The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Different Room

Alex hope to be greeted by greeting ‘you are safe here’. That's a phrase he's heard a lot from Jayden. Alex wondered if Jayden would talk to his sister, to the real Jason. Perhaps they were often in dangerous conditions and the only way Jayden could calm his sister was with that line.

Of course, he was not welcomed with it. He was greeted by a heartbreaking white light that kept moving. Until he finally realized that he was the one who was moving. He was on top of a train that was rolling smoothly. When the scene above his head turned low and yellowish, Alex did not recognize where he was.

He did not wake up in the Zetta Sonic room, but in another room that looks more like a large hospital ICU room complete with various equipment and glass walls. The first thing Alex did was check his hands. The hand was tied to a bandage connected to his shoulder. Alex doesn't have to check his shoulder, he just needs to make sure that his hand is there, still connected to his body.

While sighing softly, the memories of the fight came back. Fires, rubble and debris, as well as Damon and the professor. His stomach was nauseous as those memories floated on the surface.

“Alex,” doctor Vanessa's soft voice made her turn to the edge of the room. He could see the doctor Vanessa rushing over. She was in a pink sweater outfit as well as a white doctor suit.

“Doctor?” Alex's reply sounded like a question. His voice was so soft that even he himself did not hear it clearly.

“Oh, thank goodness. You scared us,” doctor Vanessa said.

“Ya, I also.” Alex must admit that he himself is afraid of his own condition. At least, his body parts were still complete and he was still alive. Alex cleared his throat to make it feel better. “Where are we?”

“Main headquarters ICPA.”

That means they're not at Special Force headquarters. They are at the ICPA headquarters led by Fergus. Something had happened that made them unable to return to the Special headquarters. Alex was afraid to ask, but that feeling was defeated by curiosity.

“What happened, doc?”

“You fainted. Losing a lot of blood and getting burns. But, it was fortunate that there was a protective uniform as well as Dragon Blood. That power makes you recover much faster.”

Alex felt a sense of heat and stabbing in his shoulder still within the limits of tolerance. Alex guessed from the painkillers as well. In addition, Alex also felt his entire body hurt. Considering he was beaten up, that's natural. His body feels heavy. Perhaps Dragon Blood itself had exhausted all of its energy.

“What we lost him?” Alex asked again without daring to mention a name.

Doctor Vanessa was silent for a moment. There was no answer from him other than a faint smile. “It wasn't your fault.”

“What's the reason why we can't go back to Special Force headquarters?” ask Alex again. “Because Damon is out there? He knows where our base is. Even if we have made it seem like it was moved, it is safer to stay away from that place for a while. So?” Alex explained exactly what Nadira said a moment ago to Vanessa's doctor. The boy explained it right.

“The most important thing right now is your recovery.”

“Where's Tiger?” Alex looked at his doctor. “He's alive, ‘kan?”

Doctor Vanessa was about to answer but the door of the room was open. Emil in pushing a wheelchair. Tiger was sitting there. His large body seemed claustrophobic on the chair. His hands were bandaged to the fingers.

Alex forced himself to get up to see more clearly. There were various greetings and a little joke on his mind. But none of them came out of there. He found himself only silent. His throat was sore, his cheeks were hot. Alex held back whatever was about to come out of his eyes.

“You asked at the right time boy,” Tiger said. “I'm still alive with some cracked bones and one date tooth. I've had worse. Long ago. In the free fight ring.”

Doctor Vanessa shook her head. “I don't remember giving you permission to leave the bed, Tiger. And, you, Emil. What are you doing here? I thought Nadira told you to help researchers find out about the bacteria.”

“It's not bad news?” guess Dr. Vanessa again.

“Oh, that's bad news. It's just that Fergus sent another agent to check it out. I went to Tiger's room. He wants to come here.”

Tiger glanced at Emil who was moving to the edge of Alex's bed. “What bacteria are we talking about?”

“Not a big thing.” Emil brought his face closer to Alex's bandaged shoulder. “This is the first time I've seen this kind of incident. Most people must have been killed. It's a laser gun. Its power can destroy brick walls. But, you still look fine. Dragon Blood is terrible.”

Feeling neglected, Tiger asked again. “Bacteria what did you mean earlier?”

“Remember Rando? The liquid he was carrying contained bacteria.”

“What bacteria is it?”

“Toxic bacteria. We haven't received a ransom demand. Just relax.”

“Huh? So, they think they can ask for a ransom, huh? Old tricks. I hope Fergus can stop him quickly. Otherwise, Nadira can change his position. ICPA does not negotiate with criminals, ‘kan?

Alex took turns glancing at Tiger and Emil. The conversation had changed on a topic he did not understand. “Ransom? What are you guys talking about?”

“Some criminals are trying to take this city of ours as hostages. For example, there used to be a bomb installed in a government building. They are asking for ransom if they do not want the place destroyed,” Tiger said.

“Here? The capital? I don't remember anything like that.”

“Indeed. That's what ICPA is for. We are tasked with preventing crime from happening. I remember when Jayden hacked into their system. They cannot use the telephone and internet. No ransom demand was received by the government. ICPA reverses conditions. We make those criminals like rats in a trap.” Tiger smiled knot. “If I thought about it, I was amazed at Jayden as well. He's really deft.”

Tiger's words made the atmosphere in the room change. They no longer have Jayden, now they also don't have professor Otto. They could not even return to their headquarters which should be the safest place in the capital.

At that moment, Alex recalled their other members. “Where is Jason?”

Emil patted his forehead. “Gosh.”

“Don't tell me you left it at headquarters.”

“Indeed. I left it there. He's been busy. Make something. While we get the job. So, I left it there.”

Alex felt his breathing hunt down in anxiety. “Then, quickly bring him here!”

“Switch a little. Jason can take care of himself.”
