Alex doesn't like where their conversation is going. “Good. Time to go home.” Alex is moving.
“You think it's time to go home?” Tiger grunts amusedly.
Alex was silent for a moment. Then he took a short breath. “You must be kidding.”
Tiger takes Alex to an ICPA-owned white SUV. He's not on duty to take Alex home. The boy himself realized that Tiger was going to take him somewhere else, to a place where he had to act. Something had happened on that cold night and they needed the Zetta Sonic. To be honest, Alex needs his own bed. She's sleepy.
On the way, Emil, who was sitting in the back, started his desk with various information. A bar, a drunk, a woman, broken things, a shooting, a couple of hellhounds.
“Wait. What?” Alex turned back. He thought he had heard wrong when he heard Emil say about dogs and hell. “What I thought when you said hellhounds were cerberus in mythology.”
“Indeed.” Emil was busy with a tablet PC on his lap. “You don't think we brought you to catch the drunks, ‘kan?”
“What will I meet there?”
“Dog hell.”
“We get to.” Tiger grunts amusedly. “Come on, finish this within fifteen minutes, Alex.”
Their car was parked behind a barricade of several police cars that were already on fire. Not a single cop was seen anymore, neither were the people. In front of there, looks a small building with rural style. Red brick covers each side of the wall with a chimney at the end. Smoke billowed from there, as well as from the side of the window. The inside is burning. That place is on fire.
The cause, believed to be Alex, was right in front of him.
A pair of black dogs barked at their car. Their eyes lit up red. Thick canines and saliva are exposed every time they open their mouth. It didn't take long, the two ran on the car. Not only that, there was a blaze coming out as well. It was like coming out of a flamethrower.
“Dark dog!” Tiger stepped on the gas. He knew that their car was fireproof. However, that did not necessarily make him dare to hit the two dogs. He dodged the two bursts as Sonic got ready.
“Please don't break that uniform again,” whispered Emil.
Unfortunately, Alex is no longer listening. He opened the car door. His body rolled over the asphalt. Time to practice what he learned in the training room. The laser gun had been clasped tightly in his hand. The horses are sturdy, the shots are precise. The green laser beam split the silence, right at the first dog. The beam hit his head, smashing its shape in an instant. His destruction reminds Alex of a dinosaur monster he fought a while ago.
The second dog ran to him. Alex was not afraid. If their car is fireproof, let alone the uniform. After all, the attack was far from accurate. That was luck to him. When the bursts return, Alex avoids the spot easily, although the heat itself manages to penetrate the uniform, incarnating into the warmth on his cheeks.
At that time, Alex saw other dogs running out of the same side. At least Alex is looking at half a dozen now. They flaunted their teeth and immediately a fire followed. He didn't give the pack of dogs to attack him again. Alex took precise aim one by one. It felt easy now especially after he had undergone training at the Special Force headquarters.
Unfortunately, just like the training room where the difficulty level continues to rise, there are other dogs. They seem to never end. Even Alex begins to believe that the bar is actually a hellhound factory. Until he saw a large man running from the back door.
So far, all the ordinary people have left the place. Call it like a bar visitor or worker. Seeing someone running from the back of the building immediately felt awkward. He knew clearly he had to catch the person before going too far.
Alex opens the way. He shot several dogs trying to block his way. That includes passing through a burst of fire. Although the fire did not really burn him, the heat still felt stinging on his skin. Alex stops when one of the dogs jumps on him. Fortunately, he was prepared for a surprise attack. Otherwise, he will fall. Falling down will not have a good impact on him.
The dog's mouth bit his right hand. However, there were no significant injuries. Alex is protected by his uniform. The dog also seems to be aware of this. The dog snorted and soon Alex knew what was going to happen. A burst of fire was definitely a bad thing in such close conditions. Alex punches the dog off. This caused the other dogs to arrive.
The shot came from the other side. Alex jerks. The shot hit a nearby dog and then another dog. He had thought that it was help from Tiger but the direction of the shot was different. One of them was from Tiger, the other one came from the opposite direction.
“Hei, Sonic! Reinforcements are coming.”
Alex hears a call between the roar of laser fire. It came from a man in a black uniform like Tiger. This man was standing on top of the car through an open sunroof. Whoever he is, Alex knows that guy's on his side.
[Alex, get him!]
This time, Emil's voice was heard from inside the helmet. He meant that Emil was definitely not the person who was giving him help but a male figure. Alex finds the man almost disappearing among the trees. That's not gonna happen. Jason just brought a rocket for Zetta Sonic.
Alex was wearing his rocket backpack. Without a second thought, he darted between the barking of the dog and the blaze towards the silence of the night. Alex squeaking. Aided by his helmet technology, he discovers a jeep in the woods.
The man being chased realizes Alex's arrival. The figure looked back, shooting several times. Nothing about Alex. Without giving up, the figure continued to run while swinging the machete he had pinned at the waist. The branches began to fall from the side of the tree. Alex blocked.
This figure also continued his escape. When he thought that he had managed to escape, Alex actually dropped himself on it.
Alex pressed the figure on the floor. However, his opponent turned out to be more nimble than he expected. That guy rolled away.
The first thing Alex realizes is the presence of a foreign object between himself and the opponent. The thing that from earlier was captured by the opponent is now released. A box measuring an inch of an adult's hand with a layer of iron and skull marks. The second thing is that he recognizes the figure.
