Orbis Online

Orbis Online
17. The Dilemma of the Seller

Finished taking the Reward and selling 500 bottles of HP Potion I at Orbis Online, Deus ended his adventure in the full-dive Virtual-Reality world for today. It is not good for him to play continuously and forget the real world. Since the time had already shown at 02:00 in the morning, Deus decided to go to sleep.

The next day, as usual Deus wakes up a little bit out of time when he enters class in his college. Today he is still holiday—because today is Sunday. He started his day by cooking a pack of instant noodles.

“My money... heh, just three more days out.”.

Deus smiled wryly checking the contents of his brown leather wallet. Indeed he still has reserve savings in his reserve bank account, but he hopes not to take it again for this month. As much as possible he should be scrimping.

While waiting for the boiling water to boil, he turned on the tv and saw the news around Orbis Online. Nothing caught his attention, until there was one player with long green hair and long ears—ras Elf—and a dark red-haired player with the Human race. Both have faces that attract the attention of—, especially women.

The two players are one of the Hundred Best Player ranked 67 and 73—si green ranked 67 named Indris, while the red in the 73rd seat named Irisk. Both are siblings in the real world—although their faces have never been known to the public.

They describe the interesting events they experienced in Orbis Online and various other things—especially the latest weapon from Deraft Corporation, Excalibur.

Both of them were very enthusiastic when explaining how diligently they were looking for this one-handed sword called Excalibur. Excalibur was an unknown item and Quest Reward of what mob monsters and what Quest they had to do to obtain this sword. The existence of this one-handed sword is still a mystery so many players voiced outcry at the Deraft Corporation for not giving the slightest hint.

Hearing of the protest, Deraft Corporation finally relented and gave one insignificant hint on the Orbis Forum page. From the clue, Excalibur can be obtained in a kingdom and the sword is stuck in a small stone. This makes the players feel quite frustrated because of the lack of clues.

Orbis Online is divided into two continents, Plainfest and Darfest. Plainfest is a continent home to both novice and professional players, but the Darfest continent is still shrouded in mystery.

This is because Darfest is filled with terrible mob monsters that are the lowest level 300. The monster mob that had level 300 was of course very difficult, even the Hundred Best Player alone was unable to last more than 1 hour there. For high level players alone it is difficult like this, let alone intermediate level players who do not include the Hundred Best Player.

Deraft Corporation also said that if any player managed to enter level 400 or managed to explore three-quarters of the Darfest continent, then a new continent would be opened. This condition makes players bite their fingers. In the Darfest continent the weakest mob monster is only level 300, what if when it reaches level 400 only a new continent that is definitely filled by more monstrous mob monsters will be opened?

Back to the main topic.

Deus listened carefully to their explanation, but he did not intend to search for the sword. Wh why? Because only players leveled above 280 could use it—in other words Level Requirement.

If you ask why there is no Level Requirement on Iron Sword +4 and Rare Ironforge Sword that Reus—avatar has on his Orbis Online—that is because level 20 and below weapons do not have Levels Requirements. Level Requirements will be applied only to weapons or equipment above level 20.

My nails are surprising, aren't they? Different from other MMORPG systems, Orbis Online system is unique and difficult to guess. Even the staff of Deraft Corporation also rarely give instructions so that players are expected to think independently and creatively.

But, there is one sentence that attracts the attention of the players that makes Orbis Online has the most players among other VRMMORPG games. ‘In this world, everything can happen’, that's the sentence that invites many players from VRMMORPG from other games to change hearts on Orbis Online.

“If I get that sword, I'll sell it the most.”

***

Bored since yesterday he only played Orbis Online, Deus finally decided to get out of his apartment looking for fresh air. Before that, of course he checked the results of his sales at the Orbis Forum. The entire HP Potion I he sold there sold so hard that no player left a single bottle.

He melted the 25,000 Byl he got from selling HP Potion I into rupiah and sent it into his account. He looks enthusiastic to see there is an incoming message on his cellphone containing the transaction of cryptocurrency exchange Byl from Orbis Online to rupiah has been successful, so he got 250,000 rupiah in one sale.

“Great... no wonder that many teenagers like me make Orbis Online as a job.”.

Sliding his smartphone screen, Deus smiled happily like a madman on the sidewalk. Of course this attracted the attention of many people, so they stayed away from Deus. Deus thought that he would continue to produce large quantities of HP Potion I, then sell them all.

However, he again thought of the players reselling his HP Potion I. If they continued to resell the HP Potion I that Deus sold, they made a huge profit while Deus was at a disadvantage. He had to pick, raise the price or stop selling the HP Potion I for a while. To him, the current best option was of course raising the price to match the price of those reselling his HP Potion I. But, this action there is a risk so that he cannot just decide.

The price of HP Potion I rising from it would definitely also affect the price of HP Potion I that other players were selling from him. In addition to novice players who do not get a share, the buyer may also be reduced. Then, do not rule out the possibility of the exchange rate of Byl against the rupiah will also decrease.

Deus could only sigh knowing these reselling players were making trouble for him. In the MMORPG game he played before on his smartphone, Deus did not think so far as to only think about adding money to the game. However, he realized that it turned out that the sellers who were targeted by the reselling players also experienced this troublesome thing.

“Looks like I should stop selling HP Potion I for a while.”

Deus smiled wryly to find that producing many of the items that players needed would bring about this kind of problem. He put his phone in his pants pocket and looked back at the road carefully. Since he is currently outside, he also plans to take the money he cashed out from Byl and buy some of his needs.

“Ah, sister!”

Hearing the cry from the voice he recognized, Deus raised his chin slightly and looked ahead. Although he pays attention to the road, he does not necessarily pay attention to everyone who runs into him so that he is often targeted by thieves since long ago. But amazingly, Deus has a vigilance on himself so that he realized if he was robbed—though secretly.

Her eyes widened to find a sweet brown-haired girl in a double pigtail, emerald green eyes, clean skin as clean as pearls, and wearing a high school uniform waving to her. The girl was with two men and two other women who were also in the same uniform as her.

Note: the explanation of the uniform on Sunday will be revealed simply in the next chapter:v

The girl ran towards Deus cheerfully like a child with both hands widened to the side, while Deus himself smiled happily looking at her. However, when they were close enough— was about five meters away the girl changed her expression from one that looked very happy, to one that was furious accompanied by a pressing aura. He increased his speed suddenly.

Suddenly, Deus immediately turned his back and ran as hard as he could to escape from the brown-haired girl pigtailed the horse. The two of them engaged in a chase on the sidewalk of the road being the target of attention from everyone who was there. On the other hand, the four people accompanying the girl smiled wryly which followed a feeling of bewilderment.
