Orbis Online

Orbis Online
101. History of the Horen Tunnel

A few hours after the arrival of Reus and Ikshan in the cave where the Snow Trolls and Yeti live, the two were resting in a special room prepared for them by Horb Bloodborn, the leader of the union of these two Horen Mountain ruler monsters.

Although this place is actually said to be a cave, its interior appearance cannot be described with the word. It was probably more like a small town hidden within a mountain. There are many small and medium-sized houses made of clay and stone.

You can also see that the entire Snow Troll and Yeti here live in peace and harmony. Everything looks so friendly and friendly, even to Reus and Ikshan who were the masterminds behind the recent massacre of their people.

   "Reus, what do you think?"

   "What?"

"The monsters. They don't look evil at all, they just live like we humans and other nations. Are they not part of the Event Monstrous Invasion or the Main Story?"

   "Okay, I don't understand either."

Reus bit his finger at the thought of Ikshan's words. Snow Trolls and Yetis are indeed the same race as humans and others, but including monsters because their bodies are ugly and have strength far above the average human Orbis Online.

Monstrous Invasion itself is an Event that affects the ferocity and number of monsters to attack various civilizations, while Main Story says that monsters become increasingly violent and want to disrupt the pseudo peace of the Orbis Online world.

These two things are very related to each other, but are not Snow Trolls and Yeti included in it even though they belong to monsters? It raises a big question mark on Reus and Ikshan's head.

While the two were thinking hard, someone knocked on the door of the room breaking their respective daydreams.

"This is Horb Bloodborn, can I come in?"

   "certain."

Reus immediately stood up and opened the door of the room, then entered Horb alone with clothes made of dull pieces of cloth sewn without any weapons. The silver-haired player allowed Horb to sit anywhere, of course the leader of this monster group accepted it without hesitation.

"First, I want to apologize because my people have attacked you before. Please don't blame them, I'm the one who ordered them to do so against all the intruders who came to this mountain."

While saying that, Horb lowered his head towards his interlocutor.

The two players in the room looked at each other in confusion. Why do these leaders apologize when they killed so many of their people?

"Before that, why did you apologize? We're the ones who should apologize for killing so many of your people, even if it's unforgivable."

"I will explain everything, from our people living here side by side and attacking you."

After that Horb told me all the things he knew in this place that were told from the generations of the leader of the Snow Troll and Yeti alliance of the first generation Horen mountains. The explanation took quite a long time, but strangely Reus and Ikshan did not look saturated and seemed enthusiastic to listen word for word.

Formerly the Snow Trolls and Yeti who are newcomers to this mountain fight each other for territory and resources, and the right to enslave the losers. The war lasted several tens of years and caused many casualties and damage.

Once upon a time when war was burning, a creature came from the top of the mountain and stopped the ongoing fight with just one leg.

The creature awoke from its slumber thanks to the battle between these two immigrant races, then slaughtered half of each army so that no one dared to fight it.

Thanks to that incident, Snow Trolls and Yeti made a peace treaty in front of this creature and made a cave that until now had been their residence so as not to disturb the creature again.

The creature who is satisfied that there is no more war then promises the safety and security of all of them from anyone stronger than them. But this promise will only be fulfilled if this 'anyone' attacks them for reasons that are less acceptable to him.

Thanks to this agreement, peace was established between the Snow Trolls and the Yeti— although there were still some unresolved grudges between them. This treaty is known as the Treaty of the God Horen, considering this creature was like the guardian god of the mountain of Horen to them.

A few hundred years after the agreement was formed, a powerful man made a tunnel through the mountain and shook the whole thing. The Snow Trolls and Yetis were trying to fight him, but no one could scratch the human in the slightest.

Since no one could match the strength of the human, the God Horen finally came and fulfilled his promise. The man explained what he was doing just to get through this mountain because it was too far away if he had to turn or climb it.

That's the history of this Horen mountain tunnel.

"My reason is to have my people attack you ourselves because we do not have enough food and other necessities to support our nation."

Although Mount Horen provides many necessities of life such as food, clothing, and so on, his people have been determined to as much as possible not to come out of the mountain as a form of their regret because it has made God Horen angry. Therefore there are quite a lot of fields and livestock in this place.

Reus and Ikshan nodded slowly as Horb completed a long explanation of the tunnels, caves, their whereabouts, as well as the reason they attacked the two.

When Horb's explanation was completed, a semi-transparent white panel appeared in front of Reus and Ikshan.

"{Congratulations, you get the title of HRoud's Tourist!}"

---

Huroud's Tourist

The title obtained for listening to the history of the city of Huroud, a city hidden in the mountain of Horen! Now you can receive Quests from the residents of the Huroud!

Both players widened their eyes as soon as they read the panel. Can players get the title just by listening to a historical story somewhere on Avora Online? No, this is Orbis Online's original feature.

'I don't think just listening to stories can get a title like this, it's unexpected.'

Reus smiled wryly while muttering that in his heart seeing his latest title, then his expression became very sour considering how many titles he had collected to date.

Horb then explains that the duel held tomorrow is actually just a formality and to prove that Reus and Ikshan are indeed entitled to be accepted in this city.

If they win, they can leave the city unharmed and with the slightest negative view, and are allowed to stay in the city for as long as they wish as guests of honor and important people. But if they lose, both can go and pass through this place, but with some goods must be left behind and their journey will still be interrupted by Snow Trolls and Yeti.

After all his needs were done, Horb returned to his residence and let Reus and Ikshan rest for tomorrow's duel.

Tonight has been a very special night for me. Wh why? Because Orbis Online won two You Are A Writer season 2 contest in the fantasy/adventure category.

Is my attitude exaggerated? Sorry if according to such readers, this is the first time I have achieved something to be proud of through writing, so.

Okay, back to serious mode.

Even though I managed to reach the second place of the You Are A Writer season 2 fantasy/adventure contest, there were no crazy ups or special updates because there was no time, material, and mood. If you follow me from the next hall, you'll know what my writing attitude is like.

Well, maybe that's all I can say right now, thanks for your attention and see you on next chapter!~
