The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
S7 - (Winter) No One

Alex crossed the sky alone. Since being allowed to bring home his rocket, Alex has been secretly practicing using it. He also did not forget to use stealth mode while doing so. This mode keeps it invisible for a few minutes. Later, Alex realized that he could use it for more than two minutes.

This time, he tried again. It's not dark yet. He plans to surprise Jayden by appearing suddenly at the headquarters. Alex once took into account his flight speed, duration of stealth mode, city guidance and layout, and some other additional information. He was pretty sure he could fly in the middle of the city without any cameras on it.

Alex did the action. It didn't take long, Alex managed to reach his base unhindered. Upon his arrival there, Alex waited in the middle of the runway. He waited when someone would come out because he realized his presence. In reality no one showed up.

So, after five boring minutes passed, Alex got into the elevator and looked for Jayden. He didn't find Jayden in the command room, in the room, in the dining room, in the medical room, in the generator room, even in Zetta Sonic's room. Alex finally dropped himself on the swivel chair. The chair was usually worn by Jayden because it was right in front of a complicated computer.

Half curious, half anxious, Alex checks on Zet-Arm. He only realized there was a message addressed to him a few hours ago.

Alex, we went on a rescue mission for the ICPA plane that crashed. Not a complicated mission, no criminals. Nadira agreed to give you a day off. Happy enjoying!

They left without taking her!

He recognized the feeling that first appeared was upset. Their team is named Special Force Zetta Sonic, when in reality, his comrades are currently leaving without him the Zetta Sonic. In addition to being upset, he must also be honest if he feels happy. There is nothing wrong with that decision. They just do simple work. He also agreed that he was entitled to a holiday.

But, his feelings just felt strange now.

Brushing aside that feeling, Alex spun towards the computer. He was sure that there were only two or three screens there at first. Currently, there are six similarly sized screens arranged in two rows. All are in a dead condition. At his own desk there was nothing. It looks like Jayden is replacing all his equipment without any hardware. Alex was expecting a hologram keyboard or something. Maybe something better.

His eyes circled every corner of the room. This is the first time Alex has been there alone in good health. He never had time to observe his capsule-shaped bed. The bed was not so scary from his sitting position.

The high table in the corner of the room feels inviting. Alex moved there. He knew there was a small refrigerator neatly tucked away at the bottom now. It contains mostly mineral water and soda, there is also beer and juice but can be counted fingers. Maybe Tiger filled it in there. As Alex recalled, Jayden was not a fan of alcohol.

Laying his head resting on both hands, Alex sighed.

Deserted atmosphere. He did not like to be there while listening to the roar of the engine or the sound of the indicators. Now he realized that he did not like the atmosphere either. Too quiet, more like a grave than a base.

In such idle conditions, the fad also appears accompanied by some ideas. He can check Jayden's room. He's never been inside before. He only knew which door was his room. There was a signboard in front of him because all the doors looked the same. When he knocked on it, Alex got no answer. The door is locked. If he managed to open it, he was sure to get something interesting there.

Alex also thought of one more idea. The story that brought him there was his father. Currently, no one is at the ICPA headquarters. Jayden and his computer can hack into various systems in the world even ICPA other continents. It is not impossible that Alex can also find clues about his father through the computer.

Among the three ideas, the last idea really tickled him. Alex also got up. He hurriedly went to the command room. Like any other room, the room is just as quiet. In fact, this room gave him a slight chill. The temperature feels cooler. The bright white light that greeted him in also did not give a friendly impression at all. Alex occupies Jayden's seat on the left side of the room.

Just about to turn on the computer, Alex's eyes found a red object at the end. It was a small red one with a green ribbon attached to the lid. From his shape and calendar, Alex knew it was a Christmas present. From the name label hanging on his ribbon, Alex saw his own name written in capital letters. Alex didn't need to ask anyone for permission, he opened it.

In the box, Alex finds a small paper with a short note.

He'll take you to the stars.

Below him, Alex finds a tiny object on a black pad. A white ring. There is a sparkling green line surrounding the ring and a matching star in the center. Alex is not a fan of rings. But, he realized right. Jayden wouldn't give him a regular ring. Again, without asking for permission, Alex wore it. He knew he'd name him Zet-Ring.

Nothing happens until Alex activates his combat uniform.

The helmet screen showed the silhouette of a pointed muzzle fighter. Alex winks in disbelief. Information files alternately filled the screen. He knew that the fighter was a prototype made especially for him. According to the data, the plane could reach speeds of Mach 7 or more than 8,500 kilometers per hour. That alone had made Alex whistle happy. Moreover, when he discovered that no one could currently forbid him from testing.

Alex gets off the runway. He knows where the plane is. He also saw his form on the screen. He knows how the cockpit is. Even so, as the hangar door opened, Alex found his breath held back. He only breathed again after the whole door had opened perfectly.

A white-headed plane was stationary inside. The lights make it sparkle. It is twice the size of the sports car in his house. Tall and gallant. The cockpit should be reached by stairs unless you have a rocket on your back. Alex flew up the cockpit. There's no opening panel there. But, as soon as he got closer, the ring on his finger sparkled and the thick glass of the cockpit cover opened. Just like the Zet-Arm, the Zet-Ring appeared on top of the combat uniform.

Alex shuts down the rocket, landing seamlessly on top of his chair.

He has flown various aircraft in simulators. This is the first time I've been inside the cockpit of a real plane. Unlike the simulator he used to try, the control of the plane felt neat because almost everything was a touch screen. With the help of a helmet guide, Alex takes only a few minutes to recognize his new plane.

It took him a minute to look for the whereabouts of his comrades. Then, one more minute to get the plane out of the base. Alex will surprise Jayden. He doesn't think otherwise.
