The Zetta Sonic

The Zetta Sonic
Chiller Rooms

Alex shivers. That place sucks. Cold pierced. After school, dinner, and homework, Alex thought he could spend his time playing or just watching funny videos. If not for bearing the name Zetta Sonic now, he would not have been willing to be bullied. Especially sent to such processed meat factories.

The plant has a giant cooling room. They make sure all meat obtained remains fresh until the processing period. This keeps the taste awake when sent abroad. Everything went smoothly until they found a monster in the cooling room.

Monsters. For real.

Alex didn't understand the mission brief until he saw it for real. He was tall and big, almost like a Tiger. A human with unnaturally large muscles. His skin was bright red like boiled shrimp. His eyeballs are invisible, only the white part is visible there. Alex shuddered in horror.

“What really happened?” Alex asked. He had just closed the cooling door behind him when he saw the half-monster human figure walking up to him.

[Night shift workers are turning weird. Without reason.] Emil's the operator for Alex tonight. Jayden is training him.

“I know. You already said that during the briefing and I could see his uniform being torn because of those unnatural muscles,” Alex said. “That's not what I asked. It was impossible for humans to turn into monsters like this for no reason. Except..”

[Unless he gets a dose of Dragon Blood?]

“What is possible? I thought all the Dragon Blood formulas had vanished with professor Otto.”

[Why not?] Emil asked back. [Nobody can block the leak of information. You know that.]

Everyone in the Special Force has learned what happened in Kloster village. Jayden explains the story in detail. On the one hand, they can be calmer because Alex's condition has been stable. On the other hand, they realize that traitors can be everywhere. Even for a fairly solid tribe like Kloster, there were insiders who could sell his information out.

Alex noticed there was some round plastic protruding on his body. “What is it? Are you guys trying to shoot him with a dope bullet or something?”

[Tranquilizing drug. Not successfully.]

Alex changed the question. “Do you think the man in front of me can still be saved?”

Alex remembers vividly how professor Otto's experimental monster ended up being destroyed with a pungent smell. Alex does not want the man in front of him to suffer the same fate. He was pretty sure that the man was the victim of another experiment.

[Don't kill him. Juststop. In place.]

“Thank you for unhelpful suggestions.” Alex already knew that he should not attack excessively.

Alex flinched for a moment. The man in front of him moved without direction. He nudged the pieces of flesh that were hung and sometimes hit neatly arranged metal tables. That guy looks pathetic. Losing his direction and losing himself. Though not sure if he can do something, Alex wants to try to help him.

Alex also approached his opponent. The man was like a confusion. Every now and then he went silent and circulated his gaze, sometimes he went berserk and destroyed whatever was there. When the man entered within his range, Alex punched the opponent's jaw quite hard. That should have knocked his opponent unconscious. Apparently not. Instead, the man or the monster flinched for a moment and then began to groan furiously.

“Sial—“

His opponent was even more upset because every blow was fruitless. Groaning loudly, the monster hit the table closest to him. He lifted the table full of piles of meat easily. Alex gasps. The table floated on him.

Alex tried to run. However, he was a little late. The table hit his left hand. Alex grimacing. Not yet able to run again, he found other tables floating on him. It's ridiculous! Alex prefers to face off against opponents he can beat. While the opponent in front of him has a body that is too hard. The punch means nothing. Worse, he felt guilty about hurting her.

When the monster runs out of stuff to throw, Alex runs forward. He hit his opponent's stomach. If you think the stomach will feel tender, Alex is wrong. His opponent's stomach was hard. It was not as hard as the jaw or as hard as the wall, but the punch was clearly not about the texture of the stomach in general.

The monster groaned again. This time, he didn't hit. His hand pulled the shelf quite close. The shelf went straight, almost to Alex. However, Alex's deft hand held him and instead pushed him in the opposite direction. The condition of the cooling room was ravaged. Blame Alex and the monster.

Alex hit his opponent's stomach again. He ignored how hard or difficult it was to take down an opponent. He just hit and hit. That streak of punch slowly forced his opponent to retreat. But not enough to bring him down.

The monster groaned. Using a fist fist, he hit the opponent's head. Alex is ready to take it off. He resisted the attack with his hand. Spontaneous, Alex complained. The opponent's attack was much stronger than he had expected. His hands were in pain, making Alex pretty darn good.  His opponent was solid as a wall.

Alex turned around to the back. Using his feet, he kicked the opponent's knee, forcing him to kneel to the ground. That way it works. At least the back of his opponent's knee is still quite tender.

Alex pulls his opponent's hand back, preparing to put up the handcuffs he has brought. The opponent was not desperate. He knew Alex was behind him. His opponent nodded his head backwards. The hard head was clashed with the Zetta Sonic helmet. The force of his thrust was too tight. Alex jerks. Not only because of the pain but there was also a hair crack on his helmet.

Alex backed off quickly. “He's like a brick wall!” Alex protest. “No, he's worse than a brick wall.” Alex was confident that with the power of Dragon Blood, he could destroy walls more easily.

[His body continues to harden.]

“What do you mean keep hardening?”

[I did an analysis on his body. Whatever liquid entered his body, made him hard. And, keep hardening. Probably because of the temperature.]

Alex had forgotten that he was shivering. Moving on keeps it warm enough. “He is in a place that benefits him. You guys are supposed to make a tool for this kind of situation.”

[What-like? A flamethrower? A stronger drug?]

“Entahlah. Maybe some kind of freeze ray?” Alex remembered Seinu who had met him in the village of Kloster. “No, that's a bad idea.” Alex also remembered Emil's explanation earlier.

[You have the power. Also a laser gun.]

“I don't want to shoot him.”

[Not. Just to bring down the temperature.]

“Lower temperature? We just need to get him out of here,” Alex said. He turned towards the entrance of the refrigerator and realized that the road had been covered by scattered items. “Very good!”
