The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Dinners

Jayden smiled broadly when he saw a black SUV passing close by. He doesn't need to know who's inside. No one would pass near there other than their members or enemies. Almost certainly the passenger of the car is Killer Bee, a figure who had been in contact with him a while ago.

Tiger had just walked into the room when a large screen showed the car was finally gone after a short stop. To find out if something had happened, Tiger asked. “When do you want dinner?”

“Nanti.”

Obviously something has happened. Jayden usually welcomes his dinner with pleasure instead of delay. Tiger placed the tray filled with food on the table at the end of the room. The table was forgotten by the charm of a sophisticated computer table in the middle of the room.

“So,” asks Tiger as he approaches, “what happened?”

“It looks like we have guest arrival.”

“Who?”

“You know who came.”

“Don't tell me it's Killer Bee!”

“Of course.” Jayden smiled a faint smile. “The car stopped there, right in the tree-covered position. Then now someone hacked the old security system of the reservoir. Only Killer Bee does.”

Tiger pulled Jayden's shoulder to face him. “You know what you're doing right now?” His inner voice snapped, a threat as well as a warning. “You made Killer Bee come here?”

“Quiet, big cat. Nadira didn't call you Tiger for no reason, did he?”

“What do you mean?”

“Catch him, Tiger. He's just a little bee and you're the king of the jungle.”

Tiger is protesting. The king of the forest is a lion, not a tiger. But the protests have changed about something else. “You want to bestow your mistakes on me?”

“I'll be happy to catch it myself. Too bad, Nadira forbade me from leaving this room, didn't she?”

Tiger pulled Jayden's collar closer. “You and your stupid game can destroy Zetta Sonic.”

“Then, immediately catch him and the game will end safely.”

“What do you want?”

“I think you should have known about that. Nadira would not reject my idea. We both know what he's like.”

Tiger finally released his grip on Jayden, sending the young man crashing into his swivel chair. “Where is Killer Bee?”

“Rear door. That's the only safe entrance. Moreover, the door is unlocked.”

“You opened it?”

“The reservoir should not have an advanced security system, let alone an electronic door lock complete with a scanner for the back door. I think it's better if we just open it right away before he kisses other suspicious things.”

“If he finds Zetta Sonic..”.

“It doesn't matter as long as you can catch it before leaking this news out. He's just an amateur hacker.”

“Underestimating people can make you trip, J!”

“OK. To make you calmer, I'll ask Caitlin to help.”

“Forget the girl. I'll handle this bee alone.”

“Good, good. That's new spirit.” Jayden shifted his position to the end of the table with his wheeled swivel chair. He took out a small box of earphones and handed it to the big man. “I'll guide you from here so you know the location.”

Jayden typed something. The screen also shows the real security system they use. The reservoir security system is left alone to outwit other advanced security systems. Killer Bee just hacked the reservoir security cameras. Jayden can see him now.

“Small child.” Tiger continued, “He's like a schoolboy.”

Jayden was briefly reminded of the game Drake and His Land. The figure is indeed suitable when associated with ordinary school children. He begins to suspect that Killer Bee may be more than just an amateur hacker but a careless teenager who mostly watches spy movies or hopes to become a superhero.

“In still on the ground floor, I'll be there.” Tiger turned away.

“Wait a minute!” Jayden scowled but hurriedly pursed his lips.

“What else now?”

Jayden paused for a moment, looking for the right words. “Do not kill him.”

Tiger pulled the gun from the scabbard. “It depends on him not on me.”

After Tiger came out through the only door there, Jayden took a deep breath while groping his wound. Tiger is not overreacting. Underestimating someone can be fatal. He began to wonder if he had made a mistake.

The screen now displays all the images from security cameras scattered throughout the building. Killer Bee is on the ground floor. If he's smart, it won't take long until he finds the door to the basement. So far, the system is in top shape. Infrared line will trigger alarm roar. The iron cage will fall if there are strangers without identification running in the hallway. The firing machine will take out anyone who breaks down the door.

Jayden put on white headphones and called Caitlin. He needs the girl to secure the Zetta Sonic from Killer Bee as well as guard the life of Killer Bee from Tiger. “Caitlin!” Jayden called as soon as he heard the answer across the headphones.

[What other problems do you have, J?]

“Not a big problem.”

[Our ancient surveillance cameras displayed a different image to the new cameras. So, it's not a big deal?]

“If you already know, this will be easier. I need you at the X-01 underground door. Make sure no one passes there.”

[That's easy. I'll walk straight there. Anyway, my shot was a hit, remember?]

“Please do not kill our intruders. Just dope him.” Jayden didn't want to sound too anxious, but he had to give Caitlin the full details. “When Tiger was about to kill him, prevent him. If you can't, I think you can also anesthetize Tiger.”

[That sounds complex. Who is this intruder?]

“Someone I want to meet.”

[Your answer is not helpful at all, J. Is he your friend?]

Jayden was laughing. “Of course not. I wonder who this guy is. I'm sure you heard about Killer Bee from Nadira yesterday.”

[Of course. News quickly spread among the six of us. So, this is the hacker who managed to break into the security of the Regis branch?]

“Kosir more.”

[What's the motive?]

“Motif?” Jayden has to admit that he doesn't know why Killer Bee did it. Funny thing is, he just came to see without downloading data or entering a virus. “Maybe just looking at which data he can later make a threat.”

[You mean, he's gonna ask for money to shut up so this data doesn't get disseminated?]

“My guess is so. Some hackers I know did that.”

[Okay, I'm in position.]

“I can see it.” Jayden found a girl with ponytail hair on the fourth screen. There was a shotgun in his hand while rows of knives lined his belt. “I told you not to kill him, ‘kan?”

[I'll try to be gentle with him.]

“Good. I hope you're ready. He's heading your way.”
