"Your family is also a business person, right? You're the only one who jumped into the military following your Dad."
"Yes. That's it."
At lunch she was the girl who was older than Eliza was not being excessive. He mostly talks about business. Something I can respond to without problems, without the tendency to talk about personal problems.
"Thank you for lunch. It's good to know and accept your help."
"I have to thank Miss Williams, you're our investor."
"Then if there's a problem maybe I'll trouble you a little later."
"It's my job to help you."
We split up at that short lunch. Without any incident I was disturbed.
But then there was a call coming in from Dad.
"Dine at home today."
"Is there an event? No birthday is not today."
"Laura wants to apologize to you." My father's words made me laugh.
"Dad, he just called me this afternoon to get angry, you think he's serious about his apology. He was just scolded by his father. I'm not gonna spend my time with him."
"Look what he wants. Uncle Robert himself said he was coming, he said no need to prepare food for them. Let's just say you're having dinner at home tonight, just meet." I took a long breath.
I had to be at seven o'clock when I got to Dad and Mom's house that night. Uncle Robert, his wife and Laura. I was lazy to face the two-faced girl, now definitely in front of her parents and my parents she acted as a kind girl. I'm just here to give face to Dad.
Laura did not say much, she followed obediently in front of her parents. I just gave my regards to Father and Mother earlier, I automatically ignored her just like that.
"You're so bothered by Maria."
"It's not troublesome at all." He switched to me. "Gilbert, Auntie hasn't seen you in a long time. How are you."
"I'm good, thank you Auntie."
"Unfortunately, this meeting Aunt must apologize to you for Laura's behavior." Even his mother apologized to me.
"It's okay Auntie, I've forgotten about it, after all it's been a long time."
"Laura haven't I heard anything from you?" Her mother looked at Laura, I looked at her reluctantly. Hurry up and apologize after this is done.
He walked over to me and somehow he touched my hand. I see it in wonder now.
"Gilbert, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I used to hang out with the wrong people. Now I know who helped me and my family finally." Your acting is so good heh?!
"Yes, it's okay. Just relax." I took off his hand that was attached to me. This girl is so annoying.
"You're better, maybe next time Laura can pay you more appropriately and sincerely."
"What does it mean to pay more appropriately and sincerely?" The alarm in my head was immediately disturbed.
"I'm taking you to dinner. What I did wrong.... I have to ask you to have dinner with me and pay for everything sincerely." She held my hand shamelessly smiling at me as if she was expecting me.
My eyes instantly narrowed, this damned girl now what morning drama is she playing!?
