if you don't want to leave Moscow, then I'll let you go too."
"Why did you take a road like this. Is this not to be talked about?" I'm shaking.
"Because I know you want to go to Moscow, and I don't want to go there. Instead of us fighting when we've been too far, too long together, or we've been married, the sicker, the better we decide here. Moscow has no shortage of beautiful girls. You'll be fine and maybe I'll move on with my life." I'm starting to cry now. This is the sickest moment for me. I don't want to take it off, but for a long time I've survived it's gonna be as sick as ever.
"Moon, why do you have to force it like this." He hugged me, I cried even more. "It doesn't have to be like this. We can talk about this..."
"So tell me what to do?" He can't answer me now either. One of us has to give up.
That's the only way. I stared at him for the answer to what we should do. How we reconcile our differences of principles.
"There are no rules."
"I'm not so blind Alex, you're the CEO of every company in the US right now. Companies in the U. S. are formed not from public shares, but from family shares, your father can do that. What can't be the CEO of Moscow living in Montreal, or even crazier than you say you're moving to Montreal. That's impossible..."
He just kept staring at me. I forced him to vote, I know it's not fair. But he's also being unfair if he tries to frame me in the future. I better insist now...
I walked away, hardened my heart, not looking into her pleading eyes.
"You have to choose, I'm your future or Moscow your future." Wouldn't life be the future not the past, if I wasn't the future I could just give up.
"Why are you forcing like this. I told you I'd find a way."
"After knowing you a little bit I know what you're thinking. What I'm doing is also for our future."
He turned my body to face her.
"I love you, you know that. Why don't you give me time to set things up."
