The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
The Brake

“I don't take orders from you, boy!” Tiger smiled knot. Somehow, that smile rubbed off on Alex.

Almost simultaneously, Emil entered the room. “The car is ready. Time to go home.” Emil stepped up, standing at the end of the glass coffin. He did not dare go any further. Quietly there, his eyes narrowed slightly at Alex. “You can walk?”

Alex was eager to joke that he could even hit people in such conditions. However, realizing that Emil did not even dare to approach, he decided to just nod. “Sure.”

Tiger drove Alex home, as usual. The boy sat in the back, while Emil sat beside Tiger in the front seat. There was hardly any conversation along the way until Alex realized their car was slowing down. Tiger took their car to refuel.

“I thought you had your own fuel station,” Alex said.

“Indeed,” answer emil briefly.

Tiger added. “We followed.”

Alex is well aware that Tiger is just passing through the fuel station. After that, they went out again without doing anything. Once out of the area, Tiger drove the ICPA car. The engine roared and caused an uncomfortable shock. Encouraged by curiosity, Alex looked back. There were two cars behind them. Both are open jeeps. There are at least three people in each car. Street light indicates their long barrel guns.

Not yet had time to say anything, Alex heard Tiger swearing. Their car turned sharply. This maneuver knocked Alex to the door. There was a scream and the sound of something breaking. Fortunately, it went so fast.

Successfully recuperating, Alex realizes what happened. Another car joined them. This car came from the right side of the intersection they just passed. The car clearly ran a red light to reach them. That forced Tiger to make a sharp turn.

“Who are they?” Alex asked, half screaming.

Stupid question. There's no answer. The ICPA has many enemies. Not only ICPA, Zetta Sonic also certainly has a long list. Many criminals want them to disappear. The question is, how do they know?

In the eyes of ordinary people, the car they were driving at that time was just a white SUV. Not something flashy. Their armaments and shields were well hidden. The system only appears when needed. In retrospect, Alex has experienced something like this before. Back then, there was a truck that almost crushed them. It was also his first time using Dragon Aura.

When it comes to Dragon Aura too, Alex feels riled up. His sight felt blurry. Nope. Alex then realized that his vision was not blurred but was disturbed by green grains like fireflies. They appeared from every angle of his sight. Alex blinked repeatedly, driving them away.

“Can we run away from them?” Alex asked while putting away all his anxiety.

Emil did not reply, busy with the tablet PC in his hand. There were foreign panels there, either to report to the central ICPA or to call Jason.

“It looks like we won't be home fast.” Tiger behind the wheel stepped on his gas pedal deeply.

The car engine roared faster. They just ran a red light. The incident made the cars they cut brake suddenly. The sound of an unfriendly horn accompanied by the fists of the drivers did not make Tiger tremble. He spurred his car on a highway that was gradually deserted.

“Sial!” Tiger glanced at the rearview mirror.

“Roof left!” Emil suddenly shouted. “Now!”

Tiger cornered fast at the crossroad. The car entered a downhill road into a suburban area. Smashed atmosphere. The house building is neatly lined on the right and left sides. There's no crowd there. However, it was not so different from the highway they had gone through earlier.

“Right!” Emil called out again.

Alex gasps. The right turn Tiger took just now wasn't a real road. In front of them lay a long and wide staircase. Alex has been through a rough patch worse than that. He's been to the farm with uneven roads. He didn't expect to do the same thing again. In town. In the evening. On the way home.

Their car jumped out of the bag of stairs. The shock not only makes you dizzy but also nauseous. Tiger stared straight ahead while Emil closed his eyes tightly. Alex himself ventured to look while holding onto the car seat. The view is blurred but clearly visible river at the end of the stairs.

“Tiger!” Alex was screaming.

“Quiet, boy!”

Their car for the umpteenth time turned sharply. Tiger managed to drive his car to the wide sidewalk beside the river. Unfortunately, the car behind them is not so. An open jeep that forced following glided freely and fell into the river. A loud sound accompanied by high water pounding was inevitable.

Tiger wasn't waiting to make sure the pursuers were still alive. He's back on the gas. Emil returned to his navigation. Alex turned back again. He didn't see anyone coming out of the river. He didn't see any more cars either.

They went through another small road. Shortly after, they returned to a crowded highway. Emil guided them back to the previous track.

“You think we lost them?” ask Alex lirih.

“After we enter the small alley, they split up. One car followed us. Two more waiting at the alley door. They are waiting at the wrong door.” Emil explained without even turning back.

Alex looked ahead. He could see images on a tablet PC on Emil's lap showing images from various surveillance cameras. He was monitoring from the air, saving them from unnecessary fighting.

Tiger was driving faster than usual. He wants to drop Alex off at his house. Even so, he did not want to express his concern. Maybe Alex will be safer with them at the base. The pursuers could have been waiting at Alex's house. Given that they can even chase ICPA cars, it is not impossible that they know Alex's true identity.

Taking all the thoughts out of his mind, Tiger kept driving. There's a special team that will keep an eye on Alex. That team must be people Nadira can trust. Tiger gnawing. He's aware of some strange things. What if the people in the jeep were a special team from Nadira? After all how Nadira lays out Alex's identity so easily to people outside the Special Force? And, how could they be stopped by another car again?

A blue sedan car flashed quickly in the opposite direction. Quickly, the car maneuvered to block them.

Tiger was too close. He also had to brake so as not to hit. The crash prompted the passengers to protest. Tiger ignored them. “Take your gun, Emil. And you, Alex, don't get out of the car!”
