East Bound Rest Area, Interstate Road 40
Hanryetta, Oklahoma
Day
--------
Travel to East Bound Rest Area Interstate Road 40 for approximately 80 miles we traveled with Helicopter for almost half an hour. The average helicopter speed is 160mph (140 knots) although there are several helicopters such as Airbus Eurocopler X3 which can reach 267mph/432kph
Busyness is seen there, the hospital has been completed established by the military engineer team. We have a level 2 emergency hospital consisting of operating room, emergency ICU, patient ward, radiology and lab, pharmacy room of course. When we arrived we immediately explained the arrangement of the room they made and stacked from the finished container.
They were brought in with CH-47 Chinook and S-64 Aircrane transport helicopters that could transport between 19-22 tons of whatever equipment needed to be moved quickly.

And we were 16 nurses directly to their respective positions to compile the logistics that we had brought with the help of the soldiers. And it turns out there is a refugee camp here too considering this area is not safe.
So we will most likely also take care of the civilian population. I saw the area around us this Interstate 40 is an area that is a lot of cottonwood and willow vegetation, partly trimmed to make this area brighter. But the greenish color still dominates the scene.
Protected areas around you are lined with wire fences, as are refugee camps. There is a restaurant kitchen area that is used as a place to eat and cook in other parts of the building. And the rest of the building is used as a base of operations.
Electricity can be supplied here well from the hydroelectric power plant at Eufala Dam so we have no trouble accessing electricity at all and the plant area is secured.
"Jen, you and Noah will handle the Triage, starting tomorrow this facelitas operates..." Doctor Xavier at the end of the day has already determined our shifts and task rotation. Even though we have to keep getting ready outside the shift in case of a spike with the medic soldiers.
Triage is an emergency entrance unit that determines whether patients are on the emergency list that must be treated as soon as possible or priority or the lowest can wait for treatment.
If there is no extraordinary event, low cases can be handled by medical personnel who help in the emergency while emergency and priority should be handled by a team of doctors and nurses. The job of the staff triage is to make this decision.
"Noah, we're always a team..."
"Of course, we are always compact." After the incident of the battle on our first mission to face infected, Noah and I had a brother-like friendship.
"Good, I'm your team..." And James joined our team as a senior surgeon. There are 4 doctors and 8 nurses assisted with 20 medic soldiers in each shift.
"Doctor James, this is your first assignment outside of facelitas. You're nervous..." One of my other teams has, on average, faced off on extreme terrain. Only James felt in his first year even though he was a senior doctor.
Infantry has already started fielding and starting operations while the next wave will follow tomorrow.
"Tomorrow shift 2 will be asked for help dealing with the civilian population starting at 11, there are about 600 people taking shelter here and rest at 3 pm. Before we start the 7pm shift." James told us as team leader.
"Rest you guys are so tired of taking care of logistics today. He dispersed us who had finished eating towards our rest ward. I followed him out of the room.
"You're fine..." James saw me when I tracked him down.
"Well, I told you it felt like a camper. You don't have to worry about me."
"You are stupid! You're supposed to stay on Norman's main facelitas. Why do you have to be in the middle of this forest." I still don't understand why he's here to work. He smiled a little at my grunts.
"Come on Tootsie, lately I feel like I don't have anyone, my fiance dies and I still miss him sometimes. Mom also suddenly could not be saved, only my sister. I think I'd better catch up with them sometimes ..."
"James..." I am so sad to hear his words. Why did he have such a desperate feeling.
"I'm fine, it's just like I lost my purpose for a moment and you know I decided my goal was to protect you in the meantime. Maybe I'll lose my life later but if I do I can meet your brother and tell him something about you. And while Fred can't be with you yet, let's just say I helped him take care of you, your mother's still waiting for you at home. You have to survive this..."
I can't talk to hear what he's saying. I held her hand and she saw me.
"James promise me you're not doing anything stupid here..." I was afraid that suddenly he was doing something that would endanger himself. He immediately laughed.
"Jen, I don't want to die yet. I just lost my purpose. You think I want to die and be infected. I'm just making you my goal to live now. Don't worry about me, I won't try to kill myself... " I took a long breath.
"There are many beautiful female soldiers on duty. Soon you'll get a lot of fans, after which you can have other goals I'm sure..." He came back laughing.
"You always knew how to take advantage of Tootsie's people. You don't think I know you sold my phone number to girls...." I'm glaring. And my face is hot. But he kept smiling wide.
"You ...You knew?" I grimaced to get an apology from him.
"I know, but I thought you were gonna need some money for something when I realized you were gonna be in debt for your college tuition. So I let it go, even though I found out after you met Fred again you stopped doing it... You must have lived a hard life since Ken didn't exist. Why don't you tell me..."
I'm speechless. That was before, but I think circumstances give me the maturity to behave now. Let it be a story of the past.
"That's James' past story, .. Now I don't want to remember.... We'll just do our best here." He nodded in understanding.
"Have you heard from Fred...?" I shake sadly. "Maybe I need to expect a miracle ..."
"We all need a miracle now..."
Our day is long. I don't know, but I'm gonna try to survive. There's still Mom and Fred waiting for me. I hope that wherever they are, they will be fine.
