This gala dinner is hosted by an international company. Tetra has released many award-winning films. Starring in films made by Tetra is usually the hope of most actresses. Including Alicia Remnant, Alex's mother.

For the gala dinner that night, her mother chose the dress as usual. Spiked with hundreds of crystals, the one shoulder black dress made her look charming. Alicia willing to make up from the morning so that her appearance is maximal. Her hair was curled to the side to show a diamond earring in the shape of water. She not only looks beautiful but also beautiful.

Alex doesn't really like his mother's look at parties like that. She preferred her mother to appear ordinary, unravelled hair, loosely floral dresses as usual. Even so, she still likes the scent of her mother's perfume. Soft and arousing longing.

Preston escorted the two to the party site at City Hall. Again. Alex can't remember how many times he's been there and almost always ends up in trouble. This time I was with him. This is really an inopportune time for problems to happen.

His condition was already quite awkward. Alex couldn't imagine his father coming. They promised to meet at the party. Mark's busy. Always busy, like a base. Alex wouldn't have demanded her to be there early. Given the many criminal problems in the world, Alex now appreciates Mark's presence more. The rooms inside the City Hall were so different. Round tables have been neatly arranged with cutlery along with names. Willy and Alex exchanged a glance. His friend was standing by the window across the room. Alex walked up to him without saying anything. His mother was busy chatting with fellow actresses near the entrance.

“You look perfect,” Willy said. “Your mother more.”

Alex nodded. His mother gave him a dark blue tuxedo with a black accent. Alex liked it, more than the situation was at the time. “Actually,” says Alex, “many I want to tell you.”

Willy glanced at her then returned to look at Alicia. “About your mother?”

“The recent nightmares haunt me.” Alex corrects Willy's guess. “Did you ever think what if your parents got, I don't know, separated?” Alex avoids word ‘divorce’.

Willy looked at his best friend. “You don't think that they..” Willy deliberately didn't continue his words. He couldn't bear to see how Alex would react.

“Everything can happen. Everything could turn worse,” whispered Alex. He didn't want to look at Willy.

“But, conditions can also be better. By the way, where's your dad? She's not here?”

“Still at the airport. Supposedly, he arrives soon here.”

The two children were still standing in place, when they saw a tall man approaching Alicia. The man gave a sweet kiss on the actress' cheek. Willy recognized the man's face from the headlines. Alex sure has seen him here before. That's the guy with his mom at the hotel.

Willy reacted first. “Wait. That guy... Is he here? Ah, of course you are. He's the CEO of an international company. I heard she was engaged in jewelry or gemstones or the like.”

Seeing that, Willy agreed. “Nightmare.”

Alex shakes. “My mind has always felt full lately. I don't even know what I'm thinking. The scandal of a mother who keeps heating up and my father who doesn't seem to care.”

“They rarely meet, ‘kan?”

“More than that. I don't think they even care about each other. Sometimes I even feel like they're attending this kind of party just for formality. What am I supposed to do?”

“Sorry, but honestly I don't know what the answer is, Alex.” Willy was honest. Both of his parents lived in harmony. They run the hospital business well. Everything went well. For Alex, it was a much sweeter life than him.

Given the condition of mom and dad often makes Alex feel bad. It feels like a failure. It was as if he could save the world but could not save his own family. Alex shook his head again, expelling all bad thoughts from him.

“I shouldn't have told you about this.” Alex forced himself to laugh. “It's just a fear of things that haven't happened yet. Forget it.”

“Hei. Doesn't matter. I'm yourfriend. You can tell me anything, okay?” Willy threw his smile. “I may not always be able to help. But, just tell me if you want.”

Alex nodded. Then, he saw another guest just coming. The couple wore a matching light brown color. If the man is wearing a suit, the woman is wearing a backless dress that shows off her beautiful back. Her hair is arranged in a messy bun style decorated with crystal flower ornaments.

The couple made Alex spontaneously glare. Baron and Caitlin!

“You know them?” ask Willy who saw the change in look on Alex's face. “The young couple said they have many shares in various companies.”

“We've met a few times. Why are they here?”

“It looks like they are offering sponsorship or something. I don't understand that much myself. I also wouldn't be surprised if they have a stake in Tetra.”

If the Baron did hold shares in Tetra, the situation worsened. However, it also explains how the Baron was able to get his mother's agenda easily.

Feeling stared at, Baron turned to Alex. The man threw a smile at her. Alex didn't smile at all, he was still glaring at her. The baron even purposely greeted mom and dad afterwards.

Caitlin stood beside the Baron. The girl also saw Alex. When their sight met, Caitlin touched her pearl earrings. The gesture looked like Caitlin was fixing earrings, but Alex caught another impression.

If it wasn't for Jayden telling me about Caitlin's phone yesterday and the contents of the chips they received, Alex wouldn't have understood. Even though, he does not believe that Caitlin is on their side, Alex agrees that something is strange. And, he realized that the girl had just given him a cue. But, what cue?
