The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Jump Off a Cliff's

The road they were traveling on was not only getting darker and narrower, but also felt more secluded. There is no sign that the road is often traveled. There are no paved roads, let alone lights. Gavin let them go without light. He relied on some sort of pointing radar and infrared cameras mounted on the car.

Alex wiped away her tears while she was in the dark. She fed him a few slices of bread but stopped after that only making him nauseous.

Jason trembled once more on his lap. The drone system actively detects hazards or threats that will arise. This time he detected something that Alex had suspected before. They arrive.

Instead of slowing down, their car went down a steep road and returned to a paved road. Gavin speeds up the car, still without turning on the lights. Not necessary. The road this time is brighter because of the moonlight and its reflection on the sea. They drive over a wide road with cliffs on the right side and the sea on the left side.

Alex gave a glance. He didn't know where they were at the moment but he knew their purpose. There's a small boat on the side of the cliff. A yellow light flickered from him as if calling them to come. The problem is only one. The ship was at sea while they were on a much higher road. The separation between them is not a horizontal distance but a height.

“Who is there?” Alex ventured to ask despite being afraid to hear the answer.

“People who will take you to the birthplace of Dragon Blood.”

“For Kloster?” Alex guessed as he thought of the worst. Given that he had just finished off their leader, it was not impossible that the people on the ship would beat him up.

“Call it a kind of mercenary.”

Their car finally stopped on the side of the highway. Under the cliff, the ship was. Alex opened the car door. The strong wind greeted him unfriendly. The cold was piercing and his thump was like slapping his body. The pain in his body became more. When his hand felt where the pain was, he felt wet. The thing that made him surprised was not that he saw blood now stuck to his hand, but that there were black spots there as well. He doesn't really remember whether Damon's blood blackened like that at the end of his life.

“Alex, can you jump?” Gavin. The man was already on the edge of the roadblock. He had waved at the crew that was preparing on the ship. Now, he waved at Alex to get closer.

“You want me to jump to..” Alex's words are stuck when he looks down. The ship looks so small down there.

“You look pale.”

Alex himself knew that even though he did not know the exact cause, his wounds or his fears. He swallowed. This was clearly different from the bungee jumping experience he had ever done. There is no safety rope let alone the guarantee that he can land there intact without a broken bone.

“Don't worry,” said Gavin as if he could read Alex's mind. “They're professional. They set up a tool to receive you down there?”

“Road or trampoline?”

“Haha.. If you can still joke like that, there seems to be nothing to worry about.” Gavin laughed at the question. “They have something better. Some kind of anti-gravity thing. The tool will reduce your falling speed. Sounds convincing?”

“If Jayden sees this—”

“Why? He'll stop you?”

“He will upload it on the internet.”

Gavin held back his laughter this time. Causes clear. They saw a car light in the distance. “Good. We don't have much time.” He pressed the button on the car keys and immediately the car they were riding in went off. “You first, I'll jump after you.”

Alex once again looked at him. It seems like the more days, the more stupid things he does. Like at the moment. She's alone. Without a team, without friends, without being known to the house let alone his family. He's just with a laser-armed drone and agents from another continent.

“Alex, fast!” Gavin hunt.

The lights of the car are getting closer. Alex also knew. Highlight the lamp is not just a highlight of yellow or white lights, but a mixture of red and blue light. Police car. The situation can get more complicated and force him to do something stupid. So Alex chose to do this first.

With wounds on his body, Alex grimaced as he passed through the guardrail. Passing is not jumping. Alex just intended to jump when he was on the other edge. It was more difficult than he expected. His head was dizzy and his eyes began to water.

“Sial! Come!”

Alex has not yet understood what happened. He felt his arm being pulled down. Gravity helps them climb down the cliff quickly. Maybe too soon. So far, Alex has not felt that their fall is slowing down.

Then his eyes caught the spotlights of the stopped car. A pair of heads visible from the edge of the road guardrail. Although Alex could not see how the reaction on their faces but heard a scream. Both men tried to stop them. Soon enough, the police will send in a search force.

Alex wondered what the police would do. What are they thinking? Do they think they've seen two people who attempted suicide? Will they find out their identity? Where are they going to start? Could they be contacting the ICPA? Will they send helicopters to search?

Now, Alex felt his body so light. His world seemed to stop. His mind was tired. He found his body hit a hard object. Not to crash, rather to fall. Alex realized that he had been on the cold floor was also damp. The floor of the boat they were on.

Alex coughed. Her breath feels tight. And, that pain, made him moan. His body twitched without him being able to control. There were screams he heard. Shouts to get out of there. Shouts about rope and chain. Shouts about injections. Frightened shouting. It didn't last long. After feeling the sharp sting on his left arm, everything stopped.

Again, the darkness found him.
