The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Big Fire

Alex thought he would never wake up again. However, realizing that he could think of it, Alex realized that he had woken up. In fact, he was staring at an unfamiliar wooden ceiling. The wooden beams are arranged overlapping one another in a typical pattern of a cottage.

Taking a deep breath, Alex researched the surrounding conditions. If it passes through the part where the cottage has a brick wall with ivory paint and a chandelier, then the place will be exactly like the shadow. A log cabin in the forest. With a modern touch like the bed he was in, Alex even got the impression he was in the cottage inn.

The view outside the window was not clearly visible. There was darkness but also the light that occasionally swayed.

Alex lifted up his body. Don't ask her how she feels pain anywhere. Don't even bother to check if there are bruises on his body. Only one surprised him at the time.

“Why don't you tie me up!?” he said half yelled at Gavin who just came in.

Gavin. He closed the door slowly. His gaze swept over the conditions outside the window right beside the door. “You are making the villagers confused. Like me. Is that your first question when you wake up? Don't you wonder where we are?”

“I thought you caught me.”

“No. You think I betrayed you.”

“You sold me,” Alex said again. His words made Gavin shake his head and let out a long sigh. The man half-throws a paper pack on the nightstand. Alex added, “At least, I think so.”

“I brought you here to save you and the innocent people of Zetta Sonic. Like you said yourself, right?”

Alex nodded. Agree. “Then, why don't you tie me?”

Again, Gavin sighed. “That's not my fragrance. Here, the supreme authority is with the chieftain. If he says you don't need to be handcuffed, I won't push him. He thinks he can handle it if something bad happens. After all, he said to treat us like guests. His personal advisor who shot you with an anesthetic bullet will offer his apology later.”

“Later?”

“He invited us to dinner. For now, wear it.”

Alex looked at the paper bag on the nightstand. Inside was a necklace with a green round stone pendulum. Alex sees that Gavin is wearing the exact same necklace on his chest. His band was exposed between his shirt which opened to his chest.

Gavin added. “Think it's some kind of visitor pass. Make sure your necklace is visible. If not, there will be a tribe member who catches you.”

Alex according. He took the necklace in his hand. When the green pendulum touched his skin, Alex gasped. He thought he would feel cold on his skin, instead of hot. The pendulum felt so hot on his skin. Reflexes, the necklace was thrown to the ground.

“What do you do?” Gavin protest. He picked up the necklace and checked it. “If this breaks, I have to ask for one more make—”

“You don't feel hot?”

Alex pursed his lips. He had heard and seen things that were unnatural. Alex shook his head, driving it all out of his mind. That's not what he's talking about right now. He wanted to talk more about the pendulum. “The bump is like burning my skin,” Alex said.

Gavin was silent for a moment.

“What is it because I have Dragon Blood in me?” Alex asked me. He doesn't believe in things like magic and all that. However, ever since dealing with ICPAs and fighting monsters, it seems Alex has had to start accepting the existence of such things.

Gavin. “I don't know about that. But, at least, tie this on your shirt or somehow. Make sure the necklace looks.”

Alex now wears a grey jacket in addition. He found the jacket in a closet. The chieftain had not only accepted them as guests but had prepared various things there. For example, there are two beds, a wardrobe filled with clothes, a table with a basket of fruit and water, a reading book in their language, and a bathroom in the room. Alex fastens the necklace carefully on the strap in the hood of the jacket. He doesn't want to touch his band again. Only then did he and Gavin leave the house.

Alex paused for a moment at the door. He can't believe what he saw.

There were no log huts, only brick houses. They are painted in various colors. Some of them even have paintings on the walls. Each house is connected by a walkway arranged from the rock. There were torch lights on the street. It was not a real torch but a torch of electricity. The yellow light that illuminated the path occasionally swayed. There was also a row of lush plants that rustled with every cold wind greeting. Fireflies flew closer and farther away, making the grains of light dance.

Gavin turned to the child who was still sculpting it. “Beautiful, right?”

Alex patting. He did not find himself in an outback tribe. He found himself in a tropical resort. He misses the holidays. Unfortunately, this was not the holiday he wanted. At that time, Alex asked as Gavin wished. “Where are we?”

Gavin did not answer. He smiled and walked. Alex had to follow in silence. They also walked down a long path that widened. There was a bright light from a distance accompanied by a low boisterous sound as well as a drumbeat. Alex found it without a long time.

There is a field in the middle of the village. There, there were tribal people standing around a huge blaze. They dress like people in the city. No clothes from the leaves, no faces painted, no accessories from the teeth of beasts. Unless, of course, the dancers.

The tribesmen who saw Alex and Gavin's presence lowered their heads. Some of them shifted so they could see more clearly. There were at least ten people dancing around the huge fire. The dancers wear clothes from leaves as well as headdresses from fur, their bodies painted in white and red paint, their necks decorated by necklaces from the teeth of wild animals. On the other hand, the drummers lined up neatly and played music non-stop.

Gavin stopped quite far from the dancers. Alex stood beside him. The heat of the great fire was felt from that position. At least, they had little room to freely move. No tribe wants to be close to both.

Alex circulated his gaze and only realized that there was a large building behind the big fire. The building is made of wood. It was almost five times the height of the houses around. The fur ornaments poked out from each pillar. Although the shape of the building is not clearly visible, its size is quite intimidating.

“That's it,” whispered Gavin.

“Who?” Alex squinted his eyes. He saw a man walking down the stairs in front of the large building. A man in a white robe and wearing a large garnish of fowl feathers.

“Si chieftain. Tesiana.”
