The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Daylight Broad

Alex was sure someone was following them from earlier. Since being inside the university hall building until when they choose a place for lunch. The place is still within the campus area. They have a row of comfortable taverns complete with outdoor and indoor dining.

Jayden chose to sit outside. He doesn't like jostling with strangers in tight spaces. After all, by being outside, they can choose food from various shops. The variety is quite complete. However, when Alex sees only a burger message, Jayden and Emil look at each other. They think the same thing.

“What?” Alex protests when she finds herself the center of attention. Jayden snorted amusedly, Emil turned his gaze instead. “Why? Burger is the safest food when you are confused eating what.”

Jayden nodded once. “Agree.

Even so, there were two food plates in front of him. One is a salad with nuts and another thick noodles with kare seasoning. Emil chose mashed potato bread and fish. Alex has a lot of experience tasting food from various regions. For him, when he was in an unknown place and the quality of food was dubious, Alex chose the safest menu. In fact, make it better to buy food in the supermarket.

Alex took the potatoes on the plate first before switching on the burger. He picked it up while circulating a rotating view. Quite once, it was as broad as he could. If they're really being followed, Alex doesn't want that person to know. He also did not want to make his unproven anxiety contagious to Jayden and Emil to disturb their lunch.

“Remember me again why Tiger won't come,” Alex said.

“Boring way,” replied Jayden. “After all, he's too flashy.”

Emil nodded. “Too big.”

“Yes, that and also his face. The big wound on his face was one of the hallmarks when he was still a free fighter. As much as possible, he avoided people. Just in case anyone still recognizes him,” added Jayden. In reality, Tiger had already retreated from that world for quite a while. Almost ten years.

The conversation did not continue. Alex was enjoying his lunch. His mind forced him to think positively. Potatoes are crispy. The burger has a delicious roast aroma. The roof is perfect. Can not be compared with the cuisine of the waiter at his house, but it still falls into the category of delicious. Orange soda order is also quite cold, can drive away the rage in broad daylight.

Unfortunately, as his mind began to get good things, a shouting voice sounded. Not only that, they heard a loud noise repeatedly like the sound of a long-barreled rifle.

“Firing!” sahut Jayden's.

The people around them started to panic. Some immediately stood up while raising their heads, figuring out the source of the sound. Some ran without a second thought.

“Contact ICPA!” pinta Jayden on Emil. “Alex, let's check!”

“Wait! You want us to check it out?” Alex noticed his voice rising rapidly. He has been dealing with criminals repeatedly. However, this was the first time he had to be faced with such a precarious situation without equipment. Without weapons and combat uniforms, also back up.

Jayden frowned at Alex as if questioning his question behind his back. While Emil is already on the phone with a secret network. Alex sighs. He saw Jayden looking over the side of the building where people were scattering outside.

“Come!” exciting Jayden.

Alex would not like that. The two of them ran away from a row of shops and crossed the park in the middle. Nobody cares about the ban ‘Don't Step on Grass’ including Alex and Jayden. They ran through whatever was empty instead of running over the stone road that ran through the middle of the park. Alex realizes that only Jayden and himself are running against the current. People ran away from the tall building, one of the leading buildings on campus.

“Composed!” Alex shouted over the commotion.

His eyes work without being ruled. Somehow, he could see far behind the crowd of people who were running. He saw several figures wearing black clothes, carrying machine guns, bulletproof vests, as well as a black helmet. The figure reminded Alex of the ICPA field uniform.

Jayden heeded Alex's call. He ran up to a large pot of concrete plants and directly lowered his head. Throwing his gaze back, Jayden checked Alex's condition. The boy took the same steps as her. He also hid behind a row of rectangular concrete pots while people were running between them. There were also a few more people who took the same steps as them.

Alex checks Zet-Arm. Energies full. He can fight them when needed. The thing is, without combat uniforms, he would only be an easy target. Jayden himself is ready. His hand pulled out a flipad. Alex is confident that there will soon be a big hole in the trunk of their white hatchback.

Shots were heard again. Alex stole the chance to see. The sight he will never forget. His chest was pounding, sweat down his forehead, as anxiety crept up. His eyes saw people lying on the ground. Red blood soaked the garden. The beauty of the garden has been replaced by horror.

Four gunmen continued to move forward while shooting. Alex finds that they are carrying bullets that are wrapped in their bodies. Everything was exactly like the news he had read. The difference is, now he is in the middle of the news.

“Alex!” Jayden's call takes a turn when Alex focuses too much on his fears.

After Jayden received attention, he pointed behind him Alex. When Alex turned his head, he saw a mother hugging a little girl. The mother's body was wet with blood, either her own blood or the child's blood. Alex didn't dare guess what Jayden wanted, but he could read his friend's lip movements.

“Bring him away!” This time Jayden spoke without a voice.

The conditions around them turned silent in an instant. Those guys are not shooting anymore. There was a crackling noise, a bullet change. The silence was nothing more than the silence before the storm. The shooting will come back.

“I'm not a hero!” reply Alex. He also does not speak. Alex wondered where all his courage went. Had he been wearing a combat uniform, those people would have been porridge. Now, Alex doesn't feel like there's a difference between him and Jayden.

Jayden shook his head, disbelieving Alex's reply. He also grabbed a small gun that had been tucked in the waist. Alex glared at him. Now, Jayden's sure he's the one who won't like this idea. Someone has to act. Right now, only he can. Jayden looked over, seeing another pot. He knew the plan, he had to make a shot while running there.

There is a high chance that the shot will miss. Jayden knows. There is also the possibility that he will be shot back after his opponent has finished filling the bullet. Jayden knows too. However, he has made a decision. Jayden rolled over the park, shooting as he could, while running towards another pot.

“Jayden!” Alex screams in horror, before running at the mother and son.

Somehow but Jayden did it. Alex is in a more difficult position. The mother was shot in the leg, she couldn't have taken them away. But, he could take the shooter away from them.
