The Zetta Sonic
Room

Gavin got an empty room for the night's rest on the third floor of the underground or X-03, like the other agents. Emil's the one who took Gavin to his room. Then, he himself returned to the bottom floor to meet Jayden. Both Jayden and Tiger had gathered in Zetta Sonic's room.

The room was probably the one that changed the most. The walls are covered with black panels. There is a light in the form of a green line stretching there, dividing the lower and upper sides asymmetrically. The lamp at the top itself is a line crossing each other, dividing the ceiling into four equal parts. This lamp is white. The intensity of the light there can be set. Currently, his condition was left quite dim.

Alex's bed is in the corner, flanked by complicated mechanisms on the right and left sides. The bed itself has a white frame on the edges. If needed, the bed can close like a capsule. Alex was lying there, still using a respirator. His eyes were closed, he was asleep, his condition was stable.

Doctor Vanessa is on the other side of the room. There, there is a high table complete with chairs. They defend this section to chat. Tiger sat across from the female doctor who enjoyed a warm tan. Jayden stood by the bed. His eyes rolled from Alex to the indicator screens.

Doctor Vanessa says there's nothing to worry about. Alex's injuries weren't bad. He had also replenished Dragon Blood's power. His condition recovered quickly. Dragon Blood played a big role in that healing.

Emil moved slowly behind her. “You blame him?”

“Nadira?” guess Jayden, turn to his juniors.

“He pulled Tiger in the last moment. Make Alex alone. The robot came beyond expectations. Alex needs help. He didn't get it. Not at the right time. She's alone.”

Jayden shakes. “Maybe it's true on one side. On the other hand, Alex must be prepared to face all the dangers alone. It was Zetta Sonic. Agents that are indeed designed to deal with things beyond the limits of human ability.”

Jayden doesn't deny that he's upset. Initially, Tiger was near the town hall. He's getting ready for things outside the plan. Unfortunately, things outside the plan actually come from their own leaders. ICPA acquires international fugitives. Nadira asks Tiger to help him. Tiger only went forty-five minutes. Chaos ensued. Despite the fact that Nadira told Tiger to leave, Alex had to prepare himself. And there lies the real problem.

Alex was never groomed as an ICPA agent.

Emil is leaving. Followed Tiger. Then, doctor Vanessa.

The day just changed. Jayden was sitting on the chair right next to the bed. Even though his eyes were closed, he did not sleep at all. It's not because of his job to look after Alex. Alex doesn't need to be guarded. They can leave the condition to those machines. If anything happens, doctors Vanessa and Jayden will be notified.

Jayden was there to calm himself down. He wants to help everyone, starting with himself. He wants to be a reliable operator for Zetta Sonic in the field. He may not be physically present there. At least, there's Jason the drone in his stead. With Alex, they should be a couple to stop the crime.

“J? Is this a new room for me?”

Alex's quiet voice made Jayden stand up straight from his chair. The boy had woken up, he was taking off the device that covered his nose and mouth. Jayden couldn't help but smile. Alex looks just like the usual Alex.

“This is a new room Zetta Sonic,” replied Jayden. “This room was indeed made for you.”

“You're supposed to make a welcoming party or something. My memories of the new headquarters never began with sweet.” Alex recalled the first time he woke up in the room. Although the interior is slightly changed, the similarity to the ceiling helps Alex remember it.

“How do you feel? You almost drowned and ..” Jayden stopped, not wanting to continue his sentence.

Alex turned his gaze from Jayden to the ceiling. “I don't know.” Just like Jayden, Alex doesn't want to talk about it. He recognized that fear. He doesn't want to remember. He doesn't want to feel it anymore. Although on the other hand, he knew that the feeling could come back at any time when he was fighting another killer robot.

“Gavin here.”

“Not also. The current situation is quite favorable for us.” Jayden has explained a little of his plans about getting Gavin to take a side. He has also outlined his latest discovery about human smuggling.  Alex doesn't need to feel indebted if he manages to help Gavin's girlfriend. And, it has to happen. Those who were kidnapped must be saved.

“You found where they are?”

Jayden nodded once. “Above the ship.”

Alex moving. His body feels heavy. His stomach feels sore. At least he could force his body to sit down without needing any help. “We will catch up and save them, ‘kan?”

“Actually doctor Vanessa said that you should not sit down first.” Jayden's warning came too late. He took a short breath. “Listen Alex, Zetta Sonic is our US card. You are hurt. Don't force yourself. Nadira will send another group as well. Even if I'm not sure if they can come on time.”

“Hey, I can get in action. I'm Zetta Sonic.” Alex crossed his arms in front of his chest, throwing a knotty smile.

“Since when did you get excited about saving those people. I thought you were like Nadira, preferring to look for killer robots rather than abductees.” Jayden. “Did you see something in the city hall?”

“Nothing. I just thought that they should be top priority.”

Alex can't say it and won't reveal it. He didn't want Jayden to know that he saw his own mother but couldn't greet her. His mother didn't say he was going back to the capital. It made Alex feel a little like a kidnap victim. They both wanted to shout to be noticed but could not.

“When are we leaving?” Alex throws a question.

“I haven't even slept.” Jayden frowned and laughed. “I love to see you excited so. At five in the morning, we'll be leaving. Fifteen minutes before, we should've been at the gathering point. The plane is being prepared now. So does your rocket.”

Alex grunting. “I can't say that rocket is fun.”

“You chose to get off the ship with a parachute?”

“Of course not!” Alex rubbed his chin.

“What do you think?”

“You think Gavin is reliable?”

“Tiger and I have to admit that he's a very good agent. According to the data, he had several times completed complicated missions by himself. Not just any agent can get a vacation for a whole month. That's one proof of that.”

“Alright if you think so.”

“One note, Alex. Dependable does not mean to be trusted.”
