Alex took a deep breath. He can't believe it's his turn to be pulled. Inevitably, he also raised his hand. Jayden pulled the mask and the hood off, exposing his face. Conditions are unfavorable for Alex and could be long-tail even if he can get out of this underground facility.
“You are much younger than I thought. How old are you?” Jayden asked, curious.
“Fifteen. Wh why? Problems for you?”
Jayden frowned behind his glasses. He had guessed it before. Even so, hearing his guess right from Killer Bee's own mouth felt different. He compared himself when he was fifteen. Before his bad memories came out, he took the cable tie out of his pocket. “Call yourself.”
“You're gonna arrest me? It was not a wise decision.”
“Why? You're gonna pay me to let you go?” Jayden chuckled at his own idea, not thinking at all that Alex's pocket money was almost equal to his salary.
“No. Didn't think that way, anyway,” replied Alex. “But, you still need my help. They seem to have been equipped with diving equipment.”
Jayden slumped this time. His head looked towards the next room filled with reservoir water. “What!? How could they carry such a device? ******* what kind of are these people? It-- Run!” Jayden had not finished nagging when one of the troops opened fire on the door glass.
Alex realized the strange feeling he had felt. Those guys are wearing pretty weird helmets. There's a bulging section at the bottom. It might contain spare air. Then Alex won't be able to use the anesthetic capsule on them.
“Now, what's the plan?”
“Waiting for help and stay alive.”
“That doesn't sound like a plan.”
“It wasn't a plan. That's a fact that will come true in a few moments.”
The two ran in an underground facility without any heat. The place has a good and sophisticated ventilation system is also certainly expensive. Alex could see how much of the latest technology was being used there. That was as much advanced equipment as he had never seen before. Some were even owned by Jayden who was leading the way.
Behind them, safety doors fell from the sky. It looks like Jayden locked as much as possible so they could survive. Jayden stopped at the front crossroad. Not because of the wrong way or lost, but because the lighting around them suddenly became red. The white hallways were now flooded with blood-like red rays. Not only that, the roar of alarm sounded deafening.
“I'm pretty sure this isn't a fire alarm” Alex guessed.
“Not. That's Zetta Sonic.” alarm Jayden could feel the horror crawling around him. “Someone has forcibly opened the room Zetta Sonic!”
“You said you've enabled additional security.”
“It looks like we need more extras.” Next, he took the passageway on the right.
Alex followed behind him. They went through the other side of the glass wall. This time it's a little different. There was a faint green light deep within the darkness. Something sparkling in the dark of the water. Without warning, the white lights lit up. They illuminate a glass dome built in the middle of the water.
The dome reminds Alex of the snow globe that is often brought by the mother as a souvenir. In addition to different sizes, this glass dome does not have water in it. He himself was in the water. A tall pillar stood in the middle. In the center of the pillar itself was a green glistening tube. Slowly, Alex could see someone coming from below. It looks like the entrance to the dome is only from the bottom because there is no bridge or hallway that connects this building on the glass dome.
Jayden stopped in a dead end hallway. Alex only realized it was an elevator when the glass door behind them closed as Jayden pressed the button on the side.
“Sial! They must have split up earlier!” his gerrick. “Dan, what are you doing here?” Jayden looked at Alex fixedly in his eyes. “If you still want to live, find your own way out! This place is secret.”
“I thought your warning was too late.” Alex is wearing his mask again. I don't know what's on his mind until he can get involved in this kind of thing. As he said, it is too late.
Justright. Before the elevator door opened inside the glass dome, Alex saw a black-clothed male figure like a mob was pointing a gun at them. Her helmet was on the floor, her face adorned with a triumphant smile. While the two colleagues beside him also pointed at weapons while still wearing helmets. Look on the bright side, Alex can use his sleeping capsule on this guy. The rest of them still need a miracle.
When the elevator doors opened, neither Jayden nor Alex dared to step outside.
Instead, the man stepped forward. His face had a burn scar on his right cheek and it seemed quite severe. His hair was cut almost bald. Those pale thin lips developed a wide smile. “Hello, Jayden! Long time no see.”
Jayden slumped and replied fiercely, “Halo, Damon. Should I say it's good to see you? Or... I didn't expect my ex-boss to be alive.”
The man laughed hearing that. “I choose the first. You must have known how the end of conditions like this. Now, get out of there slowly and put your weapons down. I'm happy today, so I don't think anyone will die.”
Jayden glanced at Alex. “I told you you shouldn't be here!”
“I told you you need my help,” reply Alex.
“Really? You still talk like that at the moment?” Jayden grumbled, holding his voice so as not to be so loud. He stepped out of the elevator.
“May I ask you something, Jayden?”
“What?”
“What is your shirt bulletproof?”
“No. Why?” Jayden asked as he put his gun on the floor. That's when he realized Alex's plan.
“Then, sleep.”
“What!?” Jayden has not protested.
Alex was crouching on the ground. He threw the anesthetic capsule. Immediately, the entire dome was filled with a dizzying smell accompanied by greenish smoke. Faintly, Alex could hear a noise. Someone has fallen. Maybe Damon or his men. He himself had run far away, docked to the wall. The glass dome was wider than he expected.
Unfortunately, there is no time to be surprised. Alex gasped when he heard the gunshot. The bullet had just been fired and almost hit his body. The bullet slid into the lower wall that was not made of glass. He's lucky this time. Alex hurriedly ran away. He raised his own gun. There was a quarrel going on inside the smoke with the sounds of fists and mockery.
“Don't shoot, stupid! If it gets to”
The gun was heard again. This time, his shot hit a glass wall.
Alex felt a sense of horror and relief in almost unison. The bullet destroyed the first layer of the glass dome. At least there's another glass wall behind it. Alex's eyes observed the smoke slowly dissipating. One man was on the ground. Another one was aiming at him. Jayden and Damon were fighting on their own.
Realizing that he was the target of a gunshot, Alex escapes. His opponent is faster. The bullet hit his leg. Alex yelling. His body fell smashing into the pillar in the middle. Despite the pain, Alex knew he could not push a button or pull any lever around the pillar.
He understood, his opponent did not.
Damon manages to shoot Jayden, knocking the young man down. Next, he approached the pillar, about to take out the sparkling green tube that was inside. Alex can stop it. No one likes it this way, including me.
