The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Drowns

[Alex, get away from the robot!] The connection stops there.

Alex doesn't remember if there were any more words after that. The robot that was flying himself is now no more a burden that continues to pull him down. Alex tried to wriggle loose but failed. His eyes discovered how the robot's eyes were twinkling fast. His chest suddenly tightened. And, before being fully aware of what was happening, the robot turned into a huge bang in the water. No fire, just a blow. There was no sound, only a strong pressure pushed him deep in silence. No more robots, just splinters. Alex's world is dark. His body no longer shakes.

Out there, a huge explosion occurred in the water. The blue car was parked next to the bridge. Without a second thought, the owner had jumped into the river.

Swimming at night and such cold temperatures are not a good sport. Not to mention there is no adequate lighting. Plus there was a fairly high explosion soared to the surface. Professional swimmers will think twice. However, Gavin knew what he was doing. You need special training to do it. For example, training as an ICPA agent.

Without agency equipment, Gavin is no better than any other human. Even so, he knew he had to save Zetta Sonic. Gavin doesn't swim blind in the water. Zetta Sonic's uniform has a special luster that she's pretty sure she can find in water. That green line is a hallmark of ICPA. The same characteristics are also implemented in the ICPA Sinde special agent.

In such a deep darkness, Gavin did need a little extra time to find what he was looking for. He realized that he was chasing time. The conditions are unfavorable. The oxygen ran out faster than expected due to pressure and temperature. In this case, the Zetta Sonic can reach the bottom first.

Fortunately, the Zetta Sonic hasn't sunk too far. Gavin found a glowing green line from the combat uniform section. He stretched out a hand, pulling the figure to the top. The cold was piercing, the pressure was pressing, the double load was pulling him down. Gavin refused to give up. He continued to swim upwards until their heads both poked on the surface.

Gavin shivers. Teeth chattering. The cold wind above greeted him unfriendly. While keeping the Zetta Sonic's head above, Gavin swam to the edge. Unfortunately, there are no edges or the ground is quite sloping there. All the edges of the river in the form of sloping walls. There is only one section of the ladder up. Gavin had to carry Zetta Sonic's body up the stairs. He ignored the fatigue, carried the body on his shoulder, and quickly laid it on the ground face up.

For a moment, Gavin stopped. Trying to regulate his thumping chest as well as protesting muscles.

Gavin had doubts about what he should do. The lying figure was more like a robot than a human. Flashing without a sound. He began to shake the body and call out. There's no results. Gavin thought of giving CPR, but was also unsure. He began giving massages on his chest, hoping that the figure would come to a realization. But, every push had no impact. That combat uniform must have reduced all the collisions that came.

Then, he heard a faint clicking sound from behind. The drone mechanism behind it had opened. A muzzle of a gun appeared ready to shoot. The drone stopped there, hovering in the air.

“You can take over from here if you want,” said Gavin as he raised both hands. He did not need to turn around because he could already guess what awaited him.

At first there was no reply.

At the headquarters, Jayden was still arguing with his superiors in the command room. At least he had ordered Jason to put a gun on Gavin, so the agent wouldn't dare to run away. There was a little pause until Jayden could finally talk to him through the drone. [We need your help, agent River.]

“Maybe I can indeed help if you don't shoot.”

[I'm not going to shoot. We are on the same side.] Jason turned forward. [You need to turn off the Zetta Sonic combat uniform manually first. We can't access it online from here.]

“How to?”

Gavin said without asking. His hand felt the bracelet. There are many menus plus a hologram screen with other menus. Gavin finds what he's looking for with a little Jayden help. Indeed, not just anyone can tamper with the bracelet easily.

[Now, press the star symbol in the center of the uniform.]

Gavin did it without asking much questions. After the emblem on the part was pressed, the uniform-forming hexagon pieces disappeared into the emblem. Gavin was silent again. He realized two things that made his position even more difficult. One, there's a cut in the abdomen. He couldn't be sure how bad the wound was. The boy's clothes were soaked with blood and river water. Two, which was worse, he recognized the face.

Gavin had seen a picture of the boy in the office of his boss, ICPA Regis chairman Mark Hill. Gavin frowned at the drone, convinced whoever was behind it could catch the reaction on his face. Even so, no questions really come from there. Gavin checked Alex's pulse which was so weak. He also checked if Alex was still breathing. After being fairly certain that the situation was possible, Gavin performed CPR.

Jayden is waiting behind the drone camera.

“Build! C'mon!” Gavin exclaimed while giving CPR.

After a brief moment of fruitlessness, Alex finally coughed. He spewed out quite a lot of water. His body was trembling, scared and cold at the same time. Gavin didn't get to talk to him. From a distance, they heard police sirens.

[You have to get out of here! It will not be easy to explain all this to the police. Leave it to the ICPA.]

Alex gnashing. I can't give you more reaction than that. He's still coughing. His lungs were burning while his body was cold. Worse, he no longer had the energy to even raise his head. Alex gave up, letting his head fall again onto the damp ground.

Gavin agrees. “He needs to go to hospital or a safer place.”

[Take your car, I'll guide you.]

“You will not lead me to the hospital,” said Gavin.

[Better. I need to warn you, the place is armed.]

Gavin could guess what kind of place his interlocutor meant. He patted the shoulder of the child beside him, while making sure his chest was still up and down, a sign of life. “Wait here!” gavin Pinta. Something he really doesn't need to do.

Alex wouldn't be able to go anywhere in those conditions. He wasn't even sure he could survive staying sober. As Gavin leaves, Jason hovers near Alex, inviting him to talk despite not getting a reply.

Gavin hurriedly ran back to his parked car quite a distance away. His eyes caught the lights from afar. Gavin drives his car near Alex without daring to turn on the lights. He carried Alex into the back seat and took them away from the crowd.
