THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE

THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE
Part 100's. Acceptance 5

"Finally we'll be together after all this time."

"We're gonna have a lot of time together, and maybe a lot of time to fight later, aren't you sad about leaving town?"

"Hmm. a little bit, but I can come back anytime. My family is always here. I'm not losing anything. And they let me go willingly that's all that matters. Thank you for being patient about all this." After being patient for over a year with all sorts of drama going on, we got to this point.

"I know their approval is very important to you, so it's okay to wait for this. We've already passed it." I smiled at him, having someone who dared to fight for me like this made your feelings soar. True Monica said, she deserves to envy me.

"About what they'll tell us."

"That's it, but whatever it is must be a good thing, it's not."

"She must be a good thing."

I can't wait for tomorrow. I don't know when and how they want me to move. This is Albert's arrangement. The job he wanted me to do in the US. What to watch. We've got a big investment there, maybe it's time to open a satellite office in Washington DC.

Two days later, Sunday night we finally gathered at Mom's house. Albert's wife was also at the dinner, and Mom and Albert seemed to want to make this a family introductory session.

"Sister-in-law, I'm the prettiest member of the family here, there's no denying it, welcome." Monica chimed in on the introduction carelessly and called Gilbert Sister-in-law.

"Well sister-in-law, I agree whatever you say." The others laughed because of the strange call made by Monica. Afterwards they called each other's names back of course.

"Brother, this is our house together, if you're in D. C. later, every Thanksgivings and Christmas come back here. It must and must not be missed." Albert has called Gilbert 'brother', he has accepted my beloved as a family.

"Come on, we'll eat it all..." Mother took us to the living room and dining room combined on the first floor of our house, this place was always special, the heart of this house and where we gathered together.

Everyone seemed relaxed, Gilbert had no trouble joining and chatting at the dinner.

After that festive dinner we enjoyed our dessert gathered in the living room, Mother started the conversation more seriously.

"Eliza, Gilbert, we understand you want to be together, Albert said he'll soon open a satellite office in Washington DC, some corporate oversight functions there will soon be put under Eliza and a team of professionals. But before you move, I want our families to get to know each other and you have to get married first..." Gilbert and I looked around, not expecting Mom to ask us to get married first. It's really fast. "Do you agree, it's sudden but if you've been trying a lot this year why don't you just get married?" But I asked both of our opinions.

"I totally agree." Gilbert answered immediately.

"Gosh, he immediately agreed big brother." Monica who snatched and laughed, I grimaced amusedly. Mother also seemed to have not expected Gilbert to answer that directly.
