THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE

THE BATTLEFIELD OF LOVE
Part 140's. New Infections

The POV Jen

Maybe I'm relieved to have told her that, she thinks I'm just a sister, I can't accept her sister's name. He looked surprised, but I didn't force anything on him, if he didn't like me I wouldn't force anything either.

Just the call of that sister pisses me off.

Now I report the condition of the patient to him.

"The patient's vitals are stable, 12 hours after exposure." I gave him the chart of the last report.

He looked at the patient's condition readings hourly and the actions he had taken. It's midnight but we're still keeping an eye on our first exposure patients.

"There was a fever but it wasn't high, just like the previous patient. It's a good sign. May this warrior also pass through, but it seems that he himself has faith he will be healed, we have already raised his heart."

"Yes. It seems he can rest well. It would help his body even if he had to be shackled in one hand."

"You rest, it's midnight. Someone will replace you this first shift, Juan's team will standby in the next 7 hours." As usual, she played the best sister in the world since long ago.

I remember when we met again in El Paso, he let me squeeze him 1,000 dollars easily. He didn't even protest, just raved me a sucker leech, but he gave the money away immediately. Even when she found out I sold her phone number to someone else she let me do nothing.

Tom is still on standby right up to our front.

"There was a new exposure, this time civil, on the way. In an hour." This time it was a new job coming in the middle of the night.

"New exposure?" This time I did not rest. We are preparing for the arrival of the second patient. "Can ask for her gender and age, Tom." Tom communicates while I make sure the 2nd isolation room is ready. James is waiting for the info for the dose of the drug.

"Is there a second exposure?" Michelle who still seemed excited because this time it seems that she felt useful working in her field was immediately surprised to see me prepare the second room together with other nurses.

"Yes, I've just been told, but I don't know anything about the status of the patient yet, you can ask James and Tom. Those who coordinate with the soldiers who deliver the patients."

He left as soon as he got the news. A girl who was very passionate about her work I guess.

It wasn't until an hour that the civilian patient arrived. 54-year-old man, rather frail looks. When checked he was bitten in the right neck, near the main artery. Exposure has been 3 hours, and has a medical history of diabetes, and heart rhythm abnormalities. No temporary blocks could be done, in contrast to the first soldier he bitten in the hand, a tourniquet while at least preventing exposure for a while, James frowned his forehead for the first time.

"It can not take the combination of drugs with full dose that we give to patients with excellent condition, there will be an immediate risk once the drug enters ..." The other doctor said the same thing. Now he looks upset, as do other doctors.

"I think we have to directly infuse 50% of the dose, we see if his body can survive, then we try to increase the dose fully on the infusion to 2 or 3. Exposure has been 3 hours, it is too big a risk. If the medicine doesn't come in, it'll be infected. But if we give a full dose it could be that his body can't survive, our chances are just this." James finally decided and was approved by another doctor.

"Jen, 50% in the first infusion."
