Tiger picked up Alex again just like the nights before. This time, Tiger is with Jayden. Jayden sits in the back seat of an SUV. The car is still the same as the car used by Alex. No additional or additional features. Not a big deal indeed. Professor Otto didn't say anything about cars. Alex just hopes the new stuff is more than he expected.
Alex peeked back. Jayden cross-legged laptop in a black jumper hat. His eye bags are still there. His ears were covered in headsets. A voice from within occasionally sounded out. Kind of like hip hop. His face was grim, showing a different feel to the song that was being heard. Alex didn't want to guess.
“Let him alone!” pinta Tiger's. “He's busy calibrating Jason.”
“Jason? Who's that?”
“Drone hers. I heard you started naming stuff. So, he co-founded a name for the technology. Flipad and now Jason, the attack drone or reinforcements. You don't think Jason's like ICPA's mini killer robot?”
That sounds similar. However, Alex was lazy to comment. He was more interested in commenting on the name Jason gave the drone. “Why Jason? From Jayden’s son? Jayden's son? That kind?” Alex grunts amusedly.
“Ask him. You will be surprised by the reason.”
Alex looked back again. He saw a small drone inside the open suitcase. At a glance, the drone is not much different from the drone that has been working with him. The shape is indeed slightly larger, one and a half ranges of adult hands. Still similar flying saucers with three pairs of legs folded neatly on each side. Its white color ornate green stripes surround the bright green marbles in the middle.
Jayden threw his gaze forward. “What?” jayden asked while keeping one side of the headset away from his ear.
“Nothing. Continue your work!” Alex regrets looking back now.
“If you are looking for your uniform and belongings, all are here.” Jayden handed a simple black backpack to her. “I've uploaded the manual to Zet-Arm. Read first and ask me if there is something unclear.”
That backpack is heavier than Alex's shadow. He returned facing forward while unpacking the contents one by one. He found the Zetta Sonic emblem inside, a shield of five with a green star that could be suppressed. That's the uniform, Alex doesn't have to ask. He found one laser gun, one rope-hook shooter bracelet, and a drinking bottle.
“Only this?” Alex frowning.
“You want to ask me or her?” Tiger nodded without looking.
Their car was speeding on the highway. The streets are still crowded even though it is past eleven o'clock at night. Tiger took a turn at the front crossroad. They're heading towards the pier.
“Don't say we'll get on board.” Alex does not expect their journey to continue on a ship. The factory was only a few dozen kilometers away from the capital. They can reach it by car for two hours.
“Not me who set the path.”
Alex knew Tiger wouldn't talk to him much. He went on to check the other compartments inside the backpack. His hands fumbled the cloth without finding any more stuff. Alex sighs. He brought the emblem closer to his chest. The emblem stuck to his clothes like a magnet.
When he was about to press his star, Alex got another idea. He knew police also used to put their emblems on the belt. So, he pulled the emblem off and brought it closer to his belt covered in a T-shirt. Alex shifted it to the side, making it not only covered in a T-shirt but also his jacket.
Tiger glanced at him, smiling knotfully, without speaking.
Alex pressed the star inward. The same sensation returned. Alex saw the hexagon pieces coming out from around the emblem. They wrapped his body, his legs, up to his hands. The high boots and gloves are now perfectly fitted. More fitting and not stifling. There was always a cold sensation from his combat uniform. Then, he realized that everything was perfectly covered except for the head.
Alex knew he had to use the manual Jayden had uploaded to Zet-Arm. There's new files. One of them is about uniforms. Alex got his information when he accessed the headgear. He read it quickly and realized the difference in the uniform with his new uniform. Alex pulls the sun shade, revealing the mirror behind it to pay attention to himself.
The front of the uniform looks different. The collar part was high, wrapping around his neck in warmth. Her chest has a V collar chest protector where the Zetta Sonic emblem now appears. There is a line at the bottom of the emblem extending downwards. The shield is made of a special material developed by ICPA. Light as plastic but strong as steel, no wonder he can dampen the impact but still soft to wear. This time his protector was shaped like a waistcoat.
“This is more than I expected.” Alex is amazed.
“Don't forget to praise the professor, as always, and Jayden.”
“Jayden this time working with professor? I can guess that they were also involved in a lot of disputes.”
“More than expected, Sonic.”
Alex smiles at how Tiger tries to get used to calling him Sonic while in the costume.
Alex's combat uniform also has additional padding on the elbows, shoulders, and some other sides of the human muscle tub. Everything is black. The bright green part he could only get from the protective folds near the shoulders and under the emblems. They reflect light well. Alex can arrange it later as desired. As the professor said, Alex also found a part to change the color of his uniform. All in Zet-Arm's control and his mind. The uniform could translate his mind waves instantly. Practical and fast. Alex can't wait to use it.
“We get to.” Tiger runs the car to the quietest and darkest part. There were no other cars and people there besides them. There is no light, just from the car. As soon as Tiger shut off the engine, they were caught in complete darkness. Alex realized how their car was still moving. Something pulled their car.
When he was just about to ask, suddenly a loud sound emerged from the floodlight. Alex finds that they are now in a large container. In front of them was a small runway with a large round object exactly like a gray ball.
“Wait. This is a submarine?” guess Alex.
“You really read the manual. Good boy!” Jayden gave a compliment and then yawned wide. “That's our vehicle to the factory. You know that the factory is near the sea, ‘kan? They built it with a purpose. Smuggling killer robots through submarines.”
Alex nodded, he remembered.
Jayden went down with his laptop and a suitcase with Jason. As they approached the grey ball, the ball shimmered white. There were some faint lines appearing. After the line shimmered, the top and sides of the ball showed their true walls. Anti-pressure transparent glass in round frame.
“They named it SM-302. Just think of a better name, Sonic!” Tiger was already in front of their ball submarine. “I'm the one driving.” As if according to him, the bottom front of the submarine was open.
Before entering, Alex wanted to protest because it was narrow. But, after the three entered, Alex found there was enough room for all of them. All three seats are well-fitting and soft. They face three different sides with different control panels. It's not a matter of sights, this kind of position is effective for detecting attackers.
Alex knew the SM-302 had missile control as well. Unfortunately, the panel in front of Alex is just a navigation pane. The gun panel is in front of Jayden. The panel in front of the Tiger is the only one with a steering wheel. Although Alex believes that later they will use an automatic pilot.
“Anyway browse?” Tiger smiled a smile.
Before Alex could answer or ask how they were going to get into the water, the runway below them vanished, dropping them into the darkness.
