Alex saw him again. Nightmares. He looked at himself again with skin as pale as a corpse. Fresh red blood pooled under his feet and widened. Turtle cries sounded from various directions as well there was a groan within him that he was unfamiliar with. Similar groans of wild animals. His throat was dry, and so was his tongue. If anyone could satisfy him, then it was the fluid that was widening under his feet at the moment. Stomach's nauseous. Disgust of himself.
The worst part was when he saw Damon and Naray walking up to Alex's figure. This made him remember that Naray was not the first person. Alex remembers killing Damon in monster form. He doesn't want to remember if there were any victims before Damon.
Alex is tired. Too tired to even be scared.
He opened his eyes without shouting. Cold sweat soaked his face and his mouth was salty. Alex wiped his lips. Bloods. He's nosebleed again. His blood flowed to his lips. Alex was glued to the bloodstains that had moved into his hands. Ever since knowing Dragon Blood, he no longer knew his own body.
“Dan.. she woke.”.
Hoarseness provokes Alex's attention. This kid is moving carefully. His back was still painful and his head was a little dizzy. He raised his head slightly towards the source of the sound. There, a large brown-skinned man and curly hair were approaching. His face had some scars on his chin. His lips were covered in thick whiskers and his eyes were behind round sunglasses.
“Hai.” The man greeted me back. “I'm the captain here. You can call me Amigo. Friends, understand ‘kan?” The man laughed at his own jokes while Alex did not reply. Without feeling awkward, he continued. “Please calm down, you are safe here. They won't find you as long as you're under my protection.”
Alex observed the surroundings. The narrow room had a light brown painted wall with narrow and low doors that fit one person. There's a window in the middle. The shape is round like a pair of other windows next to the bed. There was only darkness behind that window. In addition to the bed, the room also contains a small table and a pair of chairs.
“Where is this?” Alex finally asked.
“Samudra widest in the world.”
“Are we inside... submarine?” ask Alex again.
“That's right! It's the safest way to travel as long as you have people in government.” The man chuckled, revealing wrinkles on his facial skin. “By the way, how old are you? The sixteen? You look too young to be chased by the cops.”
The guess missed a year and Alex didn't bother to justify it. Some people prevent the conversation from continuing.
“Enough. You only have the chance to offer discount.” Gavin had just stepped inside the room. The young man had changed into a loose light blue shirt and white pants.
Amigo looked at Gavin. “I know. I'm just trying to be friendly with my customers.” Then he went back to Alex. “I guarantee all the safety of my customers. All my team members are professionals. You guys don't have to worry. All privacy is guarded. And, most importantly, I always give a discount for the next service usage.”
“Thank you.” Gavin fluttered beside the door that was left open.
“Good, good. I'm out now. I'll let you know we're on the island. Should be a few hours away.” Amigo went out. The man paused for a while before closing the door and giving his final greetings. “See you later Mr. River, mr. Garnet.”
They waited for a moment in silence, just to make sure Amigo was gone.
“He called me what?” ask Alex.
“Jason Garnet's. Pseudonym. You don't like it?” Gavin pulls up a chair. He placed the paper bag on the table and started to take out the contents. Drinking water, sandwiches, an apple, and a knife.
“No.” Obviously not. Alex forced himself to wake up. It turned out to be easier than he expected. As he was about to move further, Alex realized that his right hand was restrained. There's handcuffs in there. His right hand was cuffed to the edge of the bed. “What did you tell him?”
“He didn't suspect you cuffed me?”
“He doesn't care as long as he gets paid.” Gavin shrugged his shoulders. “Those handcuffs don't make you comfortable. Unfortunately, I need to make sure you don't attack us in our sleep even though I'm not sure that the handcuffs are strong enough to hold you.” Gavin is honest.
“I feel like a criminal.”
“Your wounds recovered much faster than expected. You made it melt. So, I have to be careful that you don't melt anything else.”
Alex gnashing. “What? Melt what?”
“Peluru. It's a little amazing to see how your blood or any of that blood makes the bullets melt. I thought your powers were trying to destroy the threat before helping you heal yourself. It was amazingly scary but also amazing.”
Spontaneous, Alex groped his wound. There was a thin object covering his wound behind his shirt. The wound was no longer as painful as before, there was only an odd sense of heat. Heat enough to melt the bullet. Not happy, Alex could not express his feelings at that time. His mind's jumbled. Among the most notable is sadness.
“It's just a matter of time,” Alex said more to himself. “Lost humanity and..” Alex could not continue. He looked at his interlocutor closely. “There's still a way, ‘right? You brought me there to prevent that.”
“Actually, I don't know what's in there.” Gavin, again, honestly. He was peeling his apples very hard. “I never went there and never expected to go there. Tribal members often acted arbitrarily. Since their relationship with ICPA is tenuous, they will not hesitate to attack agent.”
“They killed him?”
“Not yet. So far, they have only killed certain people like.”.
“The villains?” guess Alex.
“They like vigilante.” Gavin grunts. He finished peeling his apple. Next, he throws the apple at Alex who is received easily. “Reflekmu is still good. Your bleeding has stopped. There's no doctor here, but I think your condition is almost completely restored.”
Alex was silent with an apple in his grasp.
“Eat it then rest. You need it,” pinta Gavin again.
“Why did you take me there if they could have attacked you? Why take the risk?” Alex looked at the agent who was about to leave.
“I don't want the world to fight something they never imagined before.” Gavin threw a smile after. “But,” added, “it always happens. So, stay with us. This world needs Zetta Sonic.”
Beyond Gavin's expectations, Alex shook his head. “This world needs peace not Zetta Sonic.”
“You know what you mean by yourself, Alex?”
“Iya.”
