The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Dark Reflection

Alex could usually guess who he would see after he fainted. Just start with some names like doctor Vanessa or Emil. It would be a little surprising if he woke up and saw his father next to him. However, he never expected that he would wake up to be greeted by himself. It's happening.

That was a nightmare.

That should be impossible. Alex looked at himself in the mirror. That's incorrect. He's not doing it. Alex remembers his training against killer robots. He knew when his world darkened meant he had fainted. When seeing creepy things when unconscious, Alex can only call it with one term. Nightmares.

It was really a nightmare.

In that situation, Alex could not speak. The figure in front of him, he was the one who spoke throughout the nightmare.

The boy, his other self, was standing in front of him. He makes a sly grin. His eyes narrowed as if showing arrogance and posing a threat. All aimed at Alex were also the other people who were behind the figure.

“This will happen,” said, “soon.”

Alex didn't understand what it meant until the boy turned away. He approached the people behind. Alex knows everything. Special Force members, his friends, the workers at home, his parents, as well as the criminals he had faced. Surprisingly, there was even Damon there.

The figure is now slowly changing. Everything happened as Alex feared. He saw that a similar figure of himself was starting to become a monster. Darkening skin, flaming red eyes, canines, large claws, and a green aura that could become a laser in an instant. Something's waking Alex up. The boy did not bring out the power of Dragon Blood. He used it for himself. It can also be the opposite. Dragon Blood used the human body to incarnate.

One by one the victims fell. Alex tried to scream but his voice did not come out. When he tried to run over, he just flinched in place. The destruction finally woke him up.

Alex gnashing. Hands shaking. His forehead and eyes were wet. Even so, his body was unmoved. Something tied his body. He was inside the glass coffin that he was familiar with when he got the power of Dragon Blood the first time. The thing that calmed her down enough was doctor Vanessa.

The doctor approached her, opened the chest, looked at her with furrowed brows. “You know who I am?”

“Ya,” replied Alex, her voice vibrating. “Where are the others? Me— They okay?” Alex asked. Fear loomed in his mind. He could not tell if what he saw was a dream or if Dragon Blood had taken over his body and done all of these things.

“Not all.” Tiger's voice sounded from the other side of the room. The man walked until Alex could see him. “You destroyed the ICPA's latest invention robot and Nadira was not impressed with it at all. Me? I was impressed to see Nadira hysterically like that.” Tiger blinked his eyes.

Alex doesn't know what to react to. Tiger seemed to be trying to make a joke. If there were no nightmares, Alex might want to see them. But, right now he just wanted to make sure that all those nightmares were just dreams.

Vanessa pressed something on the panel next to the glass case. The glass door of the box was open. Then, the doctor started fiddling with something in Alex's hand.

“You sure, doctor?” asked Tiger slowly. Alex could hear it clearly.

Vanessa glared at Tiger then immediately threw her gentle gaze at Alex. After smiling at Alex, Vanessa looked back at Tiger. “Alex looks fine. He's not a prisoner, he's my patient. Right, ‘kan?”

“Of course, doc.”

As soon as the binder on her hand came off and Alex could move again, she tried to sit down. Beyond his expectations, his body moved as usual. No weakness felt, no dizziness, no nausea, just a little hunger. “What happened?”

“You're exhausted and passed out.” Doctor Vanessa tried to calm down.

That's not the answer Alex wants to hear. “What have I destroyed?”

Doctor Vanessa opened her mouth to answer. Shortly after, he picked it up again. He realized everything he was going to say would not be as complete as Alex wanted. So he threw his gaze at Tiger, letting the man pin down everything. With dramatic.

Alex frowned and doctor Vanessa glared straight at him.

“Almost,” add Tiger quickly. “I mean, it almost happened. If the protection of the training room has not been added, it will happen. The Dragon Aura attack had penetrated the robot, hitting the wall, scorching everything it crossed.”

“I did it all?” Alex asked so softly, not sure he wanted to hear the answer.

Tiger shrugged his shoulders. “Slightly hard to believe, indeed. There's a tape if you want to see. The tape was cut off after you melted the camera. For a moment, I thought I saw a Zetta version of Sonic.”

Alex gulps. It was exactly as he feared. It was also similar to the nightmare he had just passed through. Another figure in his nightmare may be the incarnation of his fear. The fear will get out of control. Fear will hurt innocent people. Fear of losing yourself.

“Hey,” call doctor Vanessa while patting Alex on the shoulder. “Don't worry about that. The most important thing is to recover yourself. Your blood pressure's pretty low, that's what knocked you out earlier. I'll prepare a recipe that you can drink at home.”

Alex did not answer.

Doctor Vanessa once again smiled at him. “Don't worry too much about that, okay?” Doctor Vanessa looked at Alex fixedly until she got a slow nod. After that, the doctor went to prepare the medicine.

Alex looked at Tiger by his side. “That's bad, ‘kan?”

“Very.”

“What says Nadira?”

“She's scared?” Tiger's answer sounded like a question.

“I know,” says Alex. “What did he say? If he's scared, he'll do something. What will he do to me?”

Tiger was silent for a moment. The answer had flashed through his mind, yet it was actually a secret. So secret that only he and Emil were told by Nadira. Tiger took a short breath. “Nothing,” said. “Not directly.”

“He will watch me?” guess Alex. “You will watch me?”

Tiger spontaneously glared. “Where do you know?” he said in a high but slow tone. He turned towards the door, making sure Dr. Vanessa wasn't there. “Nadira ordered a special team to monitor your condition until it is stable.”

“That's the best choice.”

“OK. Why do I feel like you really want to be watched?”

“Simple. I don't know myself.” Alex turned his gaze to the two hands on the lap. He unleashed his power without being ruled. If Dragon Blood can take over Damon, that doesn't mean Dragon Blood can't do it to him either. “If something bad happens and Nadira orders me to kill.”.

“Nadira won't do it—”

“He will do it, Tiger. If that happens, just do it.”
