158. Escaping XI

The entire Lavore Kingdom palace was currently beset with anxiety, why? All their anxiety and fear is caused by the great event that is happening today, which is that many prisoners are escaping from prison.

If it was an ordinary prisoner who escaped then there would be no need for the king to give the order to bring down the royal army to handle it but, instead, it would not be necessary for the king to give the order to bring down the royal army to handle it, no one disputes the decision of king Lavore Kindom this time despite some complaints from people around.

   "My king! Your Majesty!"

When the entire room was so quiet filled with a gripping atmosphere, a man opened the door of the room that had been closed with intermittent breathing. The man looked so tired but he took the time to face the king.

A man sitting on the throne opened his eyes slowly hearing the cry. There are several wrinkles on his face with hair along the shoulders that have been completely whitened, indicating he has aged at dusk. Even if it looked as fragile and fragile, no one in this room would dare to oppose it.

The person who had just entered the room tried to catch his breath for a moment before stepping closer to the throne and kneeling in front of the man.

"My king, I bring bad news."

   "Bad news?"

"Yes, Rajaku. One of the Elite Knights, Brandon Lastcrow has been confirmed dead by the first squad we sent to prison."

Everyone in the room was discussing with each other for a while. One of them advanced toward the man who was kneeling before the throne.

   "Are you sure?"

"According to the troop that managed to return safely, the death of Elite Knight Brandon Lastcrow was unquestionable. They've seen for themselves the way of his death."

"Who and how was he killed?"

"Witnesses said the perpetrator was alone, breaking through troops and using strange magic that could move objects without touching them. Some of our soldiers were flown to the sky by him, yet he also used a sword."

The people in the room again discussed, this time the wrinkles on their faces and foreheads looked so clear. Their expressions were more like people being confused than discussing.

"You're sure he used a sword? Not magic?"

The old man sitting on the throne opened his voice. Although it sounded trembling and slow everyone could hear it clearly.

"Yes, Rajaku. The witness said only one type of magic was used, which is to move our objects and people without touching them. He was more dominant in using the sword to finish off the troops."

The information-carrying man broke out in cold sweat as he expressed the report he had received. Not once did he dare to raise his head to look at the old man in front of him.

The old man called the king did not let out his voice for a while making the bearer of information break out in cold sweat feeling that he was making a mistake but as he thought so, the King of Lavore Kingdom rose from his throne.

The atmosphere inside the room suddenly became heavier than usual as he rose to his feet. The king looked at the bearer of information who was kneeling down and pointed at him.

"You go to the Elite Knight headquarters, tell them to send three or four of their strongest men to overcome this mutation. Have each one of them bring a hundred level 200 warriors up."

"Good, Rajaku. I'll do it soon."

The man who carried the information had thought he would be punished for bringing bad news but his assumption was wrong, he again got the task. This time it's a very important task.

He immediately resigned his retreat and hurriedly left the room carrying the king's orders.

"Without diminishing my King's respect, isn't it excessive to deploy three to four Elite Knights? Especially to the point of asking each of them to bring a hundred soldiers."

When the elderly man sat back on his throne, one of the men in the room expressed his opinion. Not a few who think the same as the person but no one dared to convey it.

The king sighed softly at the question of his followers.

"You should have known about what happened a few nights ago that burned down the Gaia's Tree region of our royal branch, right?"

The conversation about it spread so quickly like a fire reaching for oil.

"At that time there were two young men who were the culprits. One man wears a sickle-like weapon chained, while the other uses a sword."

The king looked at the faces of the people in the room one by one before continuing his words.

"I don't know if you remember it or not but as I recall, the Sylph de Corvette nicknamed the Warlock of Gale is being held in the same prison."

That one sentence surprised everyone who heard it. There was not a single one of them who did not know the name of Sylph, a former noble who was famous for the massacre he had committed against his own territory using large-scale magic.

"Remove the two perpetrators of the incident a few nights ago who had no idea what their motive was to destroy Gaia's Tree but, we must remember that there is a possibility that Sylph came to the nobility for revenge."

Everyone who heard the king's words bowed to understand the meaning of the sentence.

Sylph did not know that it was not only the Zackfone family that framed her five years ago, but that almost all the nobles and kings of Lavore Kingdom themselves had planned it all.

   "Hatchumiii!"

Sylph suddenly sneezed while walking beside Reus. He rubbed his slightly itchy nose.

"You didn't catch a cold from suddenly using magic after five years?"

"Speak what are you? Even if I was held in five years with anti-magic chains, I could still use simple magic like water or wind magic. Why do you think I look clean and don't smell like the other prisoners?"

Reus was eager to reply to Sylph's words and pushed his fist at the young man beside him but just as he was about to do so, Reus felt a bad feeling. He pushed Sylph far enough away as well as taking one step to the side.

   "What ka—"

Sylph had not yet finished her protest, the place she and Reus were standing before suddenly exploded making Sylph a little surprised before raising her vigilance. Reus did the same.

"Oh, it's great to also avoid Arcus' stealthy shots."

A man's voice sounded from the front. Reus and Sylph spontaneously turned their attention to the origin of the sound, where a middle-aged man wearing a shiny white armor complete with head protection and shield.

Reus pulled the sword on his back to act more alert, as did Sylph who had prepared her magic wand. Their feelings were not so good dealing with this man in front of them.

In addition to the appearance of his striking armor that looked so different from other Lavore Kingdom warriors, the aura around the man was also so calm and dangerous.

"Who are you? What are you gonna do here?"

Reus could feel the menacing air from the man so he first opened the conversation while unsheathing the sword.

"Is that how you ask someone's identity? I don't think that's very polite."

"Sopper? In this situation you think being polite is important?"

   "Well, unfortunately not."

The middle-aged man smiled gently at Reus but Reus did not feel any 'softness' in the smile.

"All right, let me introduce myself. My name is Xavier, Xavier Desgnar."

Both Reus and Sylph reacted to Xavier's words despite their different reactions. Reus looked ordinary as this was only the first time he had heard Xavier's name, while Sylph's countenance was immediately struck with fear as if the end of the world was in front of him.
