The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Encounter

Alex believes he didn't hear wrong. The young man who appeared in the hallway called for something like a police call to arrest criminals. Arrested in the name of something? While his mind was trying to guess what was happening, the capsule mixture in his hand was ready. Soon a drug explosion occurred. He could feel how the grip of the girl in front of him was starting to stretch. Alex thrashed away.

He ran towards the building deeper. From the phone he managed to grab earlier, he had obtained the exact number of people who were there. Three people exactly. One he managed to crush on top. Another one, the girl, is fighting the effects of drugs. The rest are harder to beat.

A young man stood in front of Alex. Though pretty sure he'd seen it somewhere, Alex couldn't remember. Maybe because of the way she wears it, maybe because of her slightly bruised cheeks, maybe because of the hanging glasses. Now, the face is even covered again by a kind of white mask of plastic. The mask appears automatically. It's obvious that he won't be uprooted by drugs.

“Stop!” The young man called out again.

Alex ignores. He knew the shot would be fired. Easily, he dodged and then darted forward. From such a close distance, he could see the young man swerving. Just briefly. Next, the young man's hand was stretched out to catch him. Surprise. This is the perfect lead for Alex.

Different from the big guy downstairs. Alex is confident he can win against this one. His martial technique came out without any need for a second thought. As soon as it arrived behind him, he kicked the opponent's leg, making him kneel. His hand reached for the mask and pulled it. Unfortunately, the mask was apparently wrapped around the back of the head, so it was impossible to remove it if you did not know how.

Meanwhile his opponent managed to hold his wrist. “Because of you!”

“Serious?” Alex rolled his eyes. “You need to learn martial arts.”

Alex pulls back the young man's hand and gives him a hard fist in the stomach. His opponent groaned in pain. Alex didn't want to hurt anyone, but getting this young man down would give him access to the whole room. Waitaminute! Alex got a better idea. This young man could give him answers to many things.

Quickly, Alex kicked off the opponent's gun. His knees pressed the opponent onto the cold white floor, rendering the opponent helplessly on his back. Before the opponent retaliated, Alex had pointed a gun right at his forehead with the look of the eye he had trained before. It's his first experience, but Alex believes he's done well.

“Shoot only, Killer Bee!”

Alex frowning. “Come on, I'm not here to shoot let alone kill anyone. I just need answers. Your name is Jayden, I guess?” Alex guessed it from the data he took from the big guy's phone.

“Answers about the virus?” Jayden did not respond to his name. His eyes observed that the left arm of his interlocutor looked wet. Must be because he was shot.

“No. Maybe, yeah. You're the sender?”

“What do you think, genius?”

“Iya, of course you are the sender.” Alex squinted his eyes. “Please remove your glasses and mask. Don't worry, I won't hurt you. And, please throw the thing you are holding.”

Jayden sighed in annoyance. Since Alex didn't order him to raise his hand, he had little time to take a thin communication device out of his pants pocket. His action was caught but he managed to send an emergency message outside. So, he threw the thin object without any sense of weight at all. Jayden also said about his glasses and mask.

Alex observed how the glasses actually consisted of only a white frame. When Jayden took it off, the green glass part vanished. The mask is also interesting. The initial shape is just a pair of earrings fitted. When active, they extend automatically from one side to the other.

“Aglorious to our technology, Killer Bee?” Jayden smiled, as if he wanted to tease the boy in front of him and show off his possessions.

Jayden laughed too. “That's funny. It was clear that it was a counterattack. You hacked our system first. Trying to divulge our operation, eh? Not a smart move. You have absolutely no idea who you're dealing with, Killer Bee.”

“ICPA? What is it?”

Jayden frowning. “Stop pretending. You may not hack a system that you do not know who belongs to.”

There seems to be a slight misunderstanding between them. Alex could feel it. Even so, he refused to show it. Perhaps he could instead pry more information with his current position. The position in question is to pretend to understand the opponent's conversation.

“True,” Further Alex. “So, take me there!”

“Or what? You gonna shoot me? I don't think the game is that way. If I take you there, my boss will kill you. Otherwise, you'll kill me now. Sounds the same to me. So, I'd rather die in your hands. The secret remains safe. ICPA will be about me as a hero.”

Alex took a deep breath. Jayden's right. He would not get any information from the dead. It might be better if he was honest. “I'm not here for Zetta Sonic,” said Alex ignoring his mind who protested loudly for not knowing what Zetta Sonic is. “I need information about Marcus Anthony Hill.”

Jayden slipping. “OK, this is new.”

Alex moving. He also released the opponent. Jayden rubbed his chest that felt pain due to being pressed earlier. His stomach is also strong. But his heart was most wounded. Even if he is not a field agent, he can be fooled and defeated that easily.

Jayden observed Alex at this time, from feet to head. The boy wore shoes, a black shirt, a hood, and a mask that made him look like a professional spy. Although he didn't want to admit it, he did quite well. “I did hear that name when you met Tiger. Why do you need that information?”

“You are not in a position to bargain, Jayden.” Alex is still holding the gun.

Jayden pursed his lips. His eyes glanced at Caitlin who was still face down on the floor. The game will be over soon. He knew clearly that soon Tiger and Caitlin would wake up. After all, he had also sent an emergency message. Outside help is coming. Whichever comes first, the opponent will not be able to dodge.

Alex puts his gun to Jayden's forehead. “Thinking of blurring strategy? Just answer my question and I'll go.”

“I don't know anything about Mark Hill. I seriously. I've only heard his name. Never talk on the phone let alone meet in person. We are not on the same side. He's not here. You came to the wrong place, Killer Bee.”

Alex fell silent. He hasn't found an answer to the ICPA but he has all night to find it. So did his father. Now it's time to go. That's what Alex thought when the sound of the pace spurred his adrenaline. Some came and they were many.

“Now, see who's cornered!” Jayden made a big smile. “I need to tell you that my head is worthless, so it's free to take me hostage. Better drop the gun and raise your hand!”

Alex flinching. When he saw an army of people wearing all-black clothes complete with a vest and a binocular helmet, Alex lowered his gun. “No, Jayden. I don't think they came for me. They're coming for Zetta Sonic."
