I know I can't fight destiny, but accepting it is so hard.  Between Dallas and El Paso, why does it feel so hard to accept he may not be in this world. Seven months to wait, his mother gave up, and after a long wait I had to learn to kill my hope.

But today's Susan's wedding day, I want to be happy for her. I wiped my tears, to be happy for her.

“You are already beautiful.” I finished her lipstick, so moved she looked so beautiful this morning.

“Thank you. You know I never thought at a time like this I'd get married. You know my feelings are mixed up, but D’Angelo says our parents may not be able to attend, but tomorrow is unpredictable. Married in this condition, unlike the bride's dream.”

“While no one imagined it like this but maybe you should be grateful, things will be better in the future. We might be able to dispel this apocalypse.” Seven months we started this nightmare, sustaining life, though like endless rainstorms there are rainbows among which can arouse hope.

“I hope so. Don't think about the future, you won't end up thinking about it now. Today the bride-to-be is coming, I hope you guys are together and happy until the end.”

That morning we had a simple blessing event. Our commander is willing to be the leader of this simple ceremony. This marriage was also used to raise the morale of the team, that there were still good things going on in the midst of the disaster we were having, the chefs deliberately made the cuisine special, he said, the meeting hall room this time was filled with wildflowers that were decorated as much as possible, but it was quite good.

I walked to walk the bride through a simple ice, our invited guests saw our bride in white dress and her hair filled with flower decorations. Susan who is already beautiful from birth like he said it does not need anything more to make the eyes of D’Angelo can not switch from the beginning.

I arrived at the front row, this time with Andrew who was the male escort.

“Hi Capt's... “ I greeted him a little. He smiled at me. That morning he looked handsome in clean clothes at least. None of us brought party clothes here.

“They both are lucky.”

Our commander presided over the ceremony. Read the things that must be read to validate their marriage.

They met between the world's faults, but some of us split up in the midst of this chaos. Everyone has their own time. I wish wherever you were you were happy Fred, whether in this world or already in another world, I was lucky to have you, maybe you were the best that ever happened to me, I was moved to see my best friend get married but also sad when I knew I was letting go of whatever was going to happen. Maybe it's time

“...and groom may kiss the bride (the groom can kiss his bride).”  The sentence at the end made my tears drip, for who, maybe both.  We cheered and applauded for them.

“It's a happy day, why are you crying.” Andrew nudged me.

“It's too happy.” I laughed, wiped my tears, tried not to cry anymore. I may be luckier than many people out there.  So never mind, their laughter and tears are part of the life to live. Andrew looked at me, he said nothing, maybe he knew what I was hiding, but everyone had a struggle in their hearts.

“You will be happy later.”

“Iya, definitely.”

“Let's get excited about eradicating zombies only, it will make happy.” Andrew grimacing.

“Ya at least it's also happiness.”

The little celebration of the day made us all between happy and sad. The other loses, the one gets happiness. Maybe tomorrow the story will change. But today I am laughing for the happiness of the bride.  I hope in the future I can be happy too.
