The large screen features nine different screens. Seven of these featured the faces of leaders from seven different ICPAs. There is the same emblem at the top left of each screen and an ICPA branch caption at the bottom center. In addition, there was one screen with the emblem alone without anyone there. The last screen is their own screen.
Alex gasps. Fortunately, the people there couldn't see the reaction to his face at the moment. He not only realized that he met with important ICPA leaders from various parts of the world. He also fully realized that Nadira finally opened the existence of Zetta Sonic to other leaders.
Nadira says a lot. He explained a little information about the Zetta Sonic operation. A little bit here means very little. He did not say how many, who, and where the operation took place. He also referred to their operation as the Special Force Zetta Sonic. Of course, he introduced Alex and called him Sonic here. Nadira did not ask Alex to speak. No one should worry that the black-clothed figure is a robot. One of the leaders had seen it firsthand.
One by one the leaders asked questions. Not a few also provide scathing comments and criticism. Some people think Sonic is a robot, not a human. Some worry that Nadira's focus is on biological weapons. And, many more.
Alex couldn't digest their words one-on-one. His eyes focused on his father. His mind focused on his body which was getting increasingly strange. Chest thumping. His feet are starting to feel weak. He's not sure he's still standing strong right now. Alex remembered what awaited at the end of his body like that. He's gonna faint.
Jayden brought his face closer to the front, as if he was aware of Alex's condition.
Alex hasn't spoken yet.
Nadira may also be aware of this or feel that the introduction of Zetta Sonic widened everywhere. Not something his subordinates should hear. He kicked Alex and Jayden out of the meeting. The two were only there for no more than fifteen minutes. Short but enough to give Alex a picture.
As soon as Jayden turned off the communication, the screen blackened. Alex took it back. He hurriedly held onto the table. Slowly, he carried himself sitting on the floor. Jayden was about to help Alex, but since the boy was able to sit up by himself, he just gave a soft pat on his shoulder.
Alex deactivates the helmet, making it return to headphone form. Her forehead was wet with sweat even though her body felt cold. He didn't know how he looked back then, but Jayden did.
“Doctor Vanessa will kill me if there's anything with you.” Jayden shifted the chair, sitting next to Alex. “You're okay?”
Alex could not answer, only nodded. He could feel his head trembling. His hand now pressed the symbol in the middle of the uniform. Without his uniform, Alex felt a little more relieved. He also took off the gloves, hugged her with headphones, leaving herself still leaning against the table.
Jayden took off his gloves, threw them on the chair. His hands were unbuttoned while complaining. “This uniform always makes me hot.”
Alex watched him without speaking.
Jayden smiled. “You did your job well.”
Alex shakes. “I screwed everything.”
“Consider no.”
Alex looked at the young man beside him. “You're kidding? I let the people we were supposed to catch get killed. We don't know who's behind the bomb. I'm too slow. Oliver Button is still alive. Caitlin out. I shouldn't even get this Dragon Blood!”
Alex's voice raised a protest on himself.
Jayden raised both eyebrows, “Do you regret having Dragon Blood in you? If you want to blame someone, I'm the one. You wouldn't be here, if I hadn't sent the virus.”
Alex avoids Jayden's gaze.
So, Jayden asked again, “You're sorry for being Zetta Sonic?”
Alex shakes. He threw away his face as his eyes began to get wet. He was disappointed in himself. He knew he could do better than this. He could face his father but had no chance to talk. Alex was angry and upset at himself.
“Do not talk philosophy with me!” sahut Alex's.
“It's not a philosophy.”
Alex pulls the knee, buries the face in between. He didn't want Jayden to hear him sob even though his shoulders were clearly shaking.
Jayden hit him on the back. Not patting, but hitting. The blow made Alex turn away. Jayden had stood up, slowly walking away from him. Alex saw how the back was getting away from him. In his heart, Alex knew. If Jayden can still get up even if he made a mistake, he can too.
After leaving Jayden's room, Alex doesn't remember the details of what happened. He woke up with a fresh body. He's ready to go home. Not for school. Time has shown ten o'clock. Breakfast is at the table. Bread and milk in the bag. Alex doesn't nag. While making a big bite on the sandwich, he quickly turned on the computer.
Nothing happened. The computer shook even though Alex pressed various buttons. He realized the cause after turning around backwards. The power cable to the computer has been removed. Without electricity, there is no miracle that makes it light up.
Alex dropped himself back into the swivel chair. His eyes were watching the room. A large bed with various medical equipment, rows of machines at the end of the room, a tall table complete with high chairs, a large cardboard pile, also a tool box on the floor. Alex is quite sure that the items in the room changed from a little to a lot to stifling.
Just when the bread was finished, Vanessa's doctor entered the room carrying another small cardboard box. He threw a smile as he piled the box on top of the other box. “Hai, Alex. Sorry about all this mess.”
“Preparing for a major overhaul?” guess Alex.
“Iya. No one knew how far Nadira would go to remodel this place. At least we knew he would start from the X-01 floor. It's the last floor and probably the only room that won't be touched. Anyway, you're going home .. You know what I mean.”
Alex nodded. He did not mind if the room that became his room for several days was turned into a temporary warehouse.
“How was last night?” ask Dr. Vanessa.
Alex knew the doctor was asking about the meeting, but he didn't want to talk about it. Alex just answered. “I sleep soundly.”
“Good then.”
Next, the door opened again. Jayden was wrapped in a gray cardigan, baseball cap, sneaker, while carrying a large red bag. “Awake up? Let's leave?”
“Where do you go?”
“You don't want to go home?” Jayden smiled wryly.
“Not me. You.”
“Oh. I'll also go home to a place I can't call home.”
