ELiza POV
I heard they had already secured the place, we were still probably half an hour away from our destination I quickly picked it up. It's 3 in the morning and I'm still rice on my way to Albany.
My phone rang, from Gilbert, I quickly picked it up.
"Gilbert, please tell me you have good news for me."
"I have good and bad news for you." I held my breath hearing Gilbert speak. "Good news, your sister was found." Monica was found and now the bad news, it seems they've done something to her. "The bad news is they let him get infected in the last 12 hours." My heart hurts now. I'll strangle Dave Thomas himself and break his teeth if I meet him later.
"Where is he? What do you mean he's infected and lost consciousness? Surely there hasn't been a 24-72 hour incubation period for people to be able to but for survivors it may be longer?"
"They were put to bed, I took them to Mount Sinai NYC, doctor James had a call he said people there knew how to handle it, he'd be there at 8 to check, he'd be there to check, but he told me this condition wouldn't threaten your sister's life, so it should be okay, you shouldn't worry too much. You go straight to NYC. If I could I'd look there."
"Yes, thank you Gilbert, thank you so much." We and our family can be said to owe him a lot, somehow we can repay him.
I asked the agent to drive me to NYC, no life-threatening situation. After this we won't leave Monica unattended again, all this is too scary to experience again.

"Dok, is there anything serious, how it is, he said they have even entered the host parasite within a period of 12 hours. He's my brother."
"Nothing serious Miss. We have encountered a new parasite drug. There will be nothing, after all they are survivors, their bodies already know the parasite and develop the ability to survive so you don't have to worry, your sister is put to sleep, they are actually learning the reaction of her body naturally, she said, maybe in an hour or two he'll wake up. And he's not even handcuffed, just placed in a special isolation ward." I breathed a sigh of relief hearing the doctor's words.
"Well if so. Can I wait for him? I just arrived from Ottawa."
"Ohh, your journey is a long way off, of course. You can rest while waiting for it. Doctor James might just check it out by 9. But the important thing is that the condition of your sister is nothing to worry about. As usual after three days of isolation he will be allowed back."
Then the nurse led me to the isolation room. Seeing Monica fall asleep and looking fine I was slowly able to calm down. I got it back. I sat exhausted on a sofa quite comfortably in the room.
Sending photos and updates of all Monica's condition to Albert who was also definitely waiting for news, I could fall asleep quietly at least a while ahead.
It was a long day today but it ended well.
