Orbis Online
205. Advantages and Disadvantages

The first thing Reus saw when he regained consciousness was a high ceiling filled with so many cracks as if it could collapse at any moment. He immediately got up from a lying position while holding his painful head.

It took some time until the pain in his head disappeared, Reus then turned to and fro to pay attention to the surrounding environment. His forehead shriveled when he found out he was still in the Ruins of Seven Dragon King's boss room.

   "What's going on? Shouldn't I be dead?"

Reus immediately checked the parameters of his HP and his eyebrows shot up seeing the number contained there being reduced by half than he should have but the parameters showed him not receiving any attacks, not receiving any, in other words, his HP was full.

When his head was confused then Reus realized at this time his body looks a little translucent which makes him shocked half-dead, he then remembered an innate skill from his special class Freelancer.

---

The Astral Protocol (Max)

When the user dies there is a 30% chance of turning into a vengeful spirit with 50% power for 10 minutes.

---

"Ah, it's worth it that the maximum amount of my HP is reduced by half."

Reus scratched his cheek just thinking about this skill. He had already died once at the hands of Xavier shortly after escaping from the prison in Lavore Kingdom but this skill was inactive, so he had completely forgotten about the Astral Protocol.

Thanks to this skill when dead Reus had a 30% chance of turning into a vengeful spirit once his HP touched the zero for ten minutes, but as a consequence the entire status of Reus dropped by as much as 50% for the time being.

---

Name: Reus (Astral Protocol)

Level 228

Class : Freelancers

Respect :4,081

Str :3,139 (-50%), Dex :3,271 (-50%), Vit :2,338 (-50%), Int :1,854 (-50%), Luc :1,731 (-50%), Conquer :234

---

Reus can see himself experiencing an increase to approximately 20 levels. Perhaps 20 levels sounded lacking after facing off against the Four-Headed Dragon King Statue as well as the seven Dragon Guardian Golems alone, but looking at Reus' current level was a natural even extraordinary thing.

The higher the level the more Exp is needed to move up to the next level. Although aided by the Expert Player title that increases 150% Exp from higher level opponents, rising 20 levels at once at the 200s level is an extraordinary achievement.

Perhaps Reus is the first player to raise that level in a single raise since the first release of Orbis Online in the 200s.

"Status Conquer isn't affected by Astral Protocol side effects, is it?"

Reus stroked his chin seeing only the status of Conquer that had not undergone any reduction from the Astral Protocol. He did not know the exact reason, but Reus guessed this was because Conquer was a special status that could not be obtained or improved in a normal way like the four basic statuses.

"By the way about Astral Protocol, it should be that the Freelancer class still has two other Bonus Skills that will open after I reach levels 100 and 150, right?"

Reus stroked his chin only to recall two mysterious Freelancer Bonus Skills that he had never seen open even though he had reached level 200. With that thought Reus opened the Freelancer class panel and examined it after a long time.

There are no changes to the Freelancer class panel except the Bonus Skill section.

---

Bonus Skill: HP Stack I, Energy Stack I, Life Enhancer, Astral Protocol, (Openable) (Level 100), (Openable) (Level 150)

---

The veins in the Reus temple immediately appear after reading the contents of the panel.

Reus slammed the sword in his hand onto the floor and took out various expletives from his mouth with all his might while pointing upward hoping the developer of Orbis Online, Deraft Corporation heard his grievances.

***

Having satisfied his curse and let go of his frustration, Reus let out a long sigh still slightly annoyed.

"If I had known this, I would have opened it first."

Reus snorted in annoyance once more before opening the two new Bonus Skills that were still locked away. It didn't take much time for Reus to open both.

---

The Soul Devourer (Max)

When the user kills the enemy there is a 50% chance that the soul of the defeated opponent will be absorbed by the user, turning it into HP, Energy, and additional Exp for the user in a certain amount.

---

Reverse the Lance I

When a user is exposed to bad status then there is a 10% chance of reversing all the effects of the Debuff to Buff for the user.

---

Reus' body trembled violently when he read the explanation of the two Freelancer Bonus Skills he had just opened, shocked and incredulous at the ability of the two skills. Reus' reaction is natural, anyone will react the same when knowing the contents of this Bonus Skill.

Reus was not too surprised when reading the Soul Devourer because Blackstar's Black Predator had similar abilities even though it did not include Exp, but once his eyes fell on Reverse the Lance Reus' explanation could not help his shock.

   "Is this real?"

Reus' finger trembled pointing at the explanation panel of Reverse the Lance, never to cross his mind even though he would get a Counter-type skill like Reverse the Lance.

Counter Skill is one type of skill that is quite rare to be possessed by players and NPCs, but not as rare as Aura Skill let alone Series Skill and Ultimate Skill.

A Counter-type skill is a special skill whose rumored strength could potentially match or even surpass an Ultimate Skill if used appropriately, but Counter-type skills will only be active when the user gets a certain attack or interference and has a long Cooldown duration.

Reverse the Lance itself was a Counter Skill that was slightly different from most, although without Cooldown this skill could not be activated at will by Reus. He could only rely on luck for this one Counter Skill to work at the right time.

It took some time for Reus to calm down after checking out two Bonus Skills from his Special-Class class. He had to admit that he was very surprised by these two skills, but one thing made his smile bitter.

   "Everything relies on luck."

Luc Reus' status is arguably a little above average at his current level, but compared to the other four statuses, Luc Reus' status is quite low, plus lately Reus is often visited by misfortune.

It's possible that Reus' chances of getting Reverse the Lance are below 10%.

"Well, there's no point in complaining either. At least I got another terrible skill even though the active possibilities were small."

Reus let out a long sigh trying to see how small the possibility of Reverse the Lance is active from the positive side. He then scratched his head and realized something while raising his chin up to look at the ceiling.

"If you think about it again until now I have never been exposed to the Debuff skill of the opponent, right? At most it was just a side effect of my skill."

Currently he did not have a physical body but a kind of spirit thanks to the Astral Protocol so that he could survive death, but at the same time his entire status was reduced to 50% of his normal. Not to mention if the duration of the Dragonman Form ended, then he could lose all of his status temporarily.

If that were to happen then Reus was not only helpless, but was actually an easy target for even the weakest opponents considering his entire status to be 0. Once hit by an attack as simple as a stone throw, then the history of Reus ended.

In the end Reus decided to take a short break until the duration of the Dragonman Form as well as the side effects ended before examining this boss room further. Only a fool would crash into an unknown location blindly, that was what Reus thought.

"Ah, if it was Dunk he would definitely go forward without a second thought."
