102. Duels

The next day after getting enough rest, Reus and Ikshan walked towards the hidden town square of Huroud, where they had their duel against the city's leader Horb the Snow Troll. The two were greeted by several Snow Trolls and Yeti armed at the door of the room in order not to escape.

Well, even if it wasn't guarded to the extent as well, they wouldn't have escaped from this duel. Wh why? The purpose of both of them was currently to exit the tunnel, while the exit was already not so far away. It could be known from the sunlight coming from the cave above.

Although actually this mob monster is only an NPC and should not be so clever, he said, the sunlight that illuminates the entire cave comes from the reflection of mirrors that have been arranged in such a way from the mouth of the cave connected to the ceiling of this cave was created purely by them.

Thanks to the mechanism of the mirrors, plants cultivated here can grow well. For a monster mob that lives a primitive life, this is very surprising for people who have just seen it for the first time.

Arriving at the promised spot, Reus and Ikshan are greeted by dozens of Snow Trolls and Yetis with cheers in a language they do not understand. It didn't seem like a cheering of support like 'spirit!' or something, but it sounds more like 'eat!' or 'come back to the ground!' and sort of. It could be seen from their expressions.

"Oh, the guest of honor has arrived apparently."

Horb stood up from his sitting position with a large wooden mace when he saw Reus and Ikshan entering the dueling area. The two players smiled before closing in on the leader of the city of Huroud.

"Before the duel begins, I want to propose something. What can?"

   "Oh, interesting. What'sthat?"

Reus looked back at Ikshan who nodded his head slightly to be sure, then turned back to face Horb with a confident smile.

"We both want to feel the same duel against you, but it can't happen because it's a duel. So, I suggest the duel be divided into two innings after you rest after the first duel is over."

The mob monsters present in this place frowned and began to protest in their own language. At first glance this did sound detrimental to Horb, but the Snow Troll in question smiled broadly as if answering a challenge from Reus and Ikshan.

The silver-haired player's lips revealed an even bigger smile at Horb's response.

"alright. Since you guys are Immortal Being, I can give you a fighting experience."

Hearing the words coming out of Horb's lips, the mob monsters silenced his voice no longer cheering like before, this time they only dared to whisper quietly, but they were not, while Reus tells Ikshan what an Immortal Being is.

The reaction of the Snow Trolls and Yetis in this place was indeed natural considering that Immortal Being was a being that was said to be unable to die and had the ability to evolve very quickly through defeat and death. At least that was the rumor they heard from the other mob monsters around Mount Horen.

Horb knew these two human guests were Immortal Being due to his experience fighting these creatures before. Fortunately, he was able to win and survive until now.

After that, Reus and Ikshan went away from where Horb stood and determined who would advance with the stone suit of the paper scissors. A moment later the suit was won by Reus who had the first duel against Horb.

   "Good, I'm ahead!"

"Hadeh, go there and don't let me wait too long."

Reus immediately entered the area that had been marked as a dueling place with his best equipment, then followed by Horb who carried a large mace accompanied by a thin, silvery cloth that wrapped around his upper body.

The two stepped forward to a distance of about ten meters, then stopped as a Yeti walked towards the midpoint of the two.

"The duel will end when one of the duel participants surrenders, loses consciousness, goes out of the arena, or even dies. The use of a Healing Item or such is prohibited. Both fighters, get ready!"

Horb prepares his fighting position and Reus pulls Blackstar from his back and retrieves his fighting horses. The views of the two clashed in the air and created a pressure strong enough to make anyone fall if the level was too low.

   "Start!"

As the dueling statement was uttered, Horb immediately galloped towards Reus with his huge mace ready to be swung horizontally. Although quite fast, actually this speed standard only applies to the Snow Troll and Yeti races in this place, so the speed is not too great in the eyes of Reus.

'He's a very strong enemy to a player of my level, but I'll try as much as I can.'

Level 180

Reus raised Blackstar to the tip of Horb's head, then fired a fire magic forward to make the Snow Troll surprised and stunned, but unfortunately his plan failed. Horb destroyed Reus' fire magic with just a slash of his left hand.

"Swordmage, huh? Your magic is powerful enough for your level, but your sword skills are definitely not that great, are they?"

Swordmage is one of the Silver-Class advanced classes of Swordsman or Mage. This class is able to use the abilities of both classes, both swords and magic. However, the risk of this class was that his abilities would be evenly divided and his attacks would be mediocre or even weaker than other advanced-grade Silver-Class levels.

At least that was what Horb thought seeing Reus launch a magic attack and make him underestimate his opponent. Surely Reus will not waste this gap.

After Horb got close enough, Reus flashed a small smile and ended Sprint simultaneously, then darted quickly towards Horb. In just an instant, Reus appeared just below Horb's chin and shocked the entire audience—except Ikshan.

   "Swings! Dragon Smite!"

He swung Blackstar horizontally slashing at Horb's stomach at a time. Thanks to the pressure of the attack, Horb bounced a few steps back. Even so, Reus seemed unhappy.

   "Currently, it's a Chainmail armor, isn't it?"

   "Sadly, not exactly."

Horb's face was adorned with a smile full of pride while showing the cloth wrapped around his body now turned into iron, then back again into ordinary cloth. Reus' eyes narrowed at the scene.

'Is this what Mithril Silk is called?'

He clicked his tongue realizing the cloth on Horb's body was not for mere appearance or complement.

Mithril Silk, one of the rare top-tier armor-making materials. Obtained from a rare Mithril Worm then processed into a super strong thread of steel or more if channeled Energy, this Item is very rare.

So rare that once a beginner player lucky to get Mithril Silk and intend to sell it to NPCs, the price reached 10,000 Byl for one meter only. Unfortunately after that the player died and lost Mithril Silk due to in-PK other players.

"Well, who would have thought to see a rare High-Equip Equip that almost touched Ultra-Equip."

"This was the gift of the God Horen in the past as the treasure of this city. We only use it if the city is in danger."

   "Then we include danger?"

   "It can be said that."

The two simply smiled ending the conversation, then continued with Reus who attacked first using magic from within Blackstar. Unfortunately, Horb could withstand it as easily as turning his palm using clothes made from his Mithril Silk.

Reus's face began to shrivel seeing his attack held up like nothing.

   'This will be troublesome.'
