Alex immediately moved from his position. A little annoyed, a little excited because the trial mission is not over yet. If the first tiger had been there, his friend might have been there too. And, sure enough. Alex finds the other tiger eating, turning his back on him. When squinting, Alex knew this tiger was enjoying fresh meat. Cut meat, not the animal he killed. Maybe it was his food.
[Shoot!] Jayden reigning.
Looks like this animal is more sensitive. Alex had just raised a gun, the tiger had turned around. It was smaller than the first tiger. His movements were more agile and fast. Alex gasps. He did not expect that. Given that the first tiger could be toppled easily, Alex thought the second tiger was just as easy.
Alex rolled over on the ground while the tiger landed beside him. Alex got up and backed off. This time, he could feel the power of Dragon Blood within him. He couldn't move that fast before. Without Dragon Blood, he would have been hit by the attack. In addition, he also had a chance to see the green.
Not from the opponent, but himself. This sounded crazy, but Alex was pretty sure seeing the green musk in his eyes. More precisely, Alex sensed a faint green smoke coming out from his eyes when the power of Dragon Blood took over.
Unfortunately, there was no time to think about it any further. His opponent has snarled. He was ready to attack again.
[See your blood pressure and heart rate are rising now. You scared? Overly excited?] Jayden asked.
Alex did not answer. His opponent came again. With that speed and that fast jump, Alex has to do something. He couldn't keep dodging attacks. A little panicked, Alex hit the trash can. The barrel fell with him. This is definitely not an advantage for him. While trying to stand up and clean up, the tiger came again. This time, Alex was unable to escape.
The tiger landed on it. Alex reflex's hand held the big cat's head before tearing him apart. Damn, one of the tiger's claws pressed against his chest. Alex coughed. This big cat was clearly as heavy as it looked. His mouth was open, showing pointy teeth and spreading an unpleasant aroma.
“Soaring!” Alex exclaims. Again, he saw a green light in his eyes. Along with the appearance of the phenomenon, the Dragon Blood within him reacted. The opponent's weight feels light. With a slight push, Alex pushed the tiger to the ground. Alex hurriedly stood up before the attack came again.
Even if you live in a circus, the tiger is still a wild animal. His voice sounded again. The attack is coming. Alex ready. But the tiger did not jump. He flinched in his position for a few seconds before finally collapsing.
Alex doesn't have to ask what's causing it. He saw a tiny four-winged drone was behind the tiger. There was a tiny funnel underneath that was being folded up back into the body of the drone.
“Jayden, what is you?” Alex asked. His voice was shaking, shocking.
[Yes. You all right?]
“You shot this tiger?” Alex still can't believe how Jayden can monitor everything from a height using a drone. Jayden was even able to shoot his target. “Why didn't you shoot him from the beginning?” Alex's protest followed.
Jayden chuckles at it. [Hey, we're here to try out the power of the Zetta Sonic, not the sophistication of my tiny drone. Now, get your stuff done and get out of there. I'll give a report to Nadira.]
Alex rolled his gaze around while the drone had already flown back first. Jayden obviously didn't tell him to clean up the trash cans. He asked Alex to pick up the dope gun he had dropped earlier. Take the opportunity to observe the area. This circus seems like it would be nice to be visited at the right time, not when there are pets loose.
Jayden's car is still parked outside the fence. Alex passed through the same door, not forgetting to put the chain up and re-lock it. Then he got into the car. Jayden just finished reporting. One hand holds the phone, the other holds the drone. Jayden tidied up the equipment, put it in the back seat, then ran the car again in the direction they came.
“You're okay? Still a little shocked?” Jayden opened the conversation.
Alex mumbled slowly. His gaze was glued out the window. He realized that they were passing through the toll entrance and headed towards the middle of the city. The crowd looks clearer. Cars passed by, pedestrians filled the sidewalks, tall buildings lined the streets.
“If you feel sick or bad, let me know immediately. Professor Otto is now looking into your data with doctor Vanessa,”, Jayden continued. “They can monitor your body condition from that bracelet. Bracelet Zetta Sonic.”
Alex mutters. He doesn't want to talk. It wasn't out of annoyance at Jayden and the fact that they were able to shoot the two tigers early using drones. Not because a tiger's claws litter his clothes. Except because he felt useless. Deep down, Alex hopes his powers make something spectacular. Something that impressed everyone. Unfortunately, he did not know how to use Dragon Blood which made him the Zetta Sonic. This operation does not equip itself with manual books and video tutorials.
Alex just realized his car had stopped. They were in the underground parking lot of a building. There are other cars there too. Some people just got out of the elevator, they got into the car, and went away. Meanwhile, there was one new biker coming. Behind him, there was another sedan. There was also a group of people wearing suits and carrying thin suitcases. The place is obviously quite crowded.
“Use this!” Jayden thrusts a plain black baseball cap on Alex. “We don't want anyone to know you're ditching.”
“What do we do here?” Alex asked while wearing a hat without protest.
“Breakfast. I know you haven't had time to touch your breakfast this morning.”
“Tiger sent it to my place at six in the morning. I don't eat breakfast that early.”
“I know. It's in data.”
Alex let out a long, slightly made-up sigh. “What else do you know?”
“I know like to eat bread in the morning. The raisin bread here is pretty good and the coffee is amazing. That's more important.” Jayden opened the car door, looking up at the stairs to the ground floor. “There is a small cafe here. Little tight. So, we better eat in the car.”
Alex's curiosity slowly returned. They crossed the parking lot leading to a gray staircase in one corner. The stairs lead straight to the cafe in question Jayden. The cafe is small and full of visitors. The queue even went outside. The majority are office workers in the building itself.
“What raisin bread here is really good?” Alex saw some cafe customers out carrying hot coffee and paper packs. He himself was in the last line. It didn't take long, there were other people behind him. “What do they sell?”
“Many. Just choose as you like.” Jayden then realized something else. “You still have appetite even if you have just been attacked by a tiger, ‘kan?”
Alex didn't think he was smiling at the time. “I'm starving.”
“You should eat a lot. Otherwise, he will rob you of your energy.”
“Basic parasites.”
“What? It's not a parasite! Think of it like a baby. Pregnant women and babies.”
Alex giggles at hearing it. An analogy that he would not think of. They're both men. His mood, somehow, improved a little. “So, you'll drive me home after this? Rover too?”
“You don't want to go home?”
Alex raised his shoulders, unsure of the answer he was about to throw.
“Wait a minute!” jayden said, holding a bluetooth earphone in his ear.
Unlike Alex, Jayden did not let go after leaving the circus. Then, he picked up the phone and checked something there. Alex tried to peek. The screen shows a series of data before changing into a row of CCTV footage. Whatever it was, Jayden's face changed.
“By the way, I just remembered there was a bakery that tasted better than this. Come!” Jayden pulled Alex's arm, led him out of line.
