97. The Rise of Darkness

Reus and Ikshan are already inside the Horen tunnel. Thanks to the special VIP Badge South Horen Legs that Reus had, the two of them were able to pass through the gatekeeper without any difficulty. Despite their difficulties, Reus and Ikshan could easily beat them all up and force their way through.

   "Ikshan, get your weapons ready! They're coming!"

   "okay!"

Currently inside the Horen tunnel, Reus was running at medium speed while shepherding several Snow Trolls and Yetis whose shapes were not much different, equally filled with white feathers towards Ikshan.

Although it is said to be a tunnel, actually Horen tunnel already has enough holes on various sides thanks to the existence of Yeti and Snow Troll. It looks like they made a hole big enough to reach this tunnel in order to prey on people who intend to go through the tunnel.

Ikshan took out his small sickle-shaped weapon whose end of the handle was tied by an iron chain from the waist, then threw it at the dozens of mob monsters that Reus was carrying. In just a few breaths the dozens of monsters had already died on the spot.

   "Ikshan, isn't that kusarigama?"

   "Oh, this? Yes, this is kusarigama, my favorite weapon. My class is Ninja if you're curious."

Kusarigama is one of the most difficult weapons in the Orbis Online world, only certain people use this weapon well. Because of that, I also became one of the rarest weapons ever seen.

According to the information circulating, only players or people who have a Ninja class can use kusarigama considering this medium-range weapon including Unique Class Equip. Not just any ninja can use it as a weapon well and effectively.

This made Reus a little surprised to see the weapon used by Ikshan.

After knowing enough of each other's abilities, this time Reus and Ikshan lunged towards the group of Snow Trolls and Yeti who were gathered in front. With the long range of Ikshan kusarigama and Reus's superior sword skills in close combat, both are unstoppable.

The duo between the two players continued to eradicate the monsters that blocked their path for several hours until finally choosing to rest because of fatigue.

While resting Reus replenished his Potion inventory because it was used quite a lot for himself and Ikshan. Reus's power is not quite as rivaling that of the Yeti and Snow Trolls as Ikshan, but with the help of Potions he looks like an angel of death in the eyes of his enemy.

   "Oh, despite having a fighting class you can also make Potions with Alchemy skills that Alchemists usually have, huh? It's great!"

   "Hey, don't praise me like that. You yourself are also a Ninja, why can you get the Smithing skill?"

Both of them laughed when they found out each other's hidden ability that would make others confused when they saw it. Reus made Potions with his Alchemy skill, while Ikshan refined their Equip whose Dur began to diminish using one of the production skills, Smithing.

Ikshan said that quite a lot of Avora Online systems were adapted by Orbis Online, one of which is being able to get skills from certain actions. This fact is not hidden by the Deraft Corporation, but not many players also know it.

When Ikshan mentions it, Reus remembers that in Avora Online, players can also get a skill just by doing certain actions. He recalled that when he was still playing Avora Online, he often beat up wooden dolls, trees, stones, or other inanimate objects and finally got a skill just because it was venting his boredom.

   "Looks to me in that game there's a collection of super-powerful Items called Relic. Does Orbis Online also adapt this?"

   "If you think it's right too."

In Avora Online, Relic is a rare item but not so difficult to get by dedicated players like Reus and Ikshan. Even so, it is quite rare that any player has managed to get it.

   "Reus, what was it in Avora Online that you ever got Relic?"

   "Ehm.I've forgotten a lot about Avora Online because it's been a long time, but it looks like I've been."

Although Reus' memory is vague, actually while still playing Avora Online as Laplace, Reus managed to get a ring-shaped Relic that can summon a dragon as a special calling creature from a Quest.

Thanks to the existence of the Relic Reus is able to penetrate the Main Story up to about 70 to 80 percent.

   'If there are indeed many similarities between Avora Online and Orbis Online, does that mean I can get back the ring?'

When he began to be lulled by his personal fantasies, Reus then realized the existence of a former Avora Online player who also played Orbis Online just like himself and Ikshan. If indeed Orbis Online adapts a lot of systems from Avora Online, shouldn't there be a lot of information about the secret system Orbis Online?

   "Ikshan, how many Avora Online players do you think are playing until closing time?"

   "E-uh? Why did you suddenly ask that?"

   "Jawab it."

Ikshan closed his eyes for a few seconds looking for a roughly appropriate answer to Reus' question.

   "May be less than 100? Or just 50? At least according to my memories in my country there were only about two people who survived to the end including myself, that I could see from the local leaderboard."

Reus nodded slowly. If Reus is not wrong to remember, in Indonesia alone there are only about seven people who managed to survive until the closing time of Avora Online including himself. Indonesia is also listed as one of the countries that has the most number of players in the early days of the release of Avora Online.

This made Reus think of a question about the country where Ikshan lived, but he held him back for not politely asking about the real identity of a player.

After processing the information from Ikshan, Reus was able to deduce some possibilities.

One, former Avora Online players who now play Orbis Online choose to build strength secretly or bluntly using knowledge that they might remember. There is at least a possibility some professional players are former Avora Online players in the past.

Two, those who are the former players of the most difficult MMORPG game that also play Orbis Online keep secrets to strengthen themselves and reduce opponents who can be worth it.

Three, they form their own Legion or group targeting the highest position as well as the strongest. That was not surprising considering the frequent disputes until the war between the Legions.

   'There is no single strong possibility, all of them have the same possibility.'

Reus bit his finger realizing the mission he received from Arshwind to free the dragon from the deepest shackles of Chaos Lair space could be much hampered later with the veteran players of Avora Online.

Orbis Online does implement a quality system rather than quantity, but if the amount is too much then the quality can still be outmatched.

   "By the way, I haven't checked out any Quests that should be done to complete the Main Story Orbis Online."

While saying that Reus opened his Quest list panel, at the top there was a Quest being searched.

According to the prophecy of a priest in the past, there was a time when the destruction of the world began to approach. The monsters would become fiercer than ever and wanted to mess with the world's pseudo peace.
