The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Fever

Jayden knew he wouldn't like the idea of leaving Alex alone. Tiger was behind the wheel. Caitlin sat in the back holding a rifle. They left the factory area. Not until ten minutes later, the communication network had been connected.

Jayden could see what Alex saw again. Starting from a man who stopped talking because he was shot, then another one, then a row of bullets targeting him. He could also see snow hills with trees lying below. Also how the picture rotates. Alex fell. Jayden just wishes that their Zetta Sonic just slipped instead of getting shot. A sniper bullet could presumably tear through that particular uniform like paper.

Their car spun towards the valley below the factory. That place doesn't have a paved highway. Their wheels turned over the steep snow-covered streets. As far as the eye could see, there were only trees covered in snow. The dim atmosphere and without street lights make Tiger who drives must squint.

The ICPA system is not much help. Jayden was also unable to re-access his drone. The chances are two. One, the drone signal is still being disrupted. Two, the drone was shot. Under these circumstances, Jayden rejected a second possibility even though it was more likely.

The unfriendly conditions made their digital radar blunt. The position of the Zetta Sonic has not been found accurately. The location of the point on the radar sometimes jumps. Jayden had to figure out the position of Zetta Sonic's own camera. It was just as difficult because everything looked the same and was still spinning. Until finally Jayden recognized something right after the picture no longer rotates. He saw the twin lights from a distance. It was the light from their own car lights.

Jayden turned his gaze from the laptop to the valley in front of them. He could see a faint figure near the trees. That part has a series of trees more tenuous. Tiger could easily take their car there.

“In situ!” exciting Jayden. “Turn off lights! There's a sniper near here.”

“You know which way?” ask Tiger. The sweat started pouring down his forehead.

“Way four hours from position Alex.”

“Understanding!” Tiger glanced at Caitlin from the middle spy. “I'll drive the car in front of Alex. You have to pull him in. We can't stop lingering.”

Caitlin did not answer. He only had a glance behind Tiger from the rearview mirror. Jaw tightens. His hand still gripped the rifle as if reluctant to release it. However, when they were closer, he had no choice but to put it down for a while.

When the car arrives in front of Alex, Caitlin rushes to open the door. He pulls Alex's arm, pulls him as fast as he can into the car. The boy's weight wasn't as heavy as he thought. He had no trouble pulling the boy in and closing the door. “I can! Safe!”

Tiger stepped on the gas, spurring his car as quickly as possible back into the area of the trees. Their snipers should have trouble shooting them now.

“Alex, are you okay?” Jayden looked back. He saw Zetta Sonic fluttering on the chair while Caitlin looked back at him with her hands moistened in red liquid. “Dia ... got shot?”

“I'm not sure.” With all-black clothes like that, it was hard to see if Alex was actually shot or not. “But, I think, we should be right back, ‘right? Back to headquarters.”

Caitlin should not have to clarify her words. The other three men realized they were not in Sinde. They were on another continent, in a remote snow mountain range. Once back on the plane, Tiger served again as a pilot. Jayden and Caitlin check on Alex's condition. At the end of the capsule room, there is one section for treatment. There is a complete bed with various medical needs.

Alex groaned softly before opening his eyes. His gaze was blurry, his body was shivering, something in his head was cold, his eyes were watering. His nose smelled the aroma of medicine instead of the fishy aroma of canning factories. After twitching his eyes a few times, Alex could see Jayden's face beside him and Caitlin into the distance.

“Where is this?” tanyanya, iamnya.

“You scared us.” Jayden breathed a sigh of relief and answered Alex's question. “This is in the plane. We are above the sea. In an hour we should have arrived back to headquarters.”

“What happened?” Alex moved his hand towards his forehead. He found a cold towel there. They use cold water compresses to relieve the fever. Alex is not very healthy. Things that until now had always happened after he had used Dragon Blood.

Caitlin walked over. “You don't remember?”

Jayden glanced at Alex's arm. “Moreover, thankfully enggak.”

Alex realizes that he is no longer wearing the Zetta Sonic uniform. He was wearing the shirt and pants that he had previously worn. Alex is trying to get up now. He let his compress fall on his lap. His body felt weak as well as cold. So, he pulled the blanket over his shoulder. “Can I get my jacket again?”

Jayden handed over the jacket and asked again, “Did those two talk to you who told them?”

Alex shakes. “They said that James was in charge. James got instructions and money. Sent to the door of the room he rented. That's it.”

Caitlin sighed softly. “Means we did not get any clue about the real culprit? This is really a complicated issue.”

“Not also.” Alex felt doubt as he continued. “One of them had heard the name Baron.”

Jayden and Caitlin were both overwhelmed with two different endings. Jayden surprised. Caitlin was angry. Alex watched the two closely, realizing that his words provoked a different response.

“Wait first! I don't know what Jayden told you but Baron wasn't involved with them.” Caitlin offered an unsolicited defense. “He was there because he was one of the shareholders. If that bomb goes off, he'll get hit, too, you know.” Caitlin glared at Jayden now.

“Why see me that? It wasn't me who heard Baron's name mentioned.”

Alex realized that his communication network had not been connected at that time. He's the only one who listens that one of the men mentioned Baron's name. It was too coincidental that the Baron himself was there. With hisfather. Alex shifted his body to lean against the wall. Now, his stomach feels nauseous.

Caitlin turns to look at Alex. “What did Jayden say that I used to call Baron?”

“If you mean your fiancee? Yes.”

Caitlin glanced at Jayden as if she wanted to protest but she went back to Alex to ask. “Say, Alex. You think Baron's involved?”

“Depends how far you told him.”

“What do you mean?”

He knows Zetta Sonic. He knows he might as well know who I am and who my father is. He also knows where to send SOS signals. And, most importantly, she knew she would be there to see Zetta Sonic.”

“You have no proof of all your talk. His existence there only proves that he is a shareholder. No more than that.” Alex's reply made Caitlin throw her hand into the air. Then, he looked at Jayden. “And, you, Jayden! Don't get pretentious with my personal life.”

“I haven't even said anything from earlier.”

“You told Alex about my life!” caitlin Sahut.

Jayden rolled his eyeballs. “I'm the only one who feels this is funny or indeed you are angry when people leak your secrets even though you yourself leaked your work secrets?”

“Enough! I'm out!”
