The Zetta Sonic
Wild Shots

Jayden turned around as ordered. Marcel wincing. He could see how Jayden's handcuffed hands formed fists. The hand was in front of his chest as if he was praying.

Marcel snorted and soon laughed. “Very funny, Jayden. Are you going to tell me not to tell you to open your hands too?” Marcel put the muzzle of his gun close to Jayden's forehead. The parasite was covered by messy hair. “Open your hands! Show what it is!”

“No!” Jayden pulled his hand away.

The gesture made Marcel direct his hand to pull the opponent's hand. However, Jayden carried his hand rather low until Marcel had to duck. That's when Jayden took his chance. Using his knees, he kicked Marcel in the face hard. Marcel screamed while backing away. The gun that had been in his grasp was released. Marcel's hands held his face. From between his fingers and the tip of his chin, dripped fresh red blood.

“You broke my nose!” Marcel shouted in a stinging voice. Watering eyes. He cursed and cursed.

Jayden felt he was the villain when laughing amusedly. “Hahaha. Not typical ICPA agents. No wonder you get fired that easily.”

“What? How dare you speak so!” Marcel protested while grimacing in pain.

Jayden picked up the gun lying on the floor of the plane. Marcel looked at him. Not because Jayden snatched the gun and turned the gun on him now, but rather how Jayden's hand had been taken off by handcuffs.

“Wait! How do you—”

Jayden smiled wryly. He showed me a small key. Handcuff keys. “I found a backup key in a container.”

“That's the thing you hid earlier?” Marcel curses again. His hands still covered his face. “Sial! It must have been the girl who told you that the key was there. I should have thrown it sooner than here.”

“Shut!” sergeant Jayden. “Now, give me a parachute!”

“No parachute here—”

“Come on, I know someone like you wouldn't want to go without a parachute. You're just a coward. If there is no parachute here, you will bring your own. Give me!”

“No! If something happens and I have to jump out, I can die!”

“You're not good at reading situations.” Jayden put the muzzle of his gun close to the face of the opponent. “Whichever one, you will still die. Either with a hollow head or body crushed due to jumping from the plane. Die now or later. Options on your hands.”

Marcel let out a long sigh then nodded stiffly.

“Good,” said Jayden. “Gift your hands up and get me the parachute.”

Marcel did not dare to protest. When his hands no longer covered his face, his nose was bleeding. His face was messy and his eyes were still watery. He turned around reluctantly and walked slowly. Jayden followed behind while still holding his head.

They passed through a row of boxes of goods and arrived at the end of the plane. There was a pile covered by cloth as well as mesh. Marcel put away the mesh and revealed a backpack-like object. He picked it up and stopped. It came to her mind to throw the parachute at Jayden. Jayden himself was very vigilant. The muzzle of the gun was almost stuck to his head right now.

“Turn slowly!” pinta Jayden's. “Don't think weird or I won't hesitate to shoot.”

Marcel clucked in annoyance. He turned slowly as ordered. Jayden snatched the parachute backpack so he could. The tension mounts when they hear the phone ringing. Marcel almost jumped. The two people glanced at the source of the voice that was in Marcel's pocket. Next, they exchanged looks.

Jayden nodded once. “Thank you for the phone, turn on the loud speaker, and don't you dare to mess around. I'm a good shooter let alone from this close distance.”

Marcel had no choice. He's doing what Jayden said. “Halo?”

[You are under attack. Report the situation.] There was a voice across the phone. Not Roban's voice. Jayden knew he could be wrong or too suspicious, but he was pretty sure that his voice was very similar to the voice of Baron, Caitlin's lover.

[Really?]

Jayden. The caller must have noticed the strain on Marcel's voice.

Marcel hurriedly added. “Really. Situation under control. You think I'm gonna let Jayden get away with it and punch me in the nose? Hey, don't you dare report weird to the boss! Everything is under control here.”

[Alright then, Marcel. There's another plane hiding behind the mountain. Once you can escape, you'll take Jayden to change planes. Understood?]

“Understanding.”

The connection was cut there.

Jayden grabbed Marcel's phone and put it in his pocket. He made sure his phone was safe by closing the jacket pocket zipper. He also asked. “Who was it?”

“Private assistant Roban. I don't know what his name is.” Marcel replied ending a long sigh. When Jayden's gun was pushed closer, he spoke again. “Really! We never met. Roban never told me his name, let alone his own. You think I memorized any of Roban's men? ”

Jayden smiled wryly. “Since when was the name of the personal assistant more confidential than the name of the boss?”

Jayden's question spontaneously made Marcel frown.

“He's the boss,” Jayden.

“What? Not likely. All this time, he's just been calling that Roban's unlucky. It was also in a really precarious moment. Roban usually uses a video call and he.” Marcel paused for a while before continuing. “He just called regular. Voice only. No pictures.” Marcel realized his own words. “He's the boss!”

Jayden shook his head, amused at Marcel's attitude. While Marcel was confused, he had used his parachute. One of his shoulders was pressed by the backpack. Blood seeped out of the jacket and soaked the handle of the backpack.

“Now, stay in place!” Jayden gave his next instructions.

“What do you want? Jump out of the plane in a shootout like this?” Marcel sneering. “You're just as stupid as me.”

“Really? Take a look out the window!”

Marcel peeked out from the nearest window. The ICPA aircraft flew quietly despite one part of it emitting black smoke. He was facing another plane. Just one. The two maneuvered nimbly in midair, chased each other, and shot. The scene was exactly what he often saw on the training video.

“ICPA technology cannot be underestimated.” Jayden smiled proudly. “Until we meet again in Marcel prison. Whether it's in ICPA prison or in a local prison. Right now, surely the police are looking for you because of an illegal transfer.”

“What? Wait!”

Marcel no longer sees the window. He saw Jayden already running towards the emergency exit of the plane. In no time at all, Jayden managed to open his emergency exit. It was just when the opponent's fighter plane was shot down and exploded. The explosion that happened too close made everything.

“Sial!” Jayden realized that the gun in his hand had come off. Worse than that, his gun falls and shifts at Marcel. He also has not yet signaled to the ICPA aircraft. Jumping in such a situation is like suicide.

“Jayden! You will pay for this!” Marcel shouted furiously. He's got his gun. Without a second thought, Marcel started shooting while ignoring the tilting plane.

Jayden realized he had eaten his own words. Either he would die by an opponent's shot or die from falling from such a height. Any choice, not good for him. Jayden chose to jump.
