The silence made Gavin finally dare to raise his head. He was greeted with a horrible sight. Zetta Sonic is strangling his increasingly defenseless opponent. Several members of the tribe were seen to have taken aim but none of them actually opened fire. Gavin knows someone has to stop Alex.
Gavin ran to the back of the boat where his backpack lay. He had thrown away his gun but that did not mean he was unarmed. Gavin's got another gun he's hiding. One of them is in the disguise of a cigar box. Before Gavin could even find it, he saw a white object whizzing fast.
Jason, the drone, is behind Alex.
[Drop him or I'll have to shoot you!]
Gavin blinked in disbelief. The sound was heard from the drone. Not the sound of the system but the sound of the maker. Jayden. Gavin undoes his intention of looking for a gun and runs to the front of the ship again.
[Drop him! Now!] Jayden gave the order again after seeing that Alex did not respond.
This time, Alex looked back. He turned to Jason, towards his single eye. There's Jayden back there looking at what he's doing right now. The man can stop it. Half-self Alex hopes Jayden does it soon, the Barb Wire protocol. The other half, under the annoyance and influence of Dragon Blood, chose to rebel.
Alex took off his grip. He did not do so because he obeyed the orders of the opponent. He did it to overcome his bully first. It's Jason!
Whether it was his wish or not. Alex lunged at Jason. He pulled the drone into the water with him. No matter how much Jason dodged, the maneuver was no match for Zetta Sonic. Jason shoots laser beams that injure Zetta Sonic's uniform. His attack meant nothing much after his body was immersed in the water. Alex's hand gripped him tightly, making huge cracks.
[What are you doing?] Jayden yells through Jason. [Alex! Control yourself!]
Alex replied in a low growl and not hers.
[Alex! Fight it! This isn't you! You have reached this place. Don't give up here. Kloster Tribe will help you. Meet— su— dia— Dragon Blood—] Jayden's voice began to falter. Jason's lights flickered rapidly. The system breaks down in the water faster than usual. [Alex! Please! A— Believe—]
The low grunts sounded clearer.
[Damn! Come on, A— Fight it!] Never mind using the Barb Wire protocol, Jayden can't even speak clearly now. [A— A—]
Alex sinks deeper and deeper with the white drone. His single eye blinked a few times before dimming until it finally went out. There are no more voices from either of them now. Alex's hand finally releases Jason. The drone sank alone and Alex just stared at it in silence.
He remembered the video of the mission. Video of Jayden and his brother, Jason — is not the drone. He doesn't know how Jason died. He only knew that Jason was killed. I don't know why it feels similar to his current condition. He destroyed a drone made by Jayden that was deliberately named Jason.
There were two things Alex was grateful for at the time. First, he had regained control of himself. Secondly, he did not need to do anything to arrive at the surface. His body was pushed up without the need for effort. Alex took a deep breath, using that silence to calm himself down. Enough already! He's run away from all this. He doesn't want to take any more victims. He wants to be stopped.
Alex stomps his feet when his head appears on the water. He jumped on the canoe of the white mask. The movement sparked gunfire from Kloster tribe members. Just like before, there was no significant damage they had made to Alex's combat uniform.
The white mask keeps his body low so as not to be hit by stray bullets. Both hands held weapons. One hand holds a handgun, the other hand holds a long stick. He's ready to attack when Alex moves. Of course Alex's movements did not match his predictions.
Instead of attacking, Alex raised both hands. One by one the Kloster stopped firing. They were as confused as the white mask and Gavin. Next, Alex knelt down slowly without making the canoe shake. That's not the peak yet. Because in the end, Alex disables his combat uniform.
“Do not shoot, please,” pinta Alex. His voice vibrates. She's afraid. Not to those people but to themselves. “I can't control it. But, he said you can help me. Because of that..” Alex stops. He doesn't know what to say anymore.
The white mask did not answer. He himself seemed hesitant to speak.
Alex suddenly heard a voice whizzing through the air almost simultaneously with the pain in his right shoulder. He glanced over to see there was a red feather there. A red feather of some sort of short arrow stuck on his shoulder. Alex was about to pull it off but his body felt powerless. Drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, all mixed into one. His world turned and ended with a view of the sampan floor. He could still see how a pair of feet stepped closer before it all ended in black.
Seeing that, Gavin could only budge on his own boat. Their distance is far enough. He could see how they shot Alex with an anesthetic bullet. The shooter had not even fully appeared when carrying out the attack.
From the other side of the river further away, another black sampan appeared. The person standing on it was a muscular man with black skin due to the sunburn. Her hair was shaved. Now, there is a labyrinth-like tattoo that fills his head to his neck. He wore a red woven scarf over his black clothes. In his hand, he carried a kind of long flute decorated with two strands of red feathers. The intricate carvings that were there almost resembled his labyrinth tattoo. Gavin had heard that the chieftain had a bamboo distill advisor. Only, he did not expect that the advisor used his flute to shoot the dope arrow.
This new sampan moves ahead of other canoes until it arrives in front of Gavin's ship. The look they meet. The tattooed man nodded at him. “The tribal chief is waiting for you at the hall. He knows you guys will come sooner or later.”
Gavin nodded.
The tattooed man continued. “But, this time, completely unarmed. Leave all your stuff here. We will provide everything you need.”
