The Zetta Sonic
History Teacher's

There must be something wrong with him. Alex didn't like it when he heard Leta say that to him. He can't describe it. He doesn't know why. He just doesn't like it. Alex has to confess that he was grateful when the school bell rang. Alex let the conversation stop there. They also split up to their respective benches.

Until the afternoon break, Alex knew his mind kept coming back to what was happening in the morning. As time goes on, Alex finds it more troubling than fun. The reason was simple, because he did not know why he did not like to hear it from Leta.

“Alex, you listen?”

Alex is awakened from his daydream.

Willy repeated the information. “We have a new teacher. Famous artist, I mean famous musician, Melody Riza. You must have heard, ‘kan?”

“Melodiza,” says Alex, mentioning their new teacher's stage name. “He came today? Now then? This ‘kan geography lesson hours.”

“True. Looks like the school is making a joke.” Willy pulled himself up and leaned fully into his chair. “It will be fun. It must be much more interesting than Mr.'s explanation. Rocky.”

“So, Melodiza will teach us geography? I thought he was a history teacher.”

“Neg. He does teach history.”

Alex frowned, not really understand the reason their school changed the hours of study. Actually, it's not a big thing. The school likes to surprise students. This isn't the first time. On top of that, Alex is more curious about Melodiza. Just like the other students, he was also curious how the musician was banging the steering wheel to teach in their school.

“What do you think—”

“No, he is not a graduate of this school,” Willy said before Alex finished asking. “Everyone has the same thought. Apparently, no. Melodiza is not a graduate of this school. He was born in a small village and was just an ordinary school graduate. Not from above. Success-seeking type with hard work.”

Given that Wood Peak is a school that is synonymous with important and wealthy people, it is no wonder that their teachers are from the same class. The school also often calls its alumni as guest speakers. Olympic gold medalists, successful businessmen, world artists, painters, sculptors, even world-renowned ministers and politicians. Melodiza is different.

“Suara is good.”

“Good? Her voice is like hypnotizing.”

Alex nodded, forced to agree. She herself could not forget Melodiza's latest song, even though it had been days since she heard it. Melodiza's songs are quite simple and easy to remember.

“And.. she's charming,” Willy added.

Faintly, there was the sound of breathing from the rest of the class. Their new teacher just went through the classroom door. He is even more charming than a video clip. The body is beautiful, the brown curls are draped on the back, the face is thin, the lips are thick and the eyes are wide. Her makeup is thin, showing natural beauty. The pink suit managed to show his perfect curves.

Alex nodded again.

Melodiza walked towards the front of the classroom. The front of the class was slightly lower than the seats of the students. The teacher had to look up a bit to look at each of his students. As he threw a smile, Alex swore to hear a faint sigh from both his friend and himself. Subconsciously, Alex even supported his face with his hands, his eyes fixed on the teacher, like a big fan of the artist. In fact, not really. As if regaining consciousness, Alex hurriedly blinked and shook his head.

Willy beside her snorted amusedly. “I should get an A in this subject.”

“For what?” reply Alex. “Get his signature? We can get when collecting tasks.”

Melodiza clapped her hands twice, calling the attention of all the disciples to her. The concern in question is the attention of teachers and students, not fans and idols. “Good day, kids! I'm sure you're not surprised anymore because the history lesson hours are accelerated. News leaked quickly.”

Alex throws a glint at Willy.

Willy put his shoulder down. “Hannah posts the news on group.”

Alex rolled his eyeballs. Sure oes. All news can spread quickly through class groups. Because he did not have time to open the group at lunch, it was only natural that Alex did not know the news circulating.

“My name is Melody Riza. Starting this semester, I'm going to teach history. I like to give quizzes and pretty cheap value. Great news, isn't it? But there is one strict rule here. Don't call me by stage name. Call me Mrs. Melody's. Simply understood?”

It's not that hard. It was also not the first time an artist teacher had asked to be called by her real name. Alex was curious if their teacher would teach full-time like any other teacher or just one semester. Some alumni of the school try to show their gratitude and become teachers. The majority of those people only lasted one or two semesters at most. Eventually, only those who truly intended to become teachers would survive. Not pessimistic, but Alex is quite sure that Melodiza will only last for two semesters.

Probably not either.

Their new teacher wasted no time on introductions. He began to teach. Alex must admit that his teaching is not bad, even good. He explained everything in detail. His way of speaking, his voice, his body language, everything was pleasing to the eye. Alex throws a glance at his classmates. They all look ahead. Maybe Alex is too pessimistic. Melodiza can teach.

Unfortunately, teaching always ends with a task. Even if the way to teach is good and admit that cheap value, the woman is very creative about the task. “I want you to make a three-minute video. In the video, you will be a journalist interviewing your favorite characters in history. The conversation can be completely imaginary but still discuss the important moment of the character.”

Alex gawking. “Did he just say imaginary conversation?”

Willy also gawked. “If you also hear, it means we did not hear wrong.”

“One more!” sahut Melodiza's. “This is a group task. One group consists of two people. Make it as creative as possible. I like to see the work. You guys should collect it tomorrow. Upload the data in the school database before twelve pm.”

Alex immediately nudged his friend. “Partner?”

“What? Me? I thought you'd ask for a bunch with Leta.”

“Neg. Better with you.”

Willy also frowned. “So that happened between you?”

“Neg. I just thought it was easier to do it with you. You said you want to go home to play a game tonight, ‘kan?” Alex lied young as usual. His eyes glanced at the latest game from Cody that was on Willy's table.

“OK. So, tonight we work instead of playing games?”

“You're kidding? We're going to play a new game doing the job!”

“Lucky I'm one team with the smartest kid in class.”

Alex gave a big smile. While throwing his gaze back to the front of the classroom, Alex swears that Melodiza was staring at him. Maybe it's just a crazy thought, but Alex knew trouble was coming. And, Melodiza will be involved.
