Alex gasps. If it's not a bullet that's going to come out of there, then a laser beam or a bomb is not good news either. Luckily there was Dragon Blood in him. Alex could have avoided the attack. Rando's gunfire scorched where Alex was standing earlier. Not stopping there, Rando shot again from one hand to the other. Alex ran up the stairs.
Rando wasn't going after her. He pulled one of the stairs out. The long iron was thrown like a boomerang. Alex manages to avoid it, even though it is not perfect. The iron tip hit the shoulder. Alex almost slipped because of it, but he can still run up.
“Free run, Zetta Sonic! Your head will be mine!”
Alex didn't bully him. As long as the hitman calls her Zetta Sonic, her life is still safe. Alex was more afraid that Rando would call him by his real name. At least, he agreed to one thing from Rando's remark earlier. He can't run. Therefore, he would not run away.
He also knew he could not run out now. Their fight cannot involve others. Alex had no choice but to lead Rando out into the open. With a feature in his helmet, Alex finds an empty and open spot on the second floor. It's like a boat bridge. An open area with a safety fence surrounds each corner. Amazing view.
The white mountains in the distance and the sea of ice below emitted a golden light. They reflected the twilight light mixed by the flames. The wind is pretty strong. Alex doesn't like this. Its current location is almost like a helipad without a runway and without a helicopter.
Alex turned to see that Rando had arrived there. Rando doesn't shoot anymore. He pulled out a serrated knife and charged forward. Alex backed off, trying to keep his distance. His opponent looked extremely expert in melee combat. When Rando pulls out a knife, Alex dodges. He stomped Rando's hand, trying to drop the knife. Because Rando's hand is an iron-plated machine, Alex instead finds his own hand sore. The knife did not fall. Rando manages to keep his knife, even pulling it back and scraping Alex's stomach.
There was a slashing sound and sparks. Alex could not hide his surprise. He hurriedly retreated. His hand touched the part that was hit by the knife. No damage means there's just a thin white line.
“Shocked?” Rando grinning. He took a similar knife, played both like a circus clown playing a ball. “You don't think that your uniform can withstand all attacks, ‘kan?”
Alex frowning. He has to find a way. He's not alone. That is, not really alone. Physically, he was indeed alone with Dragon Blood, his special uniform, weaponry, and brain. Before he could use Dragon Blood to its fullest, he had to use his brain first. So far, his brain has never let him down.
“Why do you want to blow up this place, Rando?” Alex asked, stalling.
Rando was not surprised when Alex found out his identity. “I don't know about that. Just ask the person who puts value on your head.”
“What!?” Alex doesn't really understand what that means. “You killed the man who spread the bomb here. If not the real culprit, you do not need to kill that person.”
“Cause she's noisy.”
The answer that comes from Rando makes Alex more aware of what kind of world he will face along with the ICPA. High-tech criminals, ambitious rich, bloodthirsty maniacs. The dilapidated world does need the Zetta Sonic.
Alex took a deep breath, telling himself he could win. He had reason to teach the killer a lesson as well as great potential. Time to try out Dragon Blood's power. Through some of the events that happened yesterday, at least he knew that Dragon Blood gave him above-average abilities such as speed and strength. Now it's time to combine the two.
Rando stopped playing around. He ran again. Alex squinted, concentrating. He could feel the Dragon Blood within him reacting. His world is gleaming green. After that, Alex ran fast on the opponent, much faster than Rando. His opponent was wide-eyed, not expecting his arrival.
Realizing that his hand was no longer holding the knife, Rando opened his palm. Alex's head refused, moving away from the hand. Instead, Alex instead uses his legs, giving a crushing kick to the opponent. Rando's shot missed into the air. The man fell backwards.
Alex thinks he's got the opponent down. Apparently not. Rando caught her side of the foot, slamming himself again to the floor. The same pain jumped from his back to his head. He had to stop like this.
Alex's hand touched something on the surface of the floor slippery and cold. A knife. That's Rando's knife that fell. Alex realizes that Rando is running to her. That was a big mistake for him. Alex pulled out a knife. Rando was once again shocked by the attack. The man managed to avoid the vital point, even so his knife stuck in the shoulder.
Alex jumped on both feet again. Before the opponent strikes again, Alex gives another kick. Rando fell to the ground. Just briefly. He woke up quickly. Without hesitation, the knife was removed. Red blood seeped out, soaking up the shirt. Alex can see Rando's body parts are plated with iron and not. Most of his left abdomen was iron-plated, the rest was just like any other human.
Rando. He realized Alex was pointing a gun at him. Not a gun but a laser gun.
“Drop your weapon!” Alex pinta.
Rando is still flinching. The smile on his face slowly changed in place of laughter.
“Kneel and drop your weapon!” Alex repeated his orders.
Rando stepped back, one step at a time. “Zetta Sonic, I seem to underestimate you too much. This fight is so much fun. Very entertaining. I wonder how strong you can develop later.”
Rando's grin and laughter gave Alex goosebumps. Even so, he kept moving forward. “Drop your gun or I'll shoot!”
“You won't shoot, boy! You don't have the courage.”
Alex felt his heart thump. Rando called him a boy, as if he realized that his opponent was not an adult. However, behind the helmet, Alex believes Rando does not really know who he is. Maybe from his physique, his guts, his way of speaking, or his way of fighting. Many ways, thought Alex to calm down.
“Bye, boy!” Rando is at the end. He dropped himself backwards, allowing gravity to pull himself in.
Alex gasps. He hurriedly ran to the end to check. Alex looked down and around. The view of chaos is still the same. The workers run here and there looking for cover in case of a follow-up explosion, but Alex finds no Rando anywhere. Alex knows his opponent survived. They'll meet again next time.
Now, he has a team to save.
