The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic

They should still be able to retreat. Tiger did not do it. He took his own rifle. Not a handgun, but a long shotgun belonging to the ICPA. Tiger clearly had no intention of running this time.

“You want to get off?” whispered Emil.

“We see what he wants,” replied Tiger. He has unlocked the car. Before opening the door, she looked at Alex. “You can drive better than Emil.”

Alex grinned. “I don't take orders from you.” The grin grew wider when Tiger glared at him. It was a much better reaction than his shadow. “You're not the only one who memorized that car.”

“Causible. You've been up.”

“I think he wants to talk to me.”

“She can use better way.” Tiger prepared his weapon, was about to move down. When his hand touched the doorknob, he realized that the back door of the car had opened first. “Hei! Boy!”

Tiger's protest was no longer heard because Alex had come down.

Seeing Alex's presence there, the driver of the blue car went down. A young man was thin, wearing a black leather jacket, curly hair, as well as sunglasses that camouflaged his face. No gun, no screaming. Gavin River appeared with the same aura as Alex's memories.

In the ICPA car, Emil also gawked. “You know that Gavin River?”

Tiger who did not come down from the car only raised his eyebrows. He doesn't have to answer that question. Tiger remembered the car that had entered the Special Force headquarters. Gavin once saved Alex. Let's hope that he intends to do the same this time.

At his position away from the car, Alex knocks on Zet-Arm. He wanted to make sure that Emil and Tiger could hear his conversation with Gavin.

“You should be able to contact me by email or phone number.” Alex stretched his hand into the air. “If it's something more important than the final of the ball game, I forgive you. Otherwise, please remove your car from the road immediately. I'm going home and watching.”

An unfriendly greeting and another lie from Alex. He was not a person who would spend an entire night staying up late to watch a ball match on another continent. He's more willing to stay up late for hacking. Of course, he chose to sleep when offered the option.

Gavin never once took off his glasses. “We talk in my car.”

Alex grunts amusedly. “What makes you think I want to go up there?”

“If you don't want people in your house involved, follow me.”

“You lied.”

“No need to believe me. You have many ways to find out for yourself.” Gavin turned around, back in his car. The agent is right. Alex can check out the house.

An uneasy feeling reached Alex. He doesn't know what to say. Who're they? Why are his house people involved? Could it be that those people were already waiting for him at home? How did Gavin get there? You know, Alex has stepped into Gavin's car.

“Safety belt.” Gavin spoke just as Alex had sat down.

Alex didn't reply. He was wearing a seatbelt and immediately Gavin was gassing.

Alex just pulled his phone. He could see his home security system following the streets around him. There are some foreign cars there. There are at least two box cars, one black van, and an open-roof jeep — exactly like the one that chased him earlier. Alex could see they were holding the exact same weapon.

“Trust me?” ask Gavin.

Alex didn't reply right away. He watched Gavin's expression. The man's eyes were hidden behind his glasses. From the side, Alex only knew that Gavin concentrated on driving without bothering to look at him.

Still refusing to answer, Alex let his gaze run down each side of the car. The most prominent thing in there is a square screen in the center of the dashboard. There are neon blue lights that move around the black screen. Once seen, Alex can guess that this car is equipped with artificial intelligence that is quite sophisticated. A car with technology that ICPA is proud of.

Alex finally started with a simple question. “What are you doing here? Reply?”

“Are you going to believe that I answered ‘ya’?” Gavin's answer was cold.

“Maybe.” Alex doesn't want to lose. He didn't want Gavin to believe him. With such an ambiguous answer, Alex wanted to test the agent. To be honest, Alex doesn't believe it. He did not believe Gavin had set out from the continent of Regis to Sinde just to return the favor.

“Then, believe me. There are still many good people in this world.”

Alex frowned at Gavin's response. The man did not look good in his eyes. But he has to admit. “Good. You're better than those gunmen. Maybe.” Alex puts emphasis on the end of his sentence.

Gavin. Just briefly. However, there was clearly a faint smile there.

Alex asked back. “Who are they?”

“The group of assassins I let get away from Regis. You must not believe how much the head of Zetta Sonic is worth on the site of a hit man.”

“I can guess.” Alex took a short breath. He knew the Zetta Sonic had become the enemy of many criminals. The question is not there but about his personal identity. “Nobody knows who Zetta Sonic is except—”

“Special Force? Me?” guess Gavin.

“You leaked on them?”

Gavin immediately laughed. “If I was on their side, I'd have killed you by now. Why bother telling you to come along at this time?”

“Then, how can they know?”

Gavin clucked in annoyance. “I don't know about that either. At the moment, there are only two possibilities. One, they know the identity of Zetta Sonic. Two... It's about another ICPA.” Gavin did not continue.
